I had bunion and hammer toe surgery on my left foot done by another doctor, and it was a horrible experience. I could not weight bare for 12 weeks at all. 12 WEEKS! I had to use a scoter and crutches. The pin for my hammer toe was sticking out, which my dog ended up stepping on. My foot swelled the size of a football, it was just overall horrible. Knowing that my right foot would have to be done too was making me sick to my stomach especially being my driving foot, I didn't want to not be able to drive for months. When I heard on the radio about Dr. Sklar's bunionectomy. I couldn't believe my ears, how is it possible to be able to walk out of the surgery as the women on the radio was claiming. This has to be too good to be true. I had to find out for myself what was involved in this and did this woman on the radio have the same thing done I had, what was the catch? I made my appointment with Dr. Samantha Sklar. She was very informative about all options that could be done and very understanding of my fears and concerns. I told her I was traumatized from my last experience and wasn't really sure I wanted to go through that again. She explained to me who she would do things different and told me I would have a much different experience. I was still scared and didn't know what to do, she told me let's start with cortisone shots to at least relieve your pain. We did the shots for about a year until I felt comfortable enough to pull the trigger and have the surgery on my bunion and hammer toe. She never pressured me into having the surgery and wanted me to be comfortable with my decision. She is so caring and comforting. I truly with she was my doctor for everything as great doctors are hard to find. Surgery day comes.. I could not believe that I in the office a total of 2 hours only. I woke from anesthesia wide awake and ready to go, no waiting to go home, no crackers and juice to drink, and able to walk out. YES, walk out!! I even went to lunch after the appointment. I could believe this, is this real? I had no crutches, no scooter, walked out with a boot on my foot and able to get around. I am now 7 weeks post op, and I think this was the best decision I could have made for my bunion hammer toe surgery. The pin is not sticking out of my toe, it is buried in the toe for removal next week. I feel great and have felt great all through this experience. I had maybe 2 days of VERY MINIMAL pain. I honestly wouldn't even call it pain; it was more just a discomfort. The staff at Foot First is top notch, especially (girl) Jordan and Anna. They are very sweet and made me feel at ease. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sklar, she is truly the best. I highly recommend seeing her if you have foot issues. I had to do a review because I wanted to share my story as I know there are people out there like me who are very nervous, reluctant, and scared. I was in your shoes, it's worth it to get it done. I have attached a photo of my left foot and my right foot at the same time frame of each surgery, 5 days after post op. The left is the foot done by another dr. The right is Dr. Sklar's amazing work. To say this time around has been night and day compared to my last surgery is an understatement.

They ruined both of my feet I now have nerve damage in both feet 😒 badly!!!

I will never recommend this office . Worst experience ever !!!!. Please avoid this place and Dr . Keith Sklar . He is the worse doctor , I ever see . He did bunion surgery for me 11 years ago and I'm in pain every single day . Actually he is not a doctor , he is a businessman, only thing important for him is to make money , patients a not important for him . People stay away from this place and this Doctor

Dr. Sklar and his team fixed a very painful bunion for me. I am about 16 weeks post op and I’m amazed with my results. My foot looks amazing and is functioning well. I am so happy I decided to do the surgery.

I am beyond happy with my results. Any poor reviews on here baffle me. I did have some out of pocket cost, but everything was communicated to me before the procedure...there were no surprises. I had a bunionectomy on both feet. While the second day was a bit painful, overall I was pleasantly surprised by the easy recovery. No complaints!

I can’t say enough good things about Foot First. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and I was taken good care of each time I’ve had a procedure. They accommodate everything I ask and I’ve never had such a responsive post op doctor in my entire life experience of surgery/doctors, Dr.Sklar will not leave you hanging with any worries. So far I am healing well and as expected and very satisfied. Foot surgery is not for the weak but I am very glad I traveled to Foot First and the town is becoming one of my favorites.

Steer away from this place. My wife had bunion surgery done there and ended up with a year-long foot issue. Physical therapy and another surgery didn't help. Finally, a corrective surgery elsewhere fixed the problem, but now breaking bones and bone grafting was required, not to mention pain, long therapy, and extended downtime from work. All in all, costs of 3 surgeries, where parts of Foot First charges are not covered by insurance (laser), which was another surprise.

I had surgery several years ago and was left with a new foot deformity and years of constant pain worse than preop. Keith Sklar is excellent, but you only see him at the initial interview and then the surgery...they try to dissuade any postop appointments. I experienced wildly inaccurate timeframes for return to work, inaccurate diagnosis and treatment for postop issues, and gaslighting by male and female staff. My recommendation is to go somewhere else.
