My husband went into the VA, had a big kidney stone, told them pain was severe with a burning stomach, pain 1-10 12. Doctor said he would order pain medication. Did NOT order it so it was not in the bag. Did he think he was a drug seeker or something !? Before you leave make sure you check your medicine
Clinics don’t answer their phones.
The VA employees have no idea how to do their job! Can't get anyone to answer the phones, or provide professional assistance! Our GOVERNMENT has failed our VETS!
See the photo I attached to understand why I gave this facility 1 Star. Almost 90 minutes left on hold and after a week, I still do not have an appointment date.UPDATE: So it’s been over 2 weeks and I still don’t have an appointment. I’ve been called by the Community Care department saying I’m next in cue but that was 4 days ago. It’s been 2 weeks and 4 days and I still don’t have a simple CT Scan scheduled.
I can't even get to person to make an appt to get. VA ID card so that I can get care post retirement.
It seems they are either severely understaffed or severely disorganized. I cannot get my community care appointment scheduled, despite being told the doctor submitted the referral because no one will call me and when I call to inquire, I either get put on hold for literal hours or get told to wait another week for a call. It’s unfortunate because the appointment I need is extremely important.
If I was just rating it on the Mental Health care I receive, I would give it 4, my doctor is great, the clerical staff are so so.Most of my issues are with everything else. They just gave me my fourth primary care provider in the last 5 months. My doctor quit (the first in the 10 years I've been going here that I actually liked), then that gave me a temporary one that was about to retire, then a brand new NP that quit after a month, now on to number 4 (who is also a temporary solution I'm told so number 5 to follow later).I then called the Community Care office to inquire about outside care under the Mission Act (since I meet both the distance and time requirements and this is supposedly the only requirements) and clerk #1 got huffy and hung up on me, clerk #2 didn't have a clue. Silly me for thinking that after 3 years the Mission Act might actually be somewhat implemented here. Can't get Community Care referrals for other things for 18 months so far because the whole office has been pulled for Covid (for some reason their entire staff that processes these requests are RN's??? That's what they tell me). So the doctor's/NP's keep putting in the referrals --- and they keep writing back that there is no one to process them.Filled out a form for a handicap placard renewal in June, still don't have it back here in October. It was lost by ROI, then filled out incorrectly, then they couldn't stick it in the mail several times.... I luckily have outside insurance, so I paid to see a doctor on the outside (who I'd never seen before) and it was completed within 5 minutes. Best $30 I've spent this year. Why can't the VA just make things simple? My experience with Primary Care has been frightening the last 6 months. I'm glad some are having better experiences - I'm not in that group. There seems to not be a lot of logic behind their decision-making at times and they can't keep staff. Many of the clerical staff clearly don't want to be there. I have had some wonderful clinicians though - if you can get to them.I will not drop my outside insurance at this point, its far too risky if I have a serious health problem. I'd rather pay a few thousand a year and be alive. Honestly I'm kind of hoping for privatization - the Mission Act did nothing.
Well organized arrival area with multiple check in stations. Must have appointment for entry. No valet parking anymore, but they do a good job providing pickup and drop-off. I use a walker and when they noticed me coming someone came out with a transport wheel chair and brought me to intake.
Blue team rocks. Very well taken care of. The dermatologist was quick and diagnosed my condition and referred me to have it resolved. She was the best I have had in over 30 years of skin issues. Only criticism not if the care but it would be very cool if they had some signage and painted the building numbers on the buildings.
Dr. Mushkin is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and should not be allowed to work on anyone especially not elderly patients. My father went here and saw him for his bad feet from serving our country. My father is a disabled, elderly patient of this hospital. He was very rude, and rough with my father. He did not even complete treatment because my father complained about how badly he was hurting him.DO NOT GO TO HIM.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
