List of Jenifer Huifang Zhai's Reviews
I had my first visit with Dr Zhai and was very pleased. She showed compassion and a caring attitude. She was honest and knowledgeable. Thank you Dr Zhia. You are appreciated.
Waste of time.
My 79 year old aunt came to Missouri for the summer from Arizona. Upon arrival she could not walk, she had lost strength and balance. During her second day of travel. She saw a Dr. whom recommended she see a neurologist. Which brought her to Dr. Zhai. 1. Dr. Zhai did not take time to prepare for the appointment made 6 weeks prior. 2. Dr. Zhai was not fully listening as she was reading the notes and asking questions at the same time. It 3. The tests Dr. Zhai had my Aunt do were no different than the tests done at her previous appointment by a nurse practitioner. 4. Upon hearing my aunt’s pain management Dr. lived in Arizona she said to go to that Dr. instead of trying to help her with her new problem. Really?? My aunt is not equipped to drive for 2 days to return to Arizona. Dr. Zhai checked out at that point and told her to go to physical therapy. She never comprehended the notes or listened that her inability to walk happened in a 24 hour period. 5. She left the room without another word! Waste of money and 120 mile drive.
She kicked me and my 2 year old out of the room no explanation, was super rude and didnt ask nicely. If you have smaller children I recommend not going to her since she didnt seem to like kids.(my 2 year old wasnt even being disruptive)
Dr Zhai is amazing. She is very hands on with the care she gives my adult daughter. Also answers back through my Mercy in a timely manner. I would not want anyone else managing her chronic condition.
After waiting 4 months to get in, the day before my scheduled apt.Dr. Zhai cancelled my referral because "the wording didn't sound like I needed a neurologist." Never thought to consult with the patient about the symptoms, but because of how the nurse typed the wording in the referral, just cancelled it. Now they tell me I have to start from square one, revisit my primary care doctor again, make sure the wording is right and wait another 4 months! What a joke!
I waited 3 months for an appointment, received a letter with instructions and confirming my appointment. Arrived and paid my deductible, and taken to a room to be told I was seeing someone else. I really wanted to see Dr Zhai. I was told she was not taking new patients. They refunded my deductible and voided my appointment so I wasn't asked to review the meeting. I see on this page that she is accepting new patients. I was also told today that specialists are not allowed to deny new patients. I have a call into the patient advocate at Mercy. This upset me a lot. I have been sufferring since mid May. Now have even more symptoms. Maybe she isn't the one I needed to see but I could have been redirected sooner.
I did not l care, Dr. Zhai, the first few times that I met with her but over time I found her to be caring, she answered all my questions.
I was very pleased with my visit at the neurology department at Whiteside. Everyone from the receptioist, nurses, and Dr. Zhai. They were very personable and made me feel relaxed and welcome. The waiting time was very short and the testing explained in detailed and easy to understand terms. Dr. Zhai was very friendly and made my visit there more than pleasant. I highly recommend the clinic and wouldn't hesitate to return if I needed to. Thank you to all I met there!!
Dr. Zhai was my wife’s principle caregiver in her struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was more interested in the shoes I wore, and what I did for an occupation, than she was with my wife’s plight. She taunted my wife by repeatedly telling her how “sharp” I was, while she struggled with the loss of self. I had hopes that at the end of this medical assessment, we would receive a prescription for a drug to possibly slow this relentless disease. This would not be the case. The doctor ordered a thyroid test and recommended my wife take a daily low-dose aspirin. Dr. Zhai’s overall demeanor was more a bully than a physician. Five weeks following our initial appointment with this neurologist, we would finally have access to the drugs that could possibly help us. Cultural difference not withstanding, there is no excuse for the behavior we observed and were subjected to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
