List of St. Louis County Oral And Maxillofacial Surgery's Reviews
Staff and Dr Gray very knowledgeable. Made my dental experience as nice as possible (ie pain, caring, follow up, etc.) Also the implant and tooth look great which takes skill.
Warning: Dishonest and Disorganized This office is a mess. Appointments weren’t scheduled properly, leading to constant cancellations and delays. Even worse, they billed my insurance for procedures that were never done — which is attempted insurance fraud. I’ve been waiting over five months for a refund, and no matter how many times I call, billing never responds. The front desk just keeps saying they’ll “leave a message.” The doctor is ultimately responsible, and the whole place feels more like a Botox spa than a serious oral surgery practice. Avoid at all costs.
Facility was neat and clean. Staff were very nice and helpful . Experience was a very pleasant one.
The warms and friendliness was just impeccable! Very high level of professionalism.
I waited two plus hours was in the office for well over 4 hours to have dental work done. No dental work was done. I was lied to about them taking my insurance. After almost a week they finally called out the antibiotics which the antibiotics isn’t even used for dental infections plus it causes the same autoimmune disease I have. They will tell you however how you can pay 44 thousand dollars through credit to have teeth removed two three weeks later . This is a short version of my review. I’m seeking legal counsel for having an infection that almost killed me and they didn’t treat it for days knowing it was there.
Easily the worst medical/dental experience I have ever had. 4.5 hours after my appointment including 2.5 of it in the most uncomfortable dental chair known to man, my simple wisdom tooth extraction was completed. After they said nothing to me until I was in the waiting room 40 minutes past my appointment, the staff then told us the Dr. was running an hour and a half late. Ended up being 4 hours late. They later admitted that the reason they were so behind was because the Dr. had scheduled a dental implant that morning and those take a long time. Meaning, he knew he would be late all day but still scheduled dozens of patients. The staff continued to tell people in the waiting room it would only be a little bit longer. At one point, I had the nurse come in and tell me that we were "getting going now". The first time she told me that was 1.5 hours prior to them actually coning in to do the surgery. One apology about this the entire time from a front desk girl, and not so much as a word about it from the Doctor. To top it off, they didn't give us the irrigator we needed when we left the office. Also, the office looks like you are going to get botox or fat injections instead of what might be a major oral surgery. Doesn't scream "professional" and the whole operation seems to mimic that.
We waited a very long time to be seen. Watched videos instead of the dr explaining procedure. We were told to wait for a quote, they forget about us for over an hour. Then we got a bill because they didn't get prior approval for X-rays. We never got a call back to see if insurance approved procedure. Instead we got a bill for X-rays that were not needed.
Great facility, caring, willing to listen, and find help
Zero stars! This is the absolute worst Surgeon I've ever had the displeasure of trying to work with for my son's oral surgery. There's regular dental appointments going on at the same time as oral surgeries, which is highly unethical and unprofessional because you can't actually give each patient the true CARE they need! My son was sent out of surgery in SO MUCH PAIN and the Dr. Did not care, looked at him and said you'll be fine! He surely didn't even finish the rest of the ROOT CAUSE of his cyst and he wasn't under enough anthesia and felt so MUCH of it. They also never talked about what they give them for anesthesia which is ketamine and IDK what the heck else. Just know, if you go to this surgeon especially with a child/teenager ~ He will NOT be treating them with the care they really need. These people are all about the money! Especially him! NOT Actually fixing the root of the problem (no pun intended lol!) We have Medicaid and I think he wanted to make sure not to finish the job because he wasn't paid enough to fix the entire issue... I recommend to any parent especially don't go to their Festus location! We sat in there for 3 hours without A/c. Surgery was done WITHOUT A/c. Highly unsterile!!! We were viewed and treated as difficult because they wouldn't listen to the fact that he couldn't go home an hour away, wait on pain meds and be OK! We had to beg them to take him back in and get more numbing medicine for it and then Dr. Gray treated us like we were complete idiots and overreacting. Don't expect them to actually listen to your concerns even though your child is screaming in so MUCH pain and they tried to let him leave like that. Especially as a Mother- we KNOW our children!! I've had two hip replacements, knee surgeries, 2 C sections~ I've never been discharged from a major surgery like they tried to do to my son! He had elbow surgery at about 4 and never even cried! So, that gives you an idea of how terrible this was... I will recommend everyone to stay clear of this Surgeon. Extremely rude, didn't provide us with enough information, then was so condescending on treating his pain! But he says he "records all of his appointments" but turns it on and off as it suits him. I see him do it. Proceed with caution if you use his offices! Then when we called for our 3 week follow up - the receptionist had the nerve to say why did we need one? Crazy!!! Because we needed biopsy results!!! And a check up to make sure everything healed well etc. Ugh! The absolute Worst surgery experience of my life and my son's.
Before discovering this website, I had been looking for a reasonably priced oral surgeon for about a year. The staff is friendly and really helpful; they made my procedure go by so fast that I didn't feel like I was there for very long. I adore this location.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
