Dr. Rosas and his team are amazing. On 1/7/22 they repaired my ankle by placing a plate on my ankle and screwing it into the bone. They also repaired the ligament by securing it to the bone. As of tomorrow it will be two weeks since surgery and it is feeling great. His PA Tracy is very knowledgeable and helpful. Denise, his Patient Care Assistant is very personable and helps in any way she can
I was extremely pleased with Dr. Rosas— he is kind,he is very knowledgeable, and takes the time with his patient .I would definitely recommend him .
Fell and ruptured right knee quads and tore meniscus. Went to emergency room, and next day, Sunday morning, dr. Rosas operated. Put screws in bone and sutured tendons back in place…not an easy job! Next day…I walked. Day after that I went up stairs. I will be in rehab for quite a while, but I am getting better every day. I could not ask for anything more.
My experience with Dr. Rosas was not positive at all. I had a foot ulcer and a foot deformity and he wanted to amputate. He never checked BP or pulse or my medical records or even looked at my foot. I went for a second opinion and so glad I did with another orthopedic surgeon even though I had to wait to see him because that surgeon was and is in high demand. I am very much on the road to full recovery and full use of my foot.
I was very disappointed with the length of my treatment so I went to a new doctor and ended up having to have surgary. Im recovering very well now. Should have gone to the new doctor first. I've been b out of work for 7 months
A little late to the party for rating Dr. Rosas, but I’ve read reviews that people don’t like how he presents himself, and I can kind of understand that. BUT, he did both of my foot surgeries and was awesome about it. He can have kind of an off putting attitude sometimes, but he got the job done and I’m in way less pain. I had seen a few other docs before him that said nothing was wrong, but he could see the issues in the X-ray in one appointment. I also saw someone say he doesn’t prescribe pain meds after surgery, and I’m not sure why he didn’t for them, but he did for me. And even gave us no hassle when my husband called to change them because they weren’t working or were giving me a bad reaction. I’d ask him that directly. If you’re direct with him, he will be direct with you!
My dad's girlfriend had heel cord surgery two weeks ago. After the surgery he didn't want to see her for nearly two weeks, never called to see how she was doing nor returned her phone call when she was in excruciating pain a week later. Went to get the stitches out today. Wasn't put in a cast but a walking boot instead and was told at the end of the appointment he didn't want to see her for a follow up.
Go see Dr. Dellanbough Ortho NY for 2nd opinion. Rosas wanted to fuse my ankle give me a peg leg. Instead I have a new working ankle in 2 directions for last 1 year.
I am sure he is a competent physician, but after going thru at least three years of podiatrist injections of steroids into my feet, physical therapy and insoles, then developing bone bruises in both feet and being unable to walk or stand without significant pain - I was told by Dr Rosas “people get used to the pain”. I’ve had a knee replacement and multiple surgeries on my hands for bone spurs and thumb joint replacement. I am 62 years old and see no reason to endure more pain. Switching to a diff provider since prior to Rosas, Dr Silver has been instrumental in helping me win against degenerative arthritis.
I agree with you based on my experience with Dr. Rosas. Don't go to him no compassion for your pain. Horrible
He didn’t have the most up to date medical information on procedures to correct bunion. He told me to take 3 ibprofin a day and for a lack of a better phrase “get over it”. He then told me it’s not like it’s heart surgery and really isn’t something I need. This really hurt because I’ve been dealing with this pain since I was less than 10 years old. I can’t run and I can’t stand for over 30 minutes. I walked out of his office feeling selfish, confused, and scared to pursue my own wellbeing. Luckily I got a second opinion with a more qualified podiatrist and can happily say I found the right match. Don’t settle for Dr. Rosas, and I wouldn’t trust his “word” either. Be careful.

Does anyone know why he doesn’t give pain meds after a surgery,? To me this sounds pretty barbaric?
The most disappointing doctor I have yet experienced for any health issue. I have had problems with my 'big toe' for several years. I started seeing Dr. Rosas nearly two years ago and he cannot identify the issue. The pain can be so uncomfortable that it often wakes me at night. And there is clearly an issue as bruising is evident. Save time, money and frustration by NOT using Dr. Rosas.
Saw Dr. Rosas twice for Achilles tendonosis. Never got an XRay even though I asked about doing one. Final recommendation from him was medical marijuana. Later saw another ortho specialist, and got an immediate Xray, and left seeing and knowing exactly what the problem was.
Dr Rosas did multiple ankle surgeries to repair my subtalar joint.First surgery was July 2018. Post surgery I had the stitches taken out by an unqualified staff member, as the wound was leaking and stitches should have never been taken out this early. Consequently I caught a staph infection.I endured multiple surgeries to clean the inside of the wound and endured severe pain. Last surgery was Jan. 2019. Each time I was sent home from hospital with 1 week of pain medication. Each follow up visit (and there were many) I stated that I was in severe pain, each time my pleas for pain medication were dismissed as Dr. Rosas refused to write prescription for severe pain, he stated that he could lose his job and that didn't I know there is an opioid epidemic going on? No compassion was shown at all. After 5 months of follow up appts., I was making no progress in healing and his reasoning was that "these type of surgeries take time to heal", I was told in May that I will probably need another surgery at which point I consulted another Orthopedic foot surgeon. It was determined that one of the two metal pins Dr. Rosas had inserted was literally sticking outside of the bone and every step I took, the metal screw was pushed into tissue resulting in severe pain. Dr Rosas took away my quality of life for 1 year, at which point my left leg suffered atrophy as I still needed to keep wearing the ortho boot. Not to mention I could not take boot off to enjoy summer activities at the lake and ocean, walk my dog in the woods,or do multiple activities I was accustomed to. If I have to walk any distance I need to use a knee scooter, and trust me this is very limiting in activities I used to enjoy so much. I think you may get the picture of how this has limited my quality of life emotionally and physically. I scheduled surgery for Sep. 2019 to re-insert hardware into the joint correctly. I never had the surgery, as I was diagnosed with cancer in Sep. 2019, one week before surgery date. Now, I must continue to wear ortho boot and endure the pain in my ankle as surgery is not an option with pancreatic cancer. Nor will I be able to live out the short time I have left enjoying things I like to do, or may have been able to accomplish. If Dr Rosas had only performed the surgery to his best ability, with less haste in decisions, spent the extra time, listened to his patient, it would have made all the difference in world to my time..... I have left.
put two screws in my subtalar joint one is sticking out side the talus bone creating enormous pain in the tissue and nerves. these screws will need to be taken out and put back in right in the meantime I have had complications for over a year to walk again. I repeatedly complained about the pain and was ignored. Another physician immediately found the pin sticking outside of the bone
Worse experience ever. Long wait and he acted like he could not be bothered. He hardly looked at my foot and never looked at my x-rays. Highly unprofessional. Do yourself a favor, and find someone else!
Worse doctor ever. Do not waste your time. Hour wait and then he acts like he is rushed and can't be bothered.
