My relative is a patient of Park Jewish Institute's Parker At Your Door program, and receives medical house calls through this service. It is a godsend! No more ferrying my relative to doctors appointments, and even the lab work and x-rays are done brought to the house. The staff is very attentive. My entire family is grateful for this service through Parker.
They do not require residents to be vaccinated against Covid . When you ask that question you get a “we have a very high vaccination rate .” Read the NYT report on nursing homes and you will see how the state’s ranking of nursing homes is a bunch of baloney . Nursing homes do not have to report how many residents have Covid - only the ones that die and perhaps are hospitalized. Thanks to our former governor, we know that number is skewed . My mom is there and has Covid. My dad caught Covid from a resident . I’ve walked in and seen visitors in rooms without masks and not be told anything by staff. Look up the salaries of the CEO,COO… this place is not cheap ( none of them are) and you’ll see where your money is going - it certainly is not to the care of patients. The place is very pretty on the outside and in the main hallway but what goes on behind the ward doors is disgusting.
Idk what was worse, getting stuck behind the worst driver in the tri-state, or getting stuck behind the worst driver in the tri-state while staring at this awful decal of what I can only assume was a picture of the driver and his partner. Learn to merge and maybe drive a little faster cause I don't think your target population has that much time to waste.
Awful place. They truly dont care. The attitude from some of the staff was bad. The employees here seem to not care.
I DO NOT recommend this facility. Understaffed and not able to care for patients properly and timely. If you have another option, use it and go someplace where management cares for its staff and patients.
If I can give them 0 stars I would. Everything about this place is terrible. My mother in law has been in rotation from Parker to the hospital for the last few year and there has never been any improvement while at Parker Jewish. If this is your family members only option please search for another one. The entrance is always pack with incompetent employees (expect for 2 young black males and one young Indian female they are amazing), but once your able to go to your actual floor you will be lucky if your able to see even one employee. You will constantly hear patients calling and crying for help nonstop and see no one go. If you want to call the building for a family member or any information good luck because you’ll never get an answer. I honestly have no clue how they are business.
1 star would still be giving Parker way more credit than it deserves. Any further comment would be redundant. I completely agree with all the other negative comments. Look at all of the photos on their website-they are new and up to date. This is only of the second floor. All of the other floor are old, dirty, dark and NEED to be updated. The administration constantly gives the run around and will feed you the answers you want to hear. Patients lay in bed after hitting the button for hours before staff helps. Please do not send your loved ones here. I’m sorry to the very few aids that try and make this place better than it is.
When you see constant new 5 star reviews, those can be fake reviews or reviews from people that have been asked by the administrator to write a review to boost their rating There are good reviews that are real, but those are for short term rehab, not for long term care. This place is not what it appears to be. Take the negative reviews seriously. If your family member is going for short term rehab, it's fine or least it was before COVID. But if you care about your loved one, do not put them here for long term care. The place is understaffed, the staff is overworked and trust me when I tell you that your loved one will suffer and suffer a lot. We can only pray that this place and other NY nursing homes will be brought to justice for the unacceptable "care" that so many of our elders have had to endure, all in the name of greed. Turning a blind eye to the mistreatment of our elderly has been profitable for too long. But the good news is that finally, nursing homes and the corruption that has allowed them to get away with what they've been getting away with for decades, are being exposed and will continue to get exposed. Stay away! Do whatever it takes to keep your family member out of PARKER.
PARKER JEWISH INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH AND REHABILITATION IS ONE OF THE WORST THERAPY FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRY!I WISH I COULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A REVIEW WITH NO STARS ⭐️. LETS START WITH DISPATCHING OPERATOR’S WHO HAVE NO SWITCHBOARD SKILLS AND IF U ASK TO BE SWITCHED TO A DEPT, PREPARE TO CALL 20 TIMES B4 YOU ACTUALLY GET THRU. THE WHOLE NURSING STAFF ON FLOOR 3 ARE DISGUSTING. THE PATIENTS CONSTANTLY COMPLAIN ABOUT THE NURSES NOT PERFORMING THEIR JOB DUTIES , AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANY PATIENTS WELL BEING, AND THEIR ATTITUDES IN A FACILITY AS SUCH, ANGERS ME . BETWEEN THE UNPROFESSIONALISM AND INABILITY TO DELEGATE DUTIES OF THE SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS AND THE NURSES ARE MEAN TO PATIENTS AND KEEP IN MIND THESE PATIENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING PHYSICAL THERAPY AND BEING CARED FOR ! IF ANYONE HAS A LOVED ONE WHOM YOU CARE FOR STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!!!!!PARKER INSTITUTE NEEDS TO B RAIDED BY THE FEDERAL GOVT AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO INTERVENE ON THE PRACTICES GOIN ON IN THIS PLACE . THEY ARE HOLDING PATIENTS CAPTIVE TO SCAMMING MONEY OUT OF THE ELDERLY AND INS COMPANIES NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT…. 🤦🏾♂️PLEASE KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES FAR FROM THIS H.. HOLE!!!!!!!

After speaking with the supervisor of reviews about my concerns with Facetiming with my Uncle, the following time time I signed-up, I did receive my call. I was impressed with the concern that was shown, as well as the successful follow-up and resolution. I look forward to continuing my Facetimes with my Uncle.
The pictures shown are VERY inaccurate or may be of their updated floors/areas. On the 3rd floor it is dark and sad looking. The beds are very small and there are NO hospital beds as shown (or at least beds with rails). The rails have to be approved by a higher power that no one tells you who and when they are "approved" by 1 person you will find out another person disapproves of them; They call the rails a Restraint and therefore can't have them. When you press the call-bell no one responds (I tested this out since I did not believe my loved one and no one came after 15 mins of waiting - even after I went to the nurses station to check that the bell was working). They are blaming everything on Covid yet the staff are not always wearing their masks/PPE inside the facility. Medical care is also lacking so do not go there unless you are 100% healthy as RNs appear overburdened; the LPNs/PCAs do most of the work and appears there is only 1 RN to supervise - from a distance. As for the rehab portion - we were told the use of the gym would be part of OT/PT yet after admission are told that the gym is closed due to covid.. how can that be.. in any case, PT/OT come to bedside for aprx 10 mins each (not the 1.5hrs told to us before admission and what they bill for) to do simple exercises that you can do on your own. Outrageous! the PT director was supposed to call me to discuss yet here we are 2 days later and no call from David.. message was supposed to be given by Lina Scacco. I am hoping that I am missing the bright light light here and will change this review if I am wrong, but so far the above are 100% true and accurate, sadly...

Our grandmother was at the Indian Unit at Parker Jewish. Although for a very short period, the staff in the Indian Unit was extremely caring and helpful. We are very grateful to Molly Joseph for her professionalism. We can't thank Sujata Seth and Dr Saroj Shah for going above and beyond in making our grandmother's stay a good one. Thanks again to the whole staff and team.
If you want to lose your license apply for a job here. 35 patients to 1 LPN and you have to do every single care for the 35 resident and paperwork included. The state visits verrrrry often and there is a lot of out of compliance going on in the faculty. They would cover up and put on a show when the state is there and as they leave the next day it is back to 1 nurse per 35 patients. Managements and supervisors are rude, disrespectful and mistreats the employees. New hires quit as fast as they get in and notice the doll house. Do not apply to work at this place you will be sorry especially that you have a license to protect. Take your family members elsewhere at least you’ll know your family member won’t die not knowing you sent them gifts for Christmas and you’re package was not delivered to them but sat in their room until they die and the room is being cleared out.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely the worse facility. My parent got covid while in this facility, got vaccinated, and the facility is still unable to arrange visitation. The nurses are completely unresponsive when trying to facetime and all-around the care has been subpar. My recommendation is to find a different facility.
My experience with Parker Jewish Institute has been amazing from the start. Everyone from the clinical staff to the executives are caring individuals who seem to love what they do. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to care for there loved ones.
If I can only put ZERO will definitely do. All hospitals and other facilities were giving a vaccine for COVID-19 however PARKER JEWISH INSTITUTE ARE NOT WELCOME TO DO THAT. I am a frontliner too however NOT YET an EMPLOYEE of that facility. Frustrated frontliner.
Terrible place. Nobody answers phones at nursing station. Patients left by themselves who are at fall risk. Linens soiled and not changed. Never bring your loved ones to this place. A prison cell would be better off. You ask the RN a question and they’re rude. I asked the CNA that the patient requires attention and he says he has 11 other patients to take care of. Extremely under staffed. There is absolutely no compassion towards care of the patient
