From my first phone call with Dr. Trahan I was impressed by his knowledge, compassion, and confidence that he could give me a natural reconstruction. I was also very impressed with his expertise. You want a surgeon who specializes in this procedure and not one who simply performs it as part of their Plastics practice. Dr. Trahan does flap procedures all day everyday. During our first phone conference Dr. Trahan shared his cell number with my husband and I so we could directly contact him with concerns or questions. SGAP flap reconstruction is very specialized and does have risks--of course. It is not an easy way out for the surgeon or the patient. I am VERY pleased with the job Dr. Trahan performed and my physical outcome. There were bumps in the road and Dr. Trahan was always available either through his PA or direct personal contact. I would highly recommend Dr. Trahan and the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery to anyone in need of breast reconstruction surgery.

He spent a great deal of time with me explaining and developing a reconstructive plan for me. He has been very responsive to my concerns and requests. Getting a breast cancer diagnosis can be devastating, but my experience at the center for restorative breast care made the whole process easier. Dr. Trahan used his expertise in creating not only new breast for me after my bilateral mastectomy, but he used his artistic skills to create new breast that looked great. Dr Trahan is a professional, skilled, communicative, and compassionate reconstructive plastic surgeon. His level of expertise is second to none. I could not be more pleased with my results. He is the kindest man and has been straight-forward and honest with me regarding what I should expect. He has produced results worthy of this high rating.

I am BRCA1+ & had a prophylactic bi-lateral mastectomy & reconstruction in 2009. From the beginning of this journey, I was beset with one complication after another leading to 12 surgeries & ending up in pain & mutilated. I took some time to heal and then consulted with one of Dr. Trahan's associates while attending a conference. It wasn't long before I was able to get scheduled for surgery with Dr. Trahan at St. Charles Surgical Hospital. During my pre-op exam, he suspected more problems than the eye could see & arranged for one of his colleagues to assist with my surgery the next morning. My issues went far beyond my mutilated chest. The internal damage from chest to groin was extensive, included 3 hernias 2 of which were life threatening, 1 that would have undoubtedly killed me. I had spent 2 years in horrific pain and not one of my local doctors had an answer. I owe Dr. Trahan my life. It has to date taken 5 trips to Nola to repair the damage and complete breast reconstruction that is acceptable to both of us. We are nearly there. He & his colleagues know the importance of putting a human being back together, not just a body. I will be forever grateful to them and would recommend Dr. Trahan or any of his colleagues to anyone.

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in March 2018. I chose to have double bilateral breast reconstruction-with DIEP flap/ Nipple sparing Surgery.I could just not go through having to go have another mammogram the following year and hearing that news again. I also chose the double bilateral because I did not want to go through radiation and take hormone blockers for the next 10 years. It was a huge decision, but I knew once I met the surgeons, I wanted a double bilateral. I prayed about everything and it was God who lead me to these wonderful amazing surgeons Dr. Christopher Trahan and Karl Orydone I remember during my Consultation Dr. Trahan words that just hit my heart, “We don’t just want to make women beautiful under their Blouse or dress we want women to be and beautiful the moment they step out the shower in look into the mirror at themselves” Those were the words that determined my choice and I also got that gut feeling that these were the surgeons God had chosen for me. I am so thankful for them and especially with the results Dr. Trahan has given me. He has played a VITAL role in my life and has forever changed my life. I can never thank him enough. He has made me healthy and whole again and giving me my self-esteem back.I will say this I was able to overcome everything because of my Faith in our Amazing God and my awesome Surgeons .God’s grace got me through it all .You never want to hear those words, “ YOU HAVE CANCER” , but if you do remember this, its all about who you chose as your surgeons and hospital. I am 100% happy with my breast. They look absolutely beautiful and better than they did before. I still have feeling and sensation in them. If you are considering or have to have a single or double bilateral you should at least meet with Dr Trahan and take a tour of St Charles Surgical Hospital.I have never but once in my life met a caring, compassionate, and loving doctor as Dr Trahan. He truly gets it he understands what we are going through. He’s truly genuine and I am so thankful to have had Dr Trahan, Dr Karl Orydone, and the Awesome staff at The Center for Restorantive Breast Surgery.God bless you,Patti Chotto

Dr Trahan is an amazing doctor. His bedside manner, care and concern for me as a person more than a patient was hands down the best I’ve ever experienced. He was very detailed and thorough throughout the entire process. He was available to answer all questions. Even my husband said he’s the best doctor we both have worked with ever. I have recommended him and The Center many times.

I can’t believe I almost didn’t go to Dr Trahan because of some of the reviews. I started connecting the dots, these complaints are obviously from one person. It’s a shame that you’re allowed to write more than one review. Dr Trahan was amazing. He was so compassionate during our initial meeting and explained things in detail. I have been through a lot from previous surgeries and he was going to have to fix so much. His confidence & compassion made me feel comfortable with my decision. Please reach out to the office, they can connect you to numerous women who have had incredible experiences. Please don’t let one repeated review discourage you from using this gifted surgeon.
