List of David Salvage, M.D., Fapm's Reviews
I've been seeing Dr. Salvage since 2019, and his compassionate care has made a lasting difference in my life. He listens with genuine empathy and brings a thoughtful, steady presence to every conversation. Since working with him, I've found a consistent peace of mind that I'm not sure I thought was possible previously. I'm deeply grateful for his guidance and support.
11 years ago I found myself in search of a new psychiatrist, preferably one that was thorough and comprehensive. Fortunately for me, and my loved ones, in 2014, I found Dr. Salvage's phone number and address. We immediately found common ground, hitting it off famously. Dr. Salvage has been patient and kind with me. His attention to detail is unmatched. I really don't know where I'd be without him. If you're looking for a true professional, David is your doctor.
Exceptional care, insights, hands on and productive sessions , lessons of which last a lifetime. Highly endorsed. Professional acumen of the highest level.
Stay away, especially at $350 for a visit. and we all know how long phychiatrist visits take. well in that 5 minutes he prescribed me with bi polar meds that have a high level of warning with my heart meds. getting robbed free will was pretty bad, but then again could have been potentially worse if i havent been seeing a therapist for 15+ years. its amazing how these docs still prescribe doxepin at let alone 100mg for sleep, and 300mg of trazadone to sleep time to go back to school. i shoulda listened to my gut and walked right back in and took my money from this quack. STAY AWAY, even if you can afford him. he claimed to be some guru and i was off my meds so any price would be worth it, if actually what needed
"In my experience, psychiatrists tend to be bad, mediocre or good. Dr. Salvage, however, is better than good; he is GREAT. He is not only an excellent clinician but also a truly wonderful person. His understanding, concern, compassion and humanity shine through in all he does. He listens without judgment, he suggests options without requiring blind obedience, he hears his patients and responds thoughtfully to their concerns, and he is willing to admit that neither psychiatry nor psychopharmacology are exact sciences. He sees himself in a dialogue with his patients on a journey that can be unpredictable and challenging; one whose outcome can rarely be absolutely guaranteed but is so worth pursuing. He is also deeply sensitive to a patient's family. He understands the role they can play and encourages their participation when appropriate. He also realizes and responds to the stress a patient's illness can create within the family. Dr. Salvage is tireless in supporting his patients, building their self-awareness and crafting interventions that acknowledge the uniqueness of each one. ... and that is why he is GREAT."
Because of the 2 previous experiences I had with psychiatrist, I was kind of skeptical. I knew that I had things in my life that I had to deal with, but did not really understand how a psychiatrist could actually help me with that. It turns out I was just seeing the wrong psychiatrist. Dr Salvage has such a soft, gentle, and comforting way about him, which from start I found very calming. He is completely nonjudgemental, and makes it so easy to talk to him about anything, which has always been hard for me, but I felt very comfortable talking to him from the beginning, and he has really helped me in that area. Dr Salvage has also proven to me that he actually really cares about his patience in a real way, unlike the previous psychiatrists I went to, who I felt really just looked at me as a check. The doctor I saw before Dr Salvage began to take on other members of my family as his client, claiming that it was a normal and beneficial thing to do. Dr Salvage refused to do it, letting me know that it was an unethical thing to do. Doctor Salvage is one of the most kind and ethical people I've known, and is an excellent doctor who I would recommend to anyone. AAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++
David Salvage twisted and manipulated info that he released to the employer without consent. Below practice has a good reputation of caring professionals: 223 Franklin St Brooklyn, NY 11222 b/t Freeman St & Huron St Phone number(347) 765-0904 Business websitewilliamsburgtherapygroup.com
Dr Salvage is a joke of a doctor. I referred a family member of mine to him since he is a local psychologist he over prescribed and completely mistreated my family member furthering there depression and anxiety down spiral. Than has the nerve to blame his incompetence on our local pharmacy. He further never picks up his phone nor follows up with patient care calls which is a complete terrible way to run a practice for patience with anxiety. After several weeks of dealing with this quack I got my family Member into a real psychologist. Recalibrated her meds educated her and treated her accordingly she's now doing 100% better. Unprofessional pill meddling quack doctors like this shouldn't be practicing and I'm thankful Yelp gives us a platform to voice our reviews.
I just spoke to him on the phone and wish he took my insurance what a very sweet man !
I work in the addictions field and Dr. Salvage is my go-to referral source for my clients in need of a psychiatrist. He is warm, personable, ethical and extremely knowledgeable in the field of addiction psychiatry. He truly cares for his clients and has their best interest at heart.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
