List of Optimum Health Physical Therapy's Reviews
Two stars instead of one because Francis and the other actual PT staff seemed solid - but the "front office" experience was so incompetent and frustrating that it drove me away. I say that in quotations because I guess they recently changed to a virtual front desk model where they have someone on Zoom working reception. It was confusing and off-putting to walk into the waiting room and find a computer screen in the corner instead of an actual person - multiple times I saw people sitting around waiting only without realizing that they were supposed to approach the computer, and the virtual receptionist not proactively reaching out to them, or the receptionist was trying to get someone's attention but need someone else in the room to flag them down. But in addition to the unpleasant patient experience in the waiting room, I also experienced time-wasting incompetence. I'll just detail the top hits: 1. When I called to make an appointment, the first person I spoke to seemed incredibly confused about what I was calling for and asked me multiple times which location I was interested in, then told me I could simply walk in for treatment. When I pushed back incredulously, he said I would receive a call back. Someone called me back, took my name and scheduled an appointment - great! Then over the course of the next hour and a half, they called me back and texted me four or five times, each time asking for one or two pieces of information. It was the most unprofessional and frankly bizarre scheduling experience I've ever had, but because they are located so close to my apartment, I was still willing to give them a try. 2. While I was literally sitting on the treatment table hooked up to the stim machine, someone called me and asked if I wanted to make an appointment. What? I'm literally at an appointment now (and had follow ups scheduled already). 3. I was going out of town for a couple of weeks so I scheduled my next appointment three weeks in advance. The week prior to my appointment, I received a text from them telling me there had been a scheduling error and asking me if I could come in for a later appointment instead. I replied that I could not (I am a full-time caretaker for my infant child and was squeezing the appointment in before my partner left for work). I received no reply. I had to separately call them two days before the appointment and ask them if my appointment was still on or if it had been cancelled. I was informed they had rescheduled me for the later time DESPITE my response that I could not do it, and had not informed me. After being very clear about that not working for me, they said they would call me back. When they did, they told me that while they had to put me on the schedule for the later time slot, they had spoken to the therapist and confirmed that if I came in at my original, earlier appointment time, they would be able to see me. Now, the final straw - I went in for my appointment this morning, checked in with the Zoom receptionist (who was unknowingly? screen sharing so when I walked in I was looking at people's private medical record documents) and sat down to wait. Finally after 15 minutes or so I went to ask them whether I would be able to be seen as promised. Someone from their OTHER LOCATION in Bay Ridge overheard me asking the Zoom receptionist (again, because we are all on one giant Zoom call) and helped me check the schedule. She informed me that there was no note about me being seen earlier and that I was indeed scheduled for the later appointment time, which I had been very clear that I could not make. No one deserves to have their time wasted like this, but given that I am a new parent with precious little time to dedicate to my own appointments, etc., this was just absolutely too much disrespect and unreliability. I'm sure the quality of care here is good, as others have reviewed, but the totality of this experience after four visits has me finding a new practice for my treatment.
Great location and great people loved the experience
I will always look back and thank Optimum for their help with my ACL reconstruction. Having worked with a different physical therapist right before seeing Francis, I was apprehensive. My fears soon evaporated. Francis, although very tough, got my leg back to above normal standards. I enjoyed talking to him about Cuban food and the Philippines (although he may no longer remember). I talk about this experience with such gratitude. Thank you Optimum for your help.
The place is very clean and all the staff are very friendly. The physical therapists are all very knowledgeable and understanding and attending Optimum Health has really helped me with my knee pain. I would recommend them to anyone!
Excelente servicio y trabajadores con dones especiales.Sentí mucho mejor entre solo 3 visitas.
Great place for PT! Staff is very friendly and the overall vibe of the place is very positive :)
I don’t usually go out of my way to leave reviews, but this was well deserving. I recently went through what my surgeon would call a first time traumatic shoulder dislocation. My shoulder was dislocated by a massive wave for over 4 hours before being popped back in and my shoulder was left in pain and the possibility of a full recovery was slim and I would likely require shoulder surgery at a young age. I was told to attend physical therapy and I’m so glad I ran into this place. In less than ONE MONTH, with 3 visits a week, my shoulder is back to full health and I’m lifting weights again. My surgeon was shocked and said the chances of re-dislocating were non existent, similar to before the injury. Francis and his team were not only great at their jobs but also communication. From Francis, to the interns, to the apprentices, to the front desk, they are who you need to go to. The environment feels safe, and they tend to you and make you feel like a priority. I’m happy to say I’m fully recovered and back to my normal routine thanks to them.
Optimum health and physical therapy is great. Recently went to recover after ACL Reconstruction and ended up quickly improving and being ahead of schedule in terms of timeline for recovery. Staff are all very nice and friendly. Would absolutely recommend to anyone trying to feel better physically both quickly and safely.
Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and patient staff. I am Currently being treated for an ankle injury and I feel such an improvement in mobility already after only two visits! I’m so happy I chose Optimum Health Physical Therapy for my treatment and am looking forward to making even more progress with my recovery. I highly recommend them! 5 stars!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
