Been going there for 5yrs for diabetic annual exam. I have a Medicare advantage insurance. Usually not thrilled and ended up with glasses I don't wear. This appt 7/22 was the worst. Made a 2pm appt 2wks in advance. Arrived at 1:40. Crowded. No seats available. Filed out many forms. Wanted digital exam-no dilation, no air pulse. Called back to room exam. Was dirty. Waste on table with machine. I requested it being cleaned before exam. She looked put out. Rinsed her hands with water. Then took a paper towel she had dried her hands with and wiped machine and removed trash. I told her I wanted to talk to Dr before I signed for digital exam. Read the consent it said cost was $24.99 to be paid for before exam. Stated cost "may be reimbursed by insurance". I paid the $24.99. I have the receipt. Insurance said they never heard of that so no reimbursement. Went to see Dr Handy. We had a pleasant conversation about my health issues. I am type 2 diabetic & have Graves disease thyroid condition for about 45 yrs. It was determined I have the beginning of diabetic retinopathy. When I was meeting with customer rep. She started handing my papers to sign. I refused to sign a couple that I was told they were Hippa forms. As I glanced I noticed consent to "share" my info for marketing. I refused and verbally said I did not consent my info to be shared for marketing. Rep had to check with supervisor. Supervisor said I didn't need to sign but they wouldn't be able to share my report with my Dr. That's not true. Then as I read report of exam I noticed it was checked as having "Type1 diabetes- I am type2. I requested a correction. Rep. left to talk with Dr. Came back saying that type1 would be fine. Coded as E103.21. No correction. Also stated my eyes were dilated. Coded as 2022F. They were not. So this misinformation worries me as this will be in my medical record. NOT OK. I called my insurance and relayed these errors for the notes. I was eligible for $400 glasses. I didn't need another pair of glasses. I'm hoping they don't enter another purchase. I will not go back to your stores. I was in this store for over 2 1/2 hrs.
I had an appointment for my daughter. She broke her glasses and cannot see. She has a new optical plan and her card has not come in. While I was trying to upload the insurance card from the website (all of this and being told over the phone that not having the physical card should be ok and that they would help me) the manager tells me that they can’t see her anyway because the doctor has to leave. Tasteless!! Not recommended. Hellooooo my baby can’t see. Good luck to you all.
I’ve gotten the best service, professional and reliable
My appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM, but my daughter and I did not leave until 4:00 PM, despite arriving promptly at 2:00 PM and finding the office not busy. Following the eye pressure test, we were given a tray of glasses to select from without a prior explanation of our insurance coverage. While the doctor was excellent and knowledgeable, the floor staff provided extremely poor customer service. After explaining that I had never previously paid for glasses, a staff member inappropriately referenced a $151 out-of-pocket expense from 2021 when I lacked insurance. Ironically, with current insurance coverage, my out-of-pocket cost was higher than without insurance. Furthermore, I received only one pair of glasses instead of the expected two pairs typically provided under Medicaid. I am extremely dissatisfied with this location's operational procedures and will return to my usual provider at the mall, where insurance coverage is clearly explained and payment breakdowns are provided. My total cost was $174.98, and I remain unclear about the charges. I will not be returning to this location.
Review is based from the outside, i didn't do the test but my mother did. She was told by Humana that they take her insurance with full power. Do they? No they don't. If you got an elderly sent here? Its better to shop around. I still gave them a 3.5 to 4. They were super busy but the visit wasn't too long. The staff were respectful. After the test we found out the insurance only covers the test. She chose to keep her own frames and even with that? They charged her $350+ for just the lens's. Thats crazy! Which means if u add a frame it will all be like 600+. Two weeks later we picked up the glasses. She doesn't listen to me when i tell her to just do the test n order online. I got 1 pair of 200+ n every other pair i paid $14.95 online. They are the same things just one is for the wows the other is for the sport related shenanigans. For the test it's ok. Get an estimate and just shop around.
Great place to go if you want to make an appointment and then wait in the waiting room for an hour just to not be seen and leave. One star because zero is not an option
Ms.Yanitaza was very helpful for me and my mother she was very patient and helpful I would definitely recommend her personal and would definitely go to her again❤️❤️❤️❤️
Couldn’t be any more happier with the service. Staff member yanitza was able to fit me in same day after my contact had ripped at work. Thank you so much yanitza!
After almost a decade of coming here I walked out, will never come to the location. It’s always the same blond lady who has a nasty attitude. Every June I come here and spend about $1200 just on myself self with contacts and glasses CASH not including my kids glasses. I will never come back. She literally started yelling over only having an ins card and not my id which is already on file, I nicely explain I sat in the parking lot for 14 mins looking for it. That this was our 3rd dr apt of the day and I was just here a month ago with another kid. After minutes of auguring I offered to move my apt to a week or two to go to the dmv to replace my id have her 2 dates I could reschedule…. After her telling me she didn’t want to deal with me I told her they have lost our business and I will go eles where. Ever since Dr M left Bloomingdale location has been awful. Sadly thing is I work in the industry and try to be compassionate but clearly it’s time to take my business eles where.
They are understaffed and unapologetic about it.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
