This is my second rehab stay and I am grateful for the kind and warm nursing , rehab, and doctor staff. although its not home, I feel my 3 broken bones wont be my limitation!!! They believe in me, comfort me , encourage me not matter how anxious I get. The nursing aides work hard, and when I watch, its so nice to see them hold peoples hands and try to please so many people. I cant use my arms , and the staff make sure I look okay and presentable. The cleaning staff, sorry I dont know their title, are alwysa moving, mopping, dusting and are kind. I love the entertainment and socials. The food is really good too.I gained 10 pounds. I do hope to go home soon but I know Im in good hands
Something must have changed because my mom was there for subacute treatment and is now residing in the nursing home. She loves it there. Shes well taken care of 24-7 by a caring and knowledgable staff, she has many activities that she enjoys and has made friends with other residents. She enjoys the food and sleeps well and if something should happen, the hospital is right there. The staff will work with you and the insurance companies such as getting the resident on Medicaid. The place is big and airy with a huge window in the cafeteria that gets plenty of sun. I'm extremely relieved my mom is there.
Just a few words to express.my gratitude and appreciative for the warm.and wonderful care our mother received .. the nurses and supervisor were so skilled, lovely and attentive and the dietician was so smart ....thank you Parker and its administration! never easy well done!
In my line of work I visit many geriatric facilities and I have to say Parker is one of if not the most complete and well maintained facility in NY. Parker has amenities, activities and services that other facilities don’t offer. Their nursing staff is both skillful and compassionate. If I had a family member that needed care beyond my reach my first choice would be Parker hands down.
My grandmother has been a patient at Parker Institute several times over the past five years. Each time she had completed rehab, made a remarkable recovery and returned to her assisted living. Unfortunately, she was readmitted in Dec following a fall and now after rehab needed to remain for LTC. She has always received remarkable care and excellent rehab. There was no hesitation regarding choices when we needed to make decision for LTC.
My mother has been at Parker for about 6 months. After a fall she had a broken hip and a brain bleed, and was minimally responsive, on a feeding tube. The Team at Parker NEVER gave up on her, or us as a family. They met with us on a regular basis and addressed every concern and question we had, with professionalism and compassion. Thanks to the care and dedication of the staff, mom now eats on her own, and has a quality of life we didn't think was going to happen. I can't recommend Parker more highly.
Parker Jewish is a great place for rehabilitating. My father broke 5 ribs and already had challenges with his left side from a stroke he had years ago. Not only did they provide top notch physical and occupational therapy for his injury, we also saw improvement with his impaired left side. They also identified a brace to help his left side when he goes home to help prevent future falls. They look out for the short term and long term improvements and support. The facility is really nice. They have tropical fish tanks and nice decor to make it look more like home. Very clean, bright and cheery. They have a area for patients to watch tv with others, eat meals together, and has various activities to break up the day.As great as that all sounds, in the end it comes down to the people. The staff was very friendly and really made my father feel comfortable. They really took great care of him, talked to him, and helped him make tremendous strides. It is priceless to know your loved one is in a great place, with great people, and making great progress recovering. Highly recommended.
My experience with Parker Jewish Institute has been amazing from the start. Everyone from the clinical staff to the executives are caring individuals who seem to love what they do. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to care for there loved ones.
My mother-in-law is a resident at Parker Jewish Institute requiring Hospice care. She has been there for over 5 months. She has been receiving excellent medical care with a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. Parker Jewish is one of the few institute in the area let alone the country that I know of that can meet my mother-in-law’s needs both medically and emotionally. My mother-in-law can only communicate in Gujarati and with the Indian unit at Parker Jewish Institute, she has felt at home. She is able to participate in activities from her culture and have nursing aid who can communicate in her native language. I am thankful to Tara Buonocore - Vice Executive Vice President and Lina Scacco - Assistant Vice President for all help.I am a physician practicing in Queens for over 35 years and I will continue to refer patients to Parker Jewish Institute who require subacute and chronic rehabilitative careWe are thankful to Parker Jewish Institute and the Indian Unite Initiative Committee to establish such an excellent Indian Unit at Parker Jewish Institute. This is fulfilling the needs of the Indian community residing in Queens and Long Island who require such type of care.
My grandmother was at this facility for a few years and passed away with the staff she loved and trusted. Always wished we could take her home but knew she would get the best care right at Parker. Never got a bed sore and ate well. She adored her aides and nurses ,they were her extended family. This , we as a family, found comfort in! Thank you Parker nurses for being kind and warm !!!!
