List of Carla E Crawford's Reviews
Very likely Thanks to doctor Carla Crawford's oversight of my problem. my cancer was very quickly diagnosed and I was able to seek the proper attention for immediate resolution. I am grateful.
Knocked off 3 stars for 3 reasons: 1) absolutely disorganized 2) She does not practice consent. I felt extremely violated after one incident in the office: I was having a procedure done, and had my knees up, legs completely open towards the (closed) door, and she told an assistant to come in without asking me first. The assistant walked in and out a couple times while I was completely exposed. She then asked in front of the assistant if I was okay with her looking at my cervix through the microscope to learn. The assistant was already standing between my legs, so I didn't really have a choice. I have a history of sexual assault, and this office visit deeply upset me for weeks. I cried as soon as I got back in my car afterwards. This was the day that I decided I would switch providers once my issue was resolved. 3) Dr. Crawford does not respect a patient's decision to not have children. Every time I have mentioned that my husband and I do not intend on having children, she has asked "Are you really sure? You won't change your mind?" and did not accept the simple answer of "we don't want them" until I have a made satisfactory answer for her. She has also told me stories of talking patients out of getting abortions. Having a child is a deeply personal decision that should have no outside influence. Your doctor (ESPECIALLY your OBGYN) should support whatever decision you have personally come to, and respect the family you want to have. For someone whose job is helping with family planning, she sure doesn't respect your family plan. I've given her two stars instead of one because she did explain the procedures and issues I was having well, and I understood the course of treatment that was expected of me. This is the only positive I wil give her.
Three big things that Dr. Crawford lost my desire to work with her for: 1) very unorganized 2) she does not respect my choice to not have children. Every time I have mentioned it, I've gotten "are you really sure?" in return, and she's shared stories with me about talking patients out of abortions. If anyone in my life should support my decision to be child free, it's my OBGYN. 3) she doesn't practice consent well. While doing a procedure on me, she allowed her assistant to come in and out of the room multiple times. I was on the table, legs up and open towards the door, and the door was opening repeatedly. She also asked if she could show my cervix to the assistant so she could learn. I'm okay with this, but she should have asked this before the assistant was even in the room. Someone less assertive would have not felt comfortable denying this. I left that appointment reliving my sexual assault because it was extremely triggering. This alone made me decide to switch OBGYNs.
110% customer service with a smile
Dr.Crawford impressed me with a genuine caring attitude .she did not rush ,listened to my questions very approachable ,kind and knowledgeable.
I wish I could award 0 stars! My experience here was just awful. I went because she was within my network and I just needed a new birth control prescription. Upon my arrival, I had to wait because they didn't have the correct insurance info even though I gave it over the phone. Then I waited for at least another 20 minutes in my paper gown in a dingy exam room before I stuck my head out - I think they forgot I was there judging by the nurse's surprised expression. Dr. Crawford spent 5-10 minutes with me and I asked a question about changing prescriptions. At this point, I'm only mildly annoyed by their mediocre service. But then I get slapped with a $170 bill for a visit that should have been covered by my insurance! Also, the new birth control is not free on my insurance - it's $30. So forget that. She writes me a new script... for only 3 months. I called them multiple times with no success, complained to my insurance company, and even confronted her in person - the charge would not come off, because apparently by asking a single question during the exam it was considered a "sick" visit! I ended up needing to go to another doctor just to get a new script for my old birth control - probably just as well, I didn't really trust her medical skills after she lost my trust with everything else. What a scam. I'm a vet myself and would never get away with treating my clients/patients this way. Guess I'll be careful not to ask my doctor any questions in the future. Stay away from Dr. Crawford!
I had to wait for an hour and a half before the doctor saw me and spent 15 minutes of the 30 minutes that she was with me, typing the answers to my questions from the paperwork on the computer. There was no explanation for why I had to wait so long such as an emergency c-section or any thing. They were pushy in wanting me to schedule a follow up to get the results of my pap smear which I have never been asked to do unless after getting the results there was a problem. If there is an issue, I will go to another doctor. This was unexceptable. Doctor was nice enough and ok as far as bedside manner.
Dr. Crawford has a great manner about her, very calming and I had no problem with her professionalism or experience. My problem was that I was required to return for repeated visits when the appointments could have been consolidated. The average wait time was 1.5 hrs and much of that time was spent listening to other patients complain about the wait. After getting through my initial eval and getting the results of my tests, I discontinued my relationship with the her. I also had some concerns about certain staff members who appeared to be inexperienced and not socially adept. Finally, the biggest shock that I received was noticing that she had actually tested me for STDs without asking for my written consent, (as my current physician did). I found this to be very invasive and inappropriate. I have been married to the same man for 25 years and was insulted by her presumption. It has been more than a year since I was a patient at this office so I do hope that policies and procedures have improved.
I went to Dr. Crawford because she was a preferred provider in my network, and she was fairly close to where I live. The experience I've had with her and her office was awful. The billing department billed me incorrectly and twice for a significant sum that I had paid in office and got nasty with me when I tried to help resolve the situation with my insurance company. Before I even went to see her I confirmed several times with her and my insurance company that everything would indeed be covered 100%. After receiving incorrect bills I tried multiple times to straighten the amount out with her office, but to no avail. My insurance company confirmed that she (her billing person) had sent in incorrect procedure codes for payment to them, and the doctor herself even confirmed that she had made mistakes, "Oh yes, I did bill for a pap smear," even after insisting she hadn't on the phone with me. After trying for months to correct the bill, and leaving messages with her, I told her office that I would go in in-person and we could adjust the discrepancies with my insurance company together so we'd all be on the same page. Her scheduler told me that I would be billed for an office visit if I were to COME IN--and not even to see the doctor! Dishonest and incompetent office staff who would not, could not own up to having made mistakes. Avoid this practice to avoid erroneous bills!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
