He did my surgery, when I was supposed to have another doctor at the hospital. Both breasts failed, and my stomach is distended.
He handled my surgery earlier this year, although I thought I was seeing another doctor. Both breasts failed, and my stomach is distended like I"m pregnant.
You will regret using him. I had problem after problem.
This place is a rip off. They don't take insurance, and they left me mutilated. Dr. Trahan wasn't even doing most of the operation, even though he was my surgeon. It's a money factory.
Disappointing after a long time waiting. I heard he was the best.
You could afford college, and if you don't turn out well, you have to go for more surgeries
From my first phone call with Dr. Trahan I was impressed by his knowledge, compassion, and confidence that he could give me a natural reconstruction. I was also very impressed with his expertise. You want a surgeon who specializes in this procedure and not one who simply performs it as part of their Plastics practice. Dr. Trahan does flap procedures all day everyday. During our first phone conference Dr. Trahan shared his cell number with my husband and I so we could directly contact him with concerns or questions. SGAP flap reconstruction is very specialized and does have risks--of course. It is not an easy way out for the surgeon or the patient. I am VERY pleased with the job Dr. Trahan performed and my physical outcome. There were bumps in the road and Dr. Trahan was always available either through his PA or direct personal contact. I would highly recommend Dr. Trahan and the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery to anyone in need of breast reconstruction surgery.
I had surgery in 2018 with Dr. Trahan. I can't warn you enough not to have surgery with this man. I find him confusing, a slick salesman, and an avoider. You can find other patients with similar accounts online. I arranged my whole life around the surgery, and he wanted to cancel the day before because he "works on vibe" and had an instinct. One side didn't get enough blood. This happens a lot with him and other doctors. I believe it happened in the hospital when they kept forcing me into this painful small garment. I also think he knew because I've seen notes from the hospital indicating it. He then proceeded to tell me everything was fine and safe, based on ultrasounds and photos, for months, gaslighting me. Another doctor (and then 2 more) diagnosed on SIGHT that it would need to be removed. Trahan then avoided calling me back for a month and then dropped me as a patient. I've heard the same from about 10 other patients now - that the hospital ditched them things went wrong. Patients who spend their entire life savings. They also destroy or don't complete medical records, because mine included literally nothing and had left and right mixed up. I have lived with terrible pain since because removing it leaves me with nothing. I wrote a blog about my experience, and the doctor threatened to sue me. Lol. Over an accurate blog about a terrible doctor. They are extremely vigilant about trying to remove negative removes. They removed my yelp review several times. That should say a lot. Other women don't share their negative reviews, because the patient community is like a cult, but we all talk. You can get the same surgery a lot of other places. They will try to convince you otherwise, but I promise. You can still find my blog. I dare them to sue me. It's 100% accurate. Trahan is the very worst.
After having 10 previous surgeries for breast reconstruction I came to Dr Trahan and his team.I am so thrilled with my results! The caring, professionalism, and surgical expertise by Dr Trahan and his staff made me feel listened to and cared for in all ways.As a Nurse Practitioner and previous surgical nurse I have very high expectations.Dr Trahan and his team exceeded those expectation in all aspects!
Trahan is a terrible doctor. The other surgeons there are better, if you can pay $30,000 per surgery.
Getting a breast cancer diagnosis can be devastating, but my experience at the center for restorative breast care made the whole process easier. Dr. Trahan used his expertise in creating not only new breast for me after my bilateral mastectomy, but he used his artistic skills to create new breast that looked great. The entire staff there are caring and compassionate. I am so happy that I chose the center for my treatment.
I am so pleased with my experience with Dr Trahan. He is kind, compassionate, and most importantly, a skilled micro surgeon. He spent a great deal of time with me explaining and developing a reconstructive plan for me. He has been very responsive to my concerns and requests. I am completely over the moon with the results of my reconstruction.
My experience with Dr Trahan has been exceptional. From the first moment I met him as a recently diagnosed breast cancer patient, he was compassionate, communicative, and straight forward. He has fulfilled every commitment to my health and restoration which he made to me and my husband. The results of my breast restoration are exceptional and I could not be happier having gone through the process with Dr Trahan as my plastic surgeon.
Dr Trahan is a professional, skilled, communicative, and compassionate reconstructive plastic surgeon. His level of expertise is second to none. I could not be more pleased with my results. He is the kindest man and has been straight-forward and honest with me regarding what I should expect. He has produced results worthy of this high rating.
He did my initial reconstruction after breast cancer. He revised it 4 times and I kept getting the same result. My left breast was much lower than my right. The last surgery, I had two different implant in each breast. I was done with him. I let myself heal and then found a doctor in Nashville (close to where I live) and my Nashville doctor cleaned up Dr. Trahan’s mess. I agree with the other reviews that state he is hard to get a hold of after the surgery. When you have questions and want to talk with him, it was always the PA that would take your question to him then call you with the answer. This often times created more questions and concerns. Trahan created additional scars that affected the 3D tattoo. Stay away from him. I regret going to him.
He was a huge disappointment. I paid over $20,000 for surgery, and I left NOLA feeling lost and alone. I could not get him on the phone while I dealt with one problem after another. I do not trust him, and I'm not sure what to do now.
I really liked Dr. Trahan and saw him for a couple of years. I believed in him. He said that my goal would take two surgeries, and now he wants me to have a fourth and fifth. But at the same time, he can't explain to me what went wrong, he's not validating my concerns. I feel like he doesn't have a memory for the promises he makes. I would encourage patients to communicate with him via email and take good notes after meetings. I would just stay vigilant. I have been disappointed seriously. I'm also out a lot more money than I expected I would be and I'm nowhere near my results. I would understand better if I. didn't feel that he was always telling me what he thought I wanted to hear in the moment.
I had a bad experience with him. I like Dr. Sullivan better. I can confirm the bad reviews here. He's sketchy.
I am BRCA1+ & had a prophylactic bi-lateral mastectomy & reconstruction in 2009. From the beginning of this journey, I was beset with one complication after another leading to 12 surgeries & ending up in pain & mutilated. I took some time to heal and then consulted with one of Dr. Trahan's associates while attending a conference. It wasn't long before I was able to get scheduled for surgery with Dr. Trahan at St. Charles Surgical Hospital. During my pre-op exam, he suspected more problems than the eye could see & arranged for one of his colleagues to assist with my surgery the next morning. My issues went far beyond my mutilated chest. The internal damage from chest to groin was extensive, included 3 hernias 2 of which were life threatening, 1 that would have undoubtedly killed me. I had spent 2 years in horrific pain and not one of my local doctors had an answer. I owe Dr. Trahan my life. It has to date taken 5 trips to Nola to repair the damage and complete breast reconstruction that is acceptable to both of us. We are nearly there. He & his colleagues know the importance of putting a human being back together, not just a body. I will be forever grateful to them and would recommend Dr. Trahan or any of his colleagues to anyone.
Dr Trahan is an amazing doctor. His bedside manner, care and concern for me as a person more than a patient was hands down the best I’ve ever experienced. He was very detailed and thorough throughout the entire process. He was available to answer all questions. Even my husband said he’s the best doctor we both have worked with ever. I have recommended him and The Center many times.
