I went to visit my grandma today. When I walked into the room today all I joined is how disgusting it was. There is food stains and liquid marks all over the walls, the floor hadn't been swept or mopped in at least a week, the base board had disgusting gunk all over it. The room hasn't been cleaned in months. Food and gunk on the walls from weeks maybe months ago. My Grandma has been there 1 week. So it isn't from her. One of the nastiest rooms I've ever seen and it is in a nursing home. Pathetic and disgusting.
My mother was place in this facility on 10-5-21.During the first visit with her ,I noticed her oxygen was on 6 liters .Her oxygen setting has always been 2 liters. When I confronted a staff member about this ,I was told that my mother must have changed it. This was not possible as my mother at this point was immobile .Consequently ,this was the beginning of my mothers concerns and fears .She begged me to get her out of there on a daily basis which was not possible as I live in Georgia .I told her I would be in next week as I have a planned trip to New York. After this debacle my mother's anxiety skyrocketed and it is my firm belief that my mother was severely medicated to the point that she was unable to communicate in a literate fashion. What really haunts me is my last conversation with her. She was literally crying for me to get her out of this place. Consequently, I feel that I was deprived of having any meaningful conversation with her and I really lament the fact that I was unable to say goodbye to her .Obviously, this writing will do nothing to remedy this gross incompetence and neglect ,though it is my hope that anyone considering putting a loved one in this facility does there due diligence reading the many negative internet reviews on Susquehanna nursing. My brother and I cared for her at home for years sadly she passed on 12-6-2021.I love you Mom. I strongly believe my mother would be with us if she had not entered this facility. Now they are calling me two days before Christmas trying to get help with insurance paperwork , I will not speak with anyone from this place,so please respect me and quit calling. The third shift workers on the floor she was on I will pray for you , she told me everything.
worst place. mother went in 118 lbs, came out 83. she was dehydrated, dirty, and couldn't walk. she went in there for rehab because she couldn't walk and came out and couldn't walk. they almost killed my mother
If you are thinking of putting your loved one in this facility, THINK AGAIN!! My mother is currently in their facility and they have threatened us with taking over her money! They have neglected her to the point where she has been ill 4 times in less than 6 months AND they never get her out of her bed. The room is disgustingly dirty right down to feces on the wall. We are moving her ASAP!
Stay away. They are terrible caregivers. Rude and they ignore the patients all day.
They could stop abusing their residents. My father is a resident and he has developed a bed sore from their neglect. He had been manhandled by the aides and when he told them they were hurting him the male attendant yelled at him turned off the lights and slammed the door leaving my father laying in the dark unable to get out of bed. His call bell is ignored and he is told he is being “difficult”. He’s there recovering from surgery and the staff ignores his cries of pain when they’re shove, push and pull the arm he had operated on. With Covid I can’t even get in to see him so they are free to abuse the residents as they please. Oh, and they’ve lost his clothes too. Currently trying to get him out of there. Don’t let anyone you know and love become a resident here.
Personel were very helpful
As I scrolled through the pictures, you do not see one CNA, the DON carries a dog around the facility, it’s absolutely disgusting, she’s worried more about what she looks like rather then the residents. Some staff is decent, the place is filthy always short staffed and seem to get rid of the decent staff they do have. My mother waited to use the bathroom for over two hours, I wouldn’t recommend putting any of your loved ones here. So sad.
My mom was a resident there for a few years. I was thankful for the loving care she received while she was there. She considered It home and enjoyed the staff and the activities very much.
As an advocate for the elderly resident in nursing home care ,this is what I have to say regarding some comments posted. The thankful wishes are appreciated. The population of elderly residents we now care for have complex medical needs. The staff who provide direct care are assigned to a number of residents , and work tirelessly to meet the needs of the many people they care for, and their families."Short staffing" is not isolated to any one nursing home. See what a CNA/LPN in this setting makes hourly and ask yourself if you would do the job! Most people would'nt. Because not just anyone can do this. These people rearrange their personal and family lives to be here to care for others. And people are more likely to point out a negative rather than a positive aspect or experience.Which can sometimes feel disheartening when you've worked so hard! So what makes this all come together. There is someone at the reigns 24/7 to ensure that resident safety , needs and rights are upheld. The oversight ,direction and caring from a Director of nursing is key.The glue that holds it all together ,and the oil to make the machine run! Walk in the shoes of one of these people for a day ,and see how critical you would be of the work we do!
My grandmother was a resident here and I wouldn't have wanted her to go to any other nursing facility in the area.First impression is always lasting, and you notice how clean it is once you walk through the door; no urine or bad smells whatsoever like 99% of nursing facilities. Housekeeping manager goes above and beyond. My grandmother was difficult to say the least and the nursing staff was great with her. They knew how to approach and handle her; which is what I am the most grateful for.She didn't like to be involved in many activities but the activities department would get her to participate and go on some trips. One of her daily favorites was getting to see Jasmine, the Director of Nursing's dog. This always made her day as she was an animal lover!*Best rehab team around! She had been to a few nursing homes and this was by far the best one.
Nice spot - could always be a bit cleaner but understandable given the local climate and culture of allowing outside shoes inside. Most staff are helpful but food offered is not too enjoyable or helpful.
The staff here loves the residents like they are family. I can speak from expierence.!!
Food is disgusting and if your not strong enough to feed yourself you will starve because the staff doesn't help you. I don't recommend this facility to care for your loved ones. Find another nursing home!!!
Short staffed, very unhappy staff. No one communicated at all, no one could ever answer questions. My Mother’s room was always dirty, teeth never cleaned. At her discharge meeting no one really seemed to know what was going on, went to pick her up the next day, nothing was ready, no wheelchair, no walker, her oxygen never got delivered, again her room a mess, clothes missing, nothing packed. And the worst part was not ONE person even said goodbye to her!! I would NEVER go there again!
How about making sure the patients there actually eat a healthy meal. Food is disgusting and if your not strong enough to feed yourself you will starve because the staff doesn't help you. I don't recommend this facility to care for your loved ones. Find another nursing home!!!
Don't go here.
The staff was very pleasant and took their time answering our questions, my mother enjoys her time there
