I just received (August 2025) a bill for a procedure done in December 2023. This is the second time they’ve delayed billing like this. For a procedure in December 2022, it took until July 2023 before I ever saw a bill. I thought that was bad, but waiting nearly two years is unacceptable. As a self-pay patient, I asked for a price upfront and was told they couldn’t provide one. I even called multiple times afterward requesting a bill and never received a response. No business should bill patients almost two years after providing services. This is a very poor way to treat patients.

They are negligent. My fiancé passed in October due to their negligence. I have the records and other receipts and am not going to let this go. One of the doctors admitted one of the fatal mistakes two days before he passed. I heard him. I am working with a family member since we never got a chance to get married although we basically were since we had been together for eleven years and I promise I will do right by him. He deserved better. He was a light in this dark world and I thought we would have our entire lives together. This place should shut down. What happened to ‘do no harm’? SMH

My son was seen yesterday afternoon at 7:30pm for heart palpitations.. dizziness.. high blood pressure.. we did not get back to the room till after 8pm.. the room was absolutely disgusting.. the sheet he on the bed had medical tape stuck it it in several places and looked like it hadn’t been washed EVER.. and when I asked for a new one the hit me with “oh it’s clean that was washed like that” well maybe you guys need to take that off before washing???!!! They finally got new sheets… he was not feeling well during IV and was sweating.. “the nurse stuck him twice and had blood shoot out everywhere “ about to pass out and I asked the nurse several times for a cold rag and they just kept saying oh he will cool down once he get his IV in.. everything calmed down for a min.. they got his chest XRay done.. labs and EKG.. Waited for a few hours for those results and he was given potassium which was a massive pill broken up in 4 big pieces.. he started choking and gagging on one of pieces and the nurse had no type of emotion.. no nothing and just got him a bag to throw up in.. he wasn’t sick he was CHOCKING.. Then I had called the nurse station to get him unhooked to use the restroom as he had to go pretty bad after IV fluids and 30 mins passed and NO ONE CAME.. I had to unhook my son.. he went came back to the room and I hooked him back up.. NO ONE EVER CAME.. not to mention that bathroom had NO SOAP.. and was FILTHY.. 1am gets there and finally spoke to Dr. about his results etc We did not leave that hospital till after 2am.. and what really did me in.. was the nurse that came in to discharge him and DID NOT USE GLOVES TO REMOVE STICKY TABS OFF MY SON AND HIS FREAKING IV!!!!! That is absolutely disturbing.. and I just wonder how many patients she removed bloody IVs with and touched without gloves and then touched my child!!!! I am beyond disappointed Lake Norman!! I will never trust you guys with care for my family nor myself again!!!

I don’t care what you may have heard, but this place saved my boyfriend’s life. The doctors and nurses were fantastic and I’d go here over NOVANT ANY DAY OF THE YEAR!!!!

“I walked into the ER waiting area with a homless person just sleeping on a chair pissing in the floor. nurse came out asked what he was waiting for. Seemed like nursing staff told security not make him leave according to the way they talked. Piss was on the floor for atleast 30 minutes.

I went to this hospital on 8/5/24 and it was horrible and I hope that no one had to hear and experience what I went thru. I arrived at 6PM with fluctuating pain in my abdominal area and had some type of parasite in my stool. They came and took my blood and left me a stool sample collection bowl and put an IV in around 8/9 PM. I sat in a room from then till 1AM with no one coming to say any updates or anything but I did hear a bunch of nurses and doctors laughing and making fun of other patients in the ER. I heard names, Addresses and personal information on people I don’t even know. I wrote down the names only and will be reaching out to these people to let them know that their information is amusing to the people who are suppose to be helping them. I only came to this hospital because of the rating but I don’t believe these nurses and doctors have the best in mind for the patients in this facility please beware and do not come here I am begging everyone, if you have been here I would take some form of legal action to make sure others have not heard your personal information and aliments. I actually walked out once I heard enough and I took my own IV out aswell and told the front I was leaving.

It was a patient in ER yesterday and was given morphine IVP. They shortly discharged me and rushed me out of the room with no assistance, no wheelchair or anything. I was made to walk out of the ER and collapsed in front of the nurses station. I hit my knees, my head and was told that they did not have to wheel me out! Unbelievable! They put me in a wheelchair at that point and shoved me in a consultation room and left me. No one cared that I hit my knees and head. I had to ask for a patient advocate which they said left for the day so a nursing supervisor spoke with me briefly. I had to ask for a X-rays to be done on my knees because they were hurting badly from the direct fall. So they brought me back out to the lobby to start Triage all over again and charged me another ER visit. Are you serious?!? Finally I got my X-rays but this place is disgusting. No compassion or sincere care for patients. I was treated inhumanely. They should have escorted me out by wheelchair or waited for me to fully recover from the morphine that they had just given me. Beware of this place.

WARNING: Before letting Dr. Timothy Ryan Heider touch you, please research his NC Medical Board license. Specifically the Adverse Actions taken by the board against him. If you still allow him to operate on you after reading the latest letter of public concern, I'll be praying.

Wait times are Excessive, people around us have been waiting for over four hours, no communication as to how long it’s gonna take. Terrible and unacceptable. Get more doctors and nurses on staff.

My wife had emergency surgery this morning. Yes the wait was long in the emergency room. The team apologized and was amazing. Michele the nurse in the emergency room was fabulous. She treated my wife like family. The surgery team all had to come in around 1:30am and were phenomenal and kept us informed and did a super job. The custodian didn’t get his name “wears a Yankee hat which happens to be my favorite team” said hello to everyone and saw me sleeping and offered to bring me a blanket. The team at the desk inside the emergency area kept us laughing and took some of the stress off of us. The security guard looked out for me and stopped and talked a few times. Well done everyone and thank you!
