Schofield Residence's Online Review Report Card

3/2022  This facility NEEDS A-LOT OF ATTENTION!!! Most of the staff is hugely inattentive, unprofessional, and MOST (but not all, there are some that have to run around picking up the slack and cover for them while still doing their own jobs), just seem to not want to work and do their jobs. It appears that there isn't any supervision whatsoever and the aides do whatever they like, hiding out in empty rooms on their cell phones, hanging out at the front nurse's station desk chit chatting, or else they're nowhere to be found. When you walk down the hallway and look in the rooms, it's pathetic some of the patients are naked or half dressed with nothing on the bottom, some literally hanging out of their beds, some slumped over in their wheelchairs sleeping, God only knows for how long, they have to beg to go to the bathroom, beg to go to bed actually beg for any kind of attention they are in need of after they've had their "light" on for a good five to ten minutes or so.... I realize that the facility might be understaffed, therefore I've  tried to be understanding and patient but the lack of care our loved ones receive is shameful! I could go on and on but I hope I've made myself clear so far and please DO NOT send your loved one's there!!

My Mom was here for 2 1/2 months, first in Rehab, then in the Nursing home category, all because they essentially gave up on my Mom and were perfectly happy to have her lie in bed or sit in a Wheelchair for the rest of her life, walking wasn't a goal for them! Got her out of there and within 1 month, she was walking over 500 ft and got her personality and sense of humor back. This place almost robbed her of that! The Director of Nursing is highly unprofessional and tried to gaslight us when we wrote a letter about our concerns regarding her care. DO NOT send your loved one here! Two stars because her therapists were actually caring and helpful, but seems they had their hands tied by the establishment.

Worked for a 2 weeks and didn’t receive my pay check in the mail everyone seemed so nonchalant about me not having it especially someone named “karen” she was very unprofessional about the situation and I don’t appreciate it at all

This facility is poorly operated and the Director of Nursing Heather and the Social Worker Jenna Kent are extremely unprofessional.The lack of patient care is deplorable and the staff are not well trained or are well informed of the procedures. Everyone seems to have a different procedural understanding. I highly do not recommend this facility to your love ones.

The care at the facility is disgusting, staff does not wear their masks properly.They have people half naked lying in beds without care and doors wide open. The social worker Jenna Kent is useless. Filthy dirty rooms, hallways filled with equipment, avoid this place, the State of New York investigate asap.

This rehab facility is a joke! The first day my mother was there they never gave her any of her medications and she had an accident in her bed and had to lay in it for awhile cuz nobody came to help... second day she had yet another accident in the bed hit the call button and took almost an hour for someone to come help her.. and all they did was give her some IBS medication and still left her to lay in her own pee!!!!!! DOWN RIGHT DISGUISTING!!!! Oh and even if my mother is a tad difficult if the nurses can't be nice they don't belong in that field! Two nurses in specific in the day shift I don't know their names are being absolutely terrible to my mother!Hell with this place stay far far far far away!Oh and Rose don't come and tell me im sorry about you're experience or this or that look at all you're bad reviews fix your damn facility and hire staff that treat there patients nicely!

I didn’t feel they were use to minority males. I felt that the facility was not welcoming of black males working there. I have been a nurse for many years but back in 2008 when I was a CNA, they treated me unfairly. I quickly went to nursing school and became a nurse but the nursing management was horrible then.

Went to attempt to visit a family member on hospice. I couldn't understand how they are running a business. I was under the impression that you can now see family if everyone is fully vaccinated but we were denied access, especially if in hospice. I was told one member through the weekend, no visits during the holidays, and shutdown if someone was positive. Guess what? Someone was positive for covid and they still allowed visitors!!!!! My family member has breathing issues and tried for 3 or more hours to get their cpap. Nurse came in gave a blanket and said "you dont need it". I knew growing up, this person has breathing issues regardless. They eventually called police to be discharged out of the facility. I do suspect neglect/abuse after seeing brusing on the arm. They verbalized how awful the staff was. I know this person is one to NEVER complain so the fact something is said is a serious matter.They are happier in a hospital. Isn't that crazy???

My grandmother went into this facility with a full set of dentures. Somewhere along the way, her dentures were "lost." Instead of notifying me, or in any way attempting to rectify the situation, they kept feeding my 94 year old Grams solid food. Guess who didn't eat? Guess who lost a tremendous amount of weight? Guess who DIED weeks after finally being released, because she never recovered?
