Went in to my IN NETWORK DOCTOR for a visit and was billed for OUT OF NETWORK services . This "doctor" sent my lab work to an out of network lab (Empire City Laboratories, Inc) that tried to bill me almost $1,500 in services that are COVERED under my insurance. The bill was sent PAST the 90 day LIMIT from date of service and I was not notified that they would be sent to an OUT OF NETWORK lab (Empire City Laboratories, Inc). If I can select you as a primary care doctor IN NETWORK for IN NETWORK SERVICES I should not be billed as OUT OF NETWORK. Horrible staff that ended up costing me time and money to fix this issue that no patient should have to deal with. They tried to claim that I went to the lab (Empire City Laboratories, Inc) for the tests which is no where near me or the clinic..... Why would I go to this "doctor" for a referral for an OUT OF NETWORK lab for services that can be done at the clinic? Get it together and stop causing patients pain when you are suppose to heal them. Will be changing my PCP and not returning to this careless provider who is trying to get KICKBACKS from this lab (Empire City Laboratories, Inc).
This doctor does not accept Benefit Cards for payment so he will not have to pay credit card feeds. Could care less about the hassle that presents for the patient. You do not want a doctor who puts his own selfish greed above those of the patient. Stay away.
DR.CHEN WAS AND IM SURE STILL IS A GREAT DOCTOR. HE DELIVERED MY TWO YOUNGEST DAUGHTERS. HE HAS DELIVERED BOTH OF MY SISTERS BABIES. HE ALSO DELIVERED MY GRANDDAUGHTER. THANK YOU DR.CHEN FOR SAVING MY LIFE :-)
Great Dr.
Excellent ob Very paitent, spends quality with patients Would recommend him to anybody
I hate Dr chen he is all PLAY NO WORK, he has waaaay to many patients and from everyone I know who has had him as a Dr if they were pregnant with a boy the baby has died, including myself. He's rude at time, doesn't care how insulting he talks to u and again ALL HE DOES IS PLAY AROUND. I HONESTLY DON'T THINK HE'S A REAL DOCTOR. some one needs to do some research on this clown. If i could I would give him zero stars down
Dr Chen is a wonderful person, Docter he cares about his patients. He is very kind helpful and is there to help you and make sure you and yr baby are doing great. He makes sure yr being treated fairly . His just a wonderful person he delivered my son and made sure I was treated and cared for at all times. Not just myself but he also made sure my family was treated fairly at the hospital. Thank you Dr.Chen for everything. Ido recommend him .God bless you always. (:
When I first started seeing Dr. Chen, I was so comfortable with him. He made me feel so at ease. I ranted and raved about him to my husband. Even I raised concerns air my age and weight, he reassured me that I was in good care for me not to worry. Then I revived news that medicaid would not cover me. Not that I had any problem paying for my visits or delivery, but he did. Then is when my weight and age became a factor. After id refused specialists he explained they were pertinent to me being seen due to possible complications, gestational diabetes, preeclampsyia, birth defects, ect. You name it. His attitude towards me changed completely. I was hurt,I could read between the lines. Then I went in search of a new doctor who would see me without insurance. I was saddened by his approach and his valor when he knew that I would be covered by government aid nor private insurance.
I hated being at his office....He plays around WAY too much. He needs to at more like a doctor then a home boy....he told me that i couldn't have a ultrasound because medicaid wouldn't pay for it! I DO NOT recommend him. Oh and I DID NOT have him delivery my baby.....switched just in time I would love to know what the sex of my child is! I met a lady who was 35 weeks and didn't know if she was having a boy or girl!
I have read all the comments on Dr Chen and I have to admit there are both positive and negatives. My experience with him so far has been very positive. I am 36 weeks pregnant and recently started seeing him after I fired my last dr due to the way he treated me. when i met Dr Chen and saw that he was a "real" person, not just someone with years and years of schooling, I was completely put at ease. He does have a sense of humor that some might find offensive, but for people such as myself it's needed. Women who are pregnant need care regardless of their age, race, or INSURANCE BENEFITS. Dr Chen recognizes this and doesn't just take the time to see you he MAKES time for you no matter what. The wait to see him is definitly long but worth it in the end. He pulls no punches, tells you straight out, and is very informed and educated. Not to mention unafraid to tackle any situation- easy or life threatening- heads on. His primary concern for his OB Patients is a healthy baby, and that takes precedence over everything else. If you want a dr that knows what he's talking about, and can handle a patient no matter what walk they've had in life, I sincerely suggest you give him a call. Don't forget to take a book when you go to his office, and for the courtesy of his other patients, bring something to occupy your children as well, because you will wait. But it's WORTH it.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
