List of Duke Physical Therapy And Occupational Therapy's Reviews
During my visits before my surgery, I would give this establishment five stars however after my right foot surgery and the inadequate care that I received, and the follow up I now would give Duke orthopedic a one-- two years later I'm still experienced discomfort pain from this simple surgery that I had with Duke-
I recently had the pleasure of working with an exceptional physical / occupational therapist by the name of Theresa H. for my therapy sessions. From the moment I arrived, her professionalism and expertise were evident. She took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and listened carefully to my concerns, which made me feel valued as a patient. Her personalized treatment plan was well-structured and tailored to my specific needs. Throughout our sessions, she demonstrated an impressive depth of knowledge about anatomy and rehabilitation techniques. She’s patient, encouraging, and always takes time to explain exercises, ensuring I understand its purpose and benefits. Besides her amazing work ethic, she also cares about individuals' lives outside of the clinic—mentally, emotionally, and physically. She truly creates a calm and trustworthy atmosphere. What truly set her apart is her ability to create a comfortable and motivating environment. Even though I’ve only had a limited amount of sessions with her—She celebrates my progress, no matter how small, which helps boost my confidence and commitment to the overall therapy process. No other therapists has given me this much courage - being that my accident was very unfortunate & I sustained a major loss. I appreciate her attention to detail, ensuring that I perform each exercise with proper form to maximize effectiveness and to prevent injury. Overall, my experience with this pt/ot therapist was outstanding. I left each session feeling stronger and more empowered in my recovery journey. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of physical / occupational therapy—her skills and compassionate approach truly make a difference.
Duke Orthopedics ruined my life and my shoulder. A shoulder replacement gone wrong. 2 years of constant pain and rehab. Run away from Duke. Surgery was unprofessional, follow up was sloppy and not even worth while. I should sue them for unethical practices.
Dr. Sarah Louanne Curry was able to quickly pinpoint my problem and checked to make sure that there were no additional complications. She is very professional with an amazing staff and well organized. Fantastic visit. I would recommend and continue to come back.
I have Cody And Patrick for my shoulder and they are both excellent!!! For my wrist and hand I had Emily before my surgery in Durham, now I have Christine and they are both excellent!!! I have been in therapy for different things since my car accident in February, and I can honestly say Duke is the best to me!!!
Brought someone here for a follow-up doctor appointment after surgery. The parking is HORRIBLE!!! When I say horrible, I MEAN IT. Be careful when parking and try to park far away from others to protect your vehicle from potential damage. The security guard was super friendly. When checking in, you do so on an iPad that the front desk gives you. The front desk staff was NOT friendly at all. The 4 stars is mainly because of the nurse, who was friendly, and the PA (Jason). Jason didn't rush the visit and allowed my friend to ask as many questions as he needed to. They made the experience great and less stressful for my friend who had to get stitches removed. He wanted to give them 5 stars, BUT that parking situation and front desk experience is why a star was deducted.
They totally misdiagnosed my shoulder and completely screwed up my surgery. My shoulder is totally trashed due to horrible surgery and follow up. Now 9 months later I'm left in pain with no response from Duke. Except for. Sorry we Fkd up Screw Duke orthopedic . I never had a problem with Raleigh orthopedic. Both Rotator cuffs No problem. Back surgery. No problem. Duke Orthopaedic is crap. Doctors are arrogant and ignorant. DO NOT GO THERE
I was referred to set appointment for physical therapy by the Duke Health Orthopedic office. Waiting time was impeccable. My appointment receptionist for check in was a shinning star. Tia was very efficient, professional, and friendly. I look forward to my appointment due to quality of staff, organization, cleanliness, and overall welcoming atmosphere.
Thank you Dr. Lau and his amazing surgery skills for my shoulder. I had torn my rotator cuff and doing well on recovery. So thankful for him and his team!
I rarely write about medical services, but when you're hurt and need a caring, good place where you don't have to consider whether people are doing their jobs well. I would not recommend Duke Ortho Urgent as a safe place to go. They used a boot a full size too large, didn't find the actual tear, and gave directions that impeded care. When I saw the non-urgent orthopedic division, they changed direction to offer helpful procedures, did a better physical exam and found the tear, ordered an MRI, and exchanged the boot for the right size. Earlier, the front desk individual had been unprofessional (not friendly, gossiping amongst each other rather than talking to patients, etc.) - but that was just poor people management, not care management. Earlier, they had messed up the billing and the manager had said it was fixed; I called billing, and the manager was incorrect. The front had also turned people away near the end of the night, unlike other care centers. The intake person had run so fast ahead, and it was hard to keep up with a foot injury; this was the same person who didn't recognize that the boot was much too large. The X-ray person was the one bright spot - communicative and helpful, even making sure I located the right room later. My overall feeling is that unlike most other places, at Duke Urgent Ortho, patient and care are just not central - and that's not what you need in an urgent situation. Fine at Chuck E Cheese. Not fine at Urgent Care. ALTERNATIVE: On the other hand, Wake Ortho Urgent was good years ago - a little farther, but what you'd expect and want - something you don't have to think about during a crisis - very professional, thorough, and caring.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
