Lexington Eye Associates's Online Review Report Card

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in a healthcare setting. Front desk staff was not only unhelpful, but extraordinarily rude and unapproachable. I came in for a new patient eye exam but cancelled my appointment and left after speaking to them for 5 minutes.

The first time I went there (Concord office), the doctor had an emergency, and I had to wait over an hour to see him. The second time I went (Oct 2024), a 'tech' did the refraction evaluation (read the chart) and put in the eye drops to dilate my eyes. The doc came in, spent 10 minutes with me, and the charge to BCBS (which I have a vision plan for), was $485 PLUS they charged me $65 to do the refraction eval. Neither Medicare or BCBS with EyeMed coverage covered the $65. Never have I had to pay for an annual through insurance. It's ridiculous and exhausting, and expensive. If you're worried about the cost of eggs, worry instead about the ridiculous charges from doctors of all kinds. Based on other reviews, I'm going to find myself another group to go to.

IF YOU WANT REAL/HONEST REVIEWS GO READ THE ONES ON YELP. I really did not want to write this review, because 11 years ago my experience was different. But the fact that it's come down to this, hope it's a testament of how awful this place has become. 11 years ago I had a chalazion, I came to see Dr. Lin, and she has incredible bed side manner, she removes the chalazion in a surgical procedure, the entire process goes well. Fast forward to now, it is completely impossible to even get an appointment here, and after surgery even a followup appointment. When you're in dire need, the office doesn't care and neither do the doctors. After one botched surgery already, and months of waiting for an appointment, I come to see Dr. Lin in April: she sees my eye, and decides to remove the current chalazion i'm experiencing, and doesn't take time to answer questions, is incredibly rude, and shoos me out of her office. I come in on the day of the surgery and she says she "removed the chalazion" but not even 3 days later I still see a very prominent bump there. I ask her for a follow up , saying Im in pain and the bump is growing, she refuses. I try to contact someone in the office by calling and messaging every single day, and no one for days replies back.... They finally call back a week later and say they will see me for a follow up appointment, but the charge is 200 dollars, because I'm not in the "10 day follow up window" anymore. LMAO. I was only one day out of the window.... Even the billing lady was on my side, when I requested her to let me be seen, because the office was not cooperating in the first place, and she said she would ask Dr Lin if that's okay with her. Calls me back and said Dr. Lin refused!! THIS PLACE IS A MONEY HOARDING SCAM. Dr Lins behavior makes me laugh. 11 years I came here, they don't care about their patients they don't have any loyalty so DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. This put me in such a severely ill mental state, the amount of pain, suffering and just anxiety I went through because of this ignorant and disgusting doctor and practice is beyond me. She has a lot of lawsuits against her too and im not surprised. I will never be coming back.

This office sent me a text message saying that my appointment was in Lexington. When I got to Lexington on time for my appointment I was informed that the appointment was actually in Concord. I asked the person checking us in to call Concord and let them know what had happened, and drove half an hour to our Concord appointment only to be told when we got there that we would have to reschedule. Which they could have told us at the first place. We will be switching practices. They did not accept responsibility for this mistake.

Used Lexington Eye for many years (over 20). May, 2024 appointment for eye exam, I was late by 10 minutes, I called and explained this. Was told had to reschedule. Next opening OCTOBER. I would not wait five months for anything let a lone a missed eye exam. I don't even wait in check-out lines. Needless to say a different company was seen and Lexington Eye was informed and told good-bye/. A business relationship of decades should result in some level of service above a first time walk-in. As an aside, liked my doctor very much. My wife all but hated her. Go figure. Now I'm looking for a replacement. Need laser surgery. Quality of Care Always excellent but 5 months wait for a long term customer Office Experience Seems to me it always took too long to have an eye exam but I have nothing to compare it with.

This is a fraudulent organization. They did not tell me they did not accept my insurance and charged me $400 for a routine eye exam. Please be very careful with these guys. They have been very deceptive in billing and charging

Terrible experience. Saw an optometrist for a routine eye exam. Was told they saw something and I needed to see an ophthalmologist at the practice. Ophthalmologist said I had glaucoma in both eyes and needed surgery ASAP. Was told "you can get a second opinion but they're going to say the exact same thing I do." Got a second opinion at Mass Eye and Ear (they have a satellite location in Lexington so there's no need to go into Boston). Testing equipment was WAY newer and the doctor took the time to explain what was going on and what my treatment options were. Turns out I do NOT have glaucoma. Grateful to have the #1 eye hospital in New England in such close proximity.

I agree with a recent reviewer that Lexington Eye Associates has been trying too hard to bill customers for no reason. I went in for my routine eye exam, dilating pupils and all that. After the assistant completed everything, the doctor came in and did a retina inspection. She said she suspected some condition that she suggested me to follow up. She documented that in my record. I paid my $10 copayment, and made some future appointments. Few weeks later I got a bill for more that a $100. I asked their billing department what that was for. I already paid my copay for the eye exam. She said the moment the doctor suspected you had a condition that needed follow-up, it turned into diagnostic. It feels like you go into a garage for a "free" 5 point inspection for your car, and then the garage charges you a hundred bucks for pointing out that there may be something wrong with your car after the free inspection. What is the "free" about? Only if they don't find anything wrong? What is the routine eye exam about that the copay covers? Only if they find nothing wrong? The billing person told me that even if they find you have dry eyes, it is a diagnostic. Aren't they trying too hard to bill?

I lost my glasses while I was at this place. Seven people help me look for them. Sadly, they had fallen out of my pocket after I had gotten in my car to leave. But they were truly great!

My family have been going to Lexington eye for years. But now they are definitely trying too too hard to charge for no reason, like they believe they found i have dry eyes, but never talk with me about it and treatment! I don't even know they found it! Then sent a bill although I just went there for annual check up only! I understand inflation, but they should not pass it to us in this way!! It is robbing!! I hate to search another eye doctor, but I cancelled all appointments of whole family!
