List of Duke Physical Therapy And Occupational Therapy's Reviews
My original review was deleted lol..... Couldn't even get in to see a provider unless 4 months out.
Tara was great today. She listened to me and my concerns. She asked a lot of questions. It felt like she cared. Front desk was pleasant. Overall a great experience.
Arrived at my appointment 15 min early as recommended for my sports therapy session. The location is conveniently located near my home, quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and e-checking through the kiosk was helpful ( have a screenshot of your pre checkin on your phone for a smooth e-checkin) Unika B. & Co.
Simply put I will be in search of a new therapist. My initial visit I thought was questionable, but upon my second arrival today I was greeted by a very rude and condescending girl at the front desk and I say girl because it's exactly the way she conducted herself, like a 15yr old who woke up on the wrong side of the bed. You would've thought I knew her personally and that there were some issues between her and I. I'm still in disbelief of the interaction with her, but proud of myself for not stooping to her level.
Very professional people who know their job and give great service to their patients....
The staff members are very kind, caring, knowledgeable and professional. I have had great success with my health needs here at Duke Brier Creek. I won't go anywhere else - if I should have a need again.
Duke Hospital has saved the lives of both my mother and my child, and countless others I have known. The nurses are the heart of any hospital, and Duke has great ones, compassionate and committed. The doctors are some of the best in the world. Are you going to have perfect experiences anywhere all the time? No. But at Duke, the good has outweighed the bad at least 95% of the time in my nearly 6 decades in Durham. That's an A in my book. I've read many of the other reviews. Most of the negatives are over one instance and ring of mere pettiness, rashness, and a self-centered viewpoint. Everyone needs to learn to take a step back and look at an issue from every perspective, and be honest with oneself about your own roll in the issue, before jumping in with all the negatives.
Dr. John C Barr from Neurosurgery refused to see me after I drove 90 miles to see him. I was stopped on my way to his office due to an amber alert in the county, police had a check point. I was his last patient of the day and he refused to wait 10 minutes for me to arrive. His staff proceeded to tell me they found something “pertinent” in my MRI, yet his nurse or any of his staff refused to speak with me. I am a disabled veteran and have seen over 50 doctors in the past 5 years. He is by far the most unprofessional “medical professional,” I have ever encountered. He has ZERO compassion. A doctor that is there for his high paying profession, not the well being of his patients. He may be a good surgeon but he lacks basic human decency and ethical skill. I would highly consider seeing another physician if you do not want to be treated like a number.
I can truly understand why this organization has such a low review rating. What kind of compassionate and caring healthcare system literally sends a patient to collections for a measly 35$ without first making contact to even state there is an outstanding bill in need of payment? I not only find this appalling and completely inappropriate, but this is an unacceptable dent on my well-deserved credit rating. There are other health systems out there, my future healthcare needs will be given elsewhere, not duke!
All of my care team from nurses to specialist during my spleenectomy, paracentesis, and TIPS procedure were amazing. The liver team saved my life. If it weren't for them and my hematologist, I wouldn't be here today. God put me right were I needed to be.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
