List of Tom Hannam's Reviews
Don't lose your time here. Convenient location but terrible stuff (yes real!). A general negative environment where they don't want success easily because they want from you, all your pocket. Ok, money is fine if they are good. Time is important, and they waste your non-reversible time. This place should be banned from service
I'm glad to see other patients had a good experience with Dr. Hannam and the HFC team, but I unfortunately did not. I was originally under the excellent care of Dr. Redmond until her retirement in July, at which point I was transferred to be under the care of Dr. Hannam. To this day I have had zero communication with him directly. After waiting for well over a month for my phone consultation appointment, it was cancelled & rescheduled without any explanation or apology. Since then I have only communicated with the nursing team regarding my plan and results. This is unacceptable and a stark contrast to the excellent care and level of communication that I received with Dr. Redmond. I felt pressured and unseen the entire way along with Dr. Hannam. The nursing team relayed messages from Dr. Hannam, saying that his plan for me was to have a sonohysterogram, followed by a fully medicated round of IVF. I requested to stay with the plan that I had under Dr. Redmond, which was to do an unmedicated transfer. I had push-back from the nursing team on this, but ultimately they agreed that it was unnecessary to do the sono & extra medication based on my history. During monitoring I was pressured to stop my cycle, force a period, and to do a fully medicated round for my following cycle. Again I had to advocate for myself, insisting that my cycles are longer than average, and that I just needed a couple more days of monitoring. Again, I was met with frustration and push back, to the point where I e-mailed the clinic insisting that I speak with Dr. Hannam directly about my plan of care. I never got so much as an e-mail from him. Sure enough, I ovulated when I thought I would and we were able to move forward with the transfer. The nurse who had been curt with me also apologized, and recognized that it was a good thing that I advocated for myself. After all of this, and with still no communication from Dr. Hannam, I was scheduled to have my transfer. On the day of the transfer I was told that Dr. Hannam was “unavailable”, and I was put under the care of another doctor for the procedure. Thankfully that doctor was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately the transfer didn’t work, and I was given the heartbreaking news of a negative pregnancy test last Monday. I was told that Dr. Hannam would call or e-mail in a day or two with sympathy, information on what to expect from this period, and with next steps. However, it has been over a week and I have still had no direct contact with him, whatsoever. This lack of communication is unacceptable, frustrating, and very disappointing. In a field of medicine where an additional level of compassionate care is required, this doctor has fallen very short of any and all expectations. I would not recommend his care to anyone.
Really surprised by the negative reviews here so decided to drop in and give my own. Belonging to the healthcare profession myself, we tend to pick up on the workings of a clinic or hospital almost on a subconscious level. For me, Dr Hannam’s team was phenomenal. From the front desk staff to the nurses to the sonographers and we phlebotomists, everyone was professional. Dr Hannam himself was quite knowledgeable and very upfront about what his best recommendation would be in our case but he did throughly discuss any other options we wanted to explore. For something that was supposed to be a very anxious process, I was very pleased with the fact that we went with him because his entire team took great care of us. I would recommend this clinic and physician in a heartbeat.
Don't waste your time. Us folk struggling with fertility are literally working against the clock and this clinic thinks it's ok to have you wait 6 months to request your medical files from your previous doctors. It takes 3 months to get a prescription filled. I've been a patient since March and still do not have a price list (despite this being promised to me probably 18 times). Not that price is a factor - I've literally told them to do ANYTHING and take whatever cost - just get me pregnant. I just want to move forward and proceed. I've filed numerous complaints with the clinic and at this point, the care just seems negligent. If you want a competent team that knows what they are doing without you needing to advocate for yourself 20x harder than any patient should - do not chose Dr Hannam or anyone on his team. I know the lab is the best. But you'd have better luck and faster service to just go elsewhere.
Excellent, compassionate and professional doctor. I don't agree with the negative reviews as I was never treated like a number or a dollar sign, not once. I was with this clinic for over two years and I was treated with dignity and respect. My case was complex and Dr. Hannam worked tirelessly to find a solution to give me the best odds. He also was realistic and never took the toxic positivity approach or made promises since infertility treatment is a crapshoot, you just never know. Dr Hannam explained all options to us and never pushed ones just because of cost. He sincerely cared about our outcome and because of the efforts of him and his team, we now have a healthy baby boy. I can't recommend him enough.
Dr. Hannam may be competent but he did not seem to respect my body (pushing for more medications than needed, not believing my symptoms and side effects - ivf is stressful and it can be scary... you need a dr that respects your concerns!), and as others have said, entirely profit driven. Staff and nurses are great but this guy does not deserve the overall higher score. Put your money somewhere that you are respected, your experience will be much easier.
Great experience here!
Very knowledgeable and professional. Kind and caring, and we thank you for your expertise in this field. IVF is definitely an emotional roller coaster but your clinic made it easy to go through.
Can not recommend Dr Hannam enough, Incredibly caring, understanding, knowledgable and honest.
Horrific experience. Forced us to do PGS, I ended up with OHSS due to negligence and lack of close monitoring. Was the most expensive clinic and after destroying us with one traumatizing experience, we were dismissed. He took no responsibility, just blamed my age. He also gave us a letter strictly implementing very limited communication. How can an a reproductive endocrinologist do that to people that are going through the toughest and most sensitive process of their lives. The financial representative comes out with a debit machine that has bling all over it. Completely unprofessional and tasteless, especially in a clinic where people are paying with every penny for chance to conceive and have a child/family. She was very unpleasant and not someone who should be working in a fertility clinic. The clinic is beautiful, but the service and treatment from this doctor was the opposite. Also Dr. Garabedian that works with him is another disaster. She’s 100 miles per hour and it felt like she made my left ovary explode during my hysteroscopy. She would rush into the office and rush out.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
