I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shumski and the entire team at Magruder Laser Vision. After having two deeply unpleasant experiences at other practices where I was treated poorly, finding this office was an absolute blessing. My exceptional journey started on day one. I found the practice online and spoke with Ms. HenryOla (AKA Henry). She was incredibly kind, helpful, and highly knowledgeable. She answered all my questions about my upcoming eye exam and made me feel welcome right away. When I met Dr. Shumski, he thoroughly explained my eye condition and all my options. I was actually leaning toward the more expensive Light Adjustable Lens IOL solution. However, Dr. Shumski honestly explained that a different procedure would be much better for my specific eye anatomy, even though it cost significantly less. I deeply appreciated his honesty and integrity. The surgery took place on mid August 2026, and I don't even have words to describe how good and sharp my vision is now, and it's only been 5 days after the surgery was done. The entire staff is extremely well-trained, polite, and patient with my endless questions. I want to give a special shout-out to my personal concierge, Alexandria, who has been professional and helpful throughout. Also Reagan from the College Park office, and Ms. Katie at the Dr. Phillips office were also wonderful. Every single person here provides top-tier patient service.

Sorry I took a while to send a review. As I’m writing this review today, I can see so much better especially without any glasses. Thank you Dr. Shumski for making this happen. You and the MaGruder Laser Vision staff were simply amazing and so caring while I prepared for the surgery on July 23rd. My cataract surgery on both eyes on the same day went extremely well. The staff were superb and made me feel at ease. Dr. Michael Shumski did a superb job handling both eyes on the same day. I left being able to see clearly. When I got home, the doctor texted me and I had a concern. He not only answered my text, but also called me. It was wonderful to know how much he cared. I went back the next day for my post op check up and I continued to interact with amazing people who answered all my questions and concerns. My eyes are terrific now and I never had any pain or a worry! The worst part of this whole experience was the drops you have to use! Other than that, this surgery with this caring team is a breeze! Thank you all for what you did for me! I highly recommend you to anyone needed cataract surgery!

I couldn’t be happier with my recent multifocal refractive cataract surgery. The entire experience—from the friendly patient concierge Savanna and Lauren, caring staff , and skilled surgeon Dr. Shumski —was exceptional. My vision has improved and it’s amazing to see the world so clearly again. Their warm care and pleasant attitude made the whole thing smooth and less stressful. I’m truly grateful for the outstanding care and would highly recommend this team to anyone considering the procedure.
