Updated Review 2026: I don't say this lightly - I would avoid this place at all costs. This was our first experience at a fertility clinic, so we were new to the game. When my husband had this blood drawn, they had to try EIGHT times. The girls all seemed in their early 20's with zero experience. After he threatened to walk out, they finally got it. He also had to submit a semen sample. As this was our first time exploring IVF, nobody told us that he could have brought the sample from home and delivered to the office, making it an awkward experience for him but also one of frustration, as that didn't need to happen at the clinic. Why was this option never communicated to us? When I arrived at one appointment (it was for fertility testing), the girl at the front desk told me I needed an empty bladder prior to my procedure. I went to the bathroom, came back to the lobby, and she apologized and said, "Actually, you do need a full bladder" and handed me a bottle of water. Little things like this add up. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing. They need to hire quality people (people who actually want to do this job and who have empathy) and not just girls who want a paycheck and don't seem to care about you, what you are going through and what you have been through. Most of the staff at the Ft. Worth location seemed uninterested, disengaged, impolite, and lacked compassion & empathy. The first time I went in, they asked if I wanted genetic testing done. I wasn't sure. The cost was presented as an "estimate" but it wasn't a confirmed number and I'm not sure it was needed, so I denied it until I spoke to insurance. On my second visit back, I told the woman working I would like to do the testing as I had confirmed with my insurance. Her response to me was, "It would have been easier if you had just listened to me the first time, right?" She was completely rude and unprofessional. She seemed to enjoy making people feel terrible. When I went in for another procedure, the "medical assistant" asked me if I had taken the meds the night before. "What meds, I asked her?" She said it was in my online portal. A phone call would have been nice, to let me know, as I had multiple procedures back-to-back. She was rude and cold and tried to make me feel stupid in an already sensitive and uncomfortable situation. With all these mix-ups and constant confusion, how could I trust them to make embryos and make sure everything was correct? If you can't get simple stuff done, what about the big things? I went to another clinic, and it was night and day. They were kind, respectful, competent, and overall had a very positive demeanor. When I saw the Doctor, the first thing she said, was "I'm sorry for your multiple losses" Dr. Thomas never even acknowledged my losses. It made all the difference to have the acknowledgement that somebody truly cared and had reviewed my file. I will never recommend this place to anyone. I didn't have the best feeling going in, based off previous reviews, but it was covered by my insurance. That mistake sent me back six months. It did lead me to a clinic that was kind and truly cared for me. Sometimes you don't know how good you have it until you have experienced the worst. CARE was the worst. 2025: I really wanted to see Dr. Thomas. I called three times to make an appointment and NOBODY called me back. When I called the third time to book an appointment, I explained my situation, that nobody was calling me back for an appointment and they could have cared less, they just sent me to a scheduling voicemail. Why would I want to give them my money and trust them with the process of trying to get pregnant when they can't do the bare minimum?
Everyone was great. Dr. Thomas did an exceptional job of explaining the steps the would be taken and the risks associated for someone my age. She was patient as I considered my options and showed care with each procedure. The staff was very skilled and caring with the pain I experienced during some of the initial procedures. My time at CARE was a success. Thank you!
Trigger Warning: Miscarriage I am writing this with a heavy heart, because no one should have to feel as helpless and abandoned as I did during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. I sought IVF treatment through CARE Fertility and, at first, everything seemed to go well. I had a successful embryo transfer and remained under their care until 9 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy. During that time, I experienced no complications. Then I was told I had “graduated” from their program and was instructed to follow up with an OB doctor. I scheduled an OB appointment, but like many offices, the earliest available visit was three weeks out. I trusted that this gap would be okay, especially since I had been stable up to that point. But eight days before my OB appointment, everything changed. I suddenly began experiencing severe vaginal bleeding and cramping. Terrified, I went to the ER, where I was evaluated and discharged with instructions to follow up with an OB within two days. I immediately tried to get an earlier appointment, but the OB office could not accommodate me. Feeling scared and desperate, I reached out to Dr. Thomas at CARE Fertility—my IVF doctor—explaining everything in detail. I made it very clear that I already had an OB appointment scheduled, but it was still over a week away, and now I was having complications. I simply asked if they could evaluate me in the meantime. The response I received was devastating. I was told they could not see me because I had “graduated” from their program. I again explained my situation—that I had nowhere else to go right now and was actively experiencing complications—but the answer remained the same: no. I cannot fully describe the feeling of being turned away like that. After everything—after trusting them with something so deeply important—I was left completely on my own when I needed care the most. With no other options, I returned to the ER two days later as my symptoms worsened. Again, I was told to follow up with an OB. I explained that my appointment was still days away and that my fertility doctor refused to see me despite knowing what I was going through. It didn’t change anything. One day before I was finally supposed to see the OB, I miscarried. When it happened, I called CARE Fertility to inform them. Even then, I was met with the same response: I needed to see my OB because I had already “graduated” from their program. With nowhere else to turn, I ended up back in the ER for the third time in one week, where the miscarriage was confirmed. This experience broke me. The lack of compassion, the rigid refusal to help, and the feeling that I was no longer their responsibility once I “graduated” left me feeling abandoned and deeply hurt. I am sharing this as a warning to others. If you choose to seek IVF care through this practice, please make sure you have an OB appointment scheduled immediately—ideally for the very next day after you are discharged from their program. Because if something goes wrong before that appointment, you may find yourself, like I did, with no one willing to help you. No patient should ever feel this alone.
I was scheduled with Dr. Katie Doody. I was having a procedure within the first week of the new year and I was changing insurances. I called multiple times to try to see if they would accept my insurance (it was an out of state policy) and to get a price estimate for the testing procedures. I was transferred here and there and no one seemed to know what anyone else was doing. It was a mess. After that, my testing came back and I did an appointment for next steps in my treatment plan. When I brought up concerns, they were dismissed as though they didn’t matter. I asked questions about why we couldn’t use a medication that we knew worked for me in the past and I was told “it’s off label so I don’t like it”. No real reason. It made me feel like there was a specific playbook that they use and they refuse to deviate even if it’s what’s best for the patient. I also needed a genetic screening. I called the company they use and they didn’t accept my insurance but another company did. I asked for an order to go to the company that used my insurance and I was told they have a contract with their company and cannot send an order anywhere else. It definitely seemed like the patient’s best interest was not in mind. Since then, I have gone to a different clinic that has well exceeded this experience. They are willing to do what works for me as the individual and aren’t trying to push me to the more expensive options right away. Also, the treatment plan (IUI) that CARE had wanted me to proceed with was double the price than what my new clinic charges. Overall, I did not feel like my care was adequate or individualized in any way.
I’d give Dr.Thomas 5 starts for her care but overall this place lost my trust. I’m not confident in them at all. It took weeks to get an initial appointment. When I went in for the first time I waited over an hour to see the doctor. The whole time ladies behind the front desk were talking about patients. I got placed in a meeting room before my procedure. Fast forward to trying to get info for my second frozen embryo transfer….first at this clinic. I can not get ahold of the billing department. I have left multiple voicemails. Every time I call the front desk transfers me. I was able to talk to an admin for the embryo lab. She was super nice. She reassured me she would take care of things and find someone from billing for me to talk to. I guess the lady was out to lunch. No suprise I didn’t get a call back. It’s been 6 weeks since I first asked. As someone who has done IVF before they have lost my confidence. Dr Thomas is amazing but her staff is the reason why I will not be doing a second round of IVF here. So thankful for my miracle baby. I will not risk loosing my other embryos with their lack of care. Edit to add: My settings are correct. I only have problems with this office. I have also tried to call the office manager after she reached out about this review. Left a voicemail on 1/17 no reply. Go figure. It feels as if they only see you as a money maker
Our experience has been absolutely amazing and truly life changing! Dr Thomas and her team are kind, proactive, supportive, knowledgeable and exactly the team that you want as you navigate a chapter in life that can be emotionally, physically and mentally challenging. We consistently felt we were cared for, informed along the way and always knew we were in the best hands. We fully trust Dr Thomas and her team and appreciate them in ways that we cannot express!
Wonderful experience doing my IUI with donor sperm. Dr. Thomas was amazing, as was the entire team. Got to work with Dr. Katie Doody, as well as the NP (who did the actual procedure) and all were extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. Expecting a beautiful baby this summer - pregnant on my first round. As a single mother by choice, this place was great and filled with no judgment. Highly recommend.
Changed
I am always very pleased with this office and Dr.Thomas. She has great bedside manner and is always so kind and listens.
UPDATE: was able to have Nicole call me back and let me say how much of a BRAT this woman was. She did not answer any of my questions and said she would email me my results. Never did she offer to have someone from the clinic go over them with me. These people are the absolute worst and I regret ever stepping foot inside this clinic. I learned more about my hormones and cycle using Inito than I did with this clinic. Run away and don’t find someone else!!! This is the second fertility clinic I had been to. My first one was great but felt something was missing so off of a recommendation we decide to get a second opinion here. The initial call from the TC was good per my husband, I never talked to anyone. They scheduled us so fast and then the “assignments” started to come in. Both of us had to watch videos and take quizzes about fertility care. This was extremely off putting as we had already been though three rounds before. Then the pushy text messages came about making a payment days prior to your visit. When I called the office they said they sent me to billing who does not answer the phone. I wanted to know what I was paying for and it took three phone calls to get an answer. Within 24 hours we had three copays to make. The call with the Dr was run of the mill and they pray on your vulnerability. The next day we went in for testing and scans. I was told that they would be testing my hormones, thyroid and everything, all they did was a standard blood test that your GP would run. Then they pushed for a hysteroscopy as I had polyps in the past. Within the day they were asking for another $1800. My blood results came in a week ago and NO ONE HAS CALLED ME. I also keep getting assignments to do. This place is a total money grab, over priced and disorganized. We will be sticking with the guy down the street for any further treatments. Run away from this place.
