WORST doctor I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this clinic and this doctor. They absolutely do NOT care about their patients. I know -- I used to be one. They prescribed medical testing equipment to me, sent me on my way, then completely abandoned me as a patient.I had questions about the prescription, so I called the office. There is no direct contact with any nurse or doctor -- all you can do is leave a message. That's fine. I left one. No call back. So I left another a few days later. No call back. So I left another a week later. No response. So I call back to ask what is going on. This time I make sure I get a human. As with any business, you know the sales or new-business side of the business will always answer the phone. So I call the appointments line and explain my issue. I explain that nobody has called me back and it feels a bit like I've been abandoned. And I ask if I could speak with an office manager. The woman sends me to a voice mailbox. I leave a message and nobody gets back to me. I call the appointment line again to explain what has happened. The woman tells me she will personally leave a note on the desk of the woman I need to speak with (who is gone for the day), but that she will also personally check back in with her the next morning to be sure she sees the message. She assures me she will definitely do this.No. Call. Back.Let me remind you, this is a heart doctor. So this is a potentially life-threatening heart condition we are supposed to be looking into.I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor's office in all my years. What a terrible place.**Edit**I have read other reviews and, come to find out, this is not an unusual experience. And those other patients had run-ins with the doctor himself, when they voiced their complaints about getting ignored. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, because I would never put my life in the hands of a person who got irate with me for sharing an honest account of my experience. Red flags all over the place about this guy. I am now questioning the judgment of my primary care doctor for sending me to a guy like this. I will be contacting my insurance company about him.To other reviewers who say the doctor himself is great while the office staff is the issue, let me remind you the doctor runs his staff. The doctor -- and what he is or isn't willing to put up with from his staff -- sets the stage for how the staff behave. If nurses aren't calling you back, it's because the doctor is okay with that. Otherwise those nurses wouldn't still be working there.
This Physician is irresponsible. It is impossible to talk to anybody in his Office. Only LVM. They never returned calls. Patient is waiting for Dr.Berman prescription for more than 6 months, and it is a life threatening condition.
This Physician is irresponsible, or he has the worst office Service team. It is impossible to talk to anybody in his Office. Only LVM. They never returned my calls. Patient is waiting for Dr.Berman prescription for more than 6 months, and it is a life threatening condition. Our PCP, insurance company and CVS pharmacy tried to reach him many times, but no results. When did this physician lost all compassion for his patients?

Dr. Philip Berman is without question the most knowledgeable, experienced and accurate Cardiologist I have ever known!!. Without a shadow of a doubt He is surrounded with the most efficient Team of People. NO WONDER HE IS ALWAYS BUSY. Let me emphasize. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE MAKES A HUGE IMPACT IN PEOPLE`S LIVES!
Excellent doctor, thorough and easy to speak with. Nice office, staff was very polite and helpful.
Dr. Phillip L. Berman is a brilliant cardiologist and really cares about his patients. He is always tying to figure out what causes a patient''s AFIB. He looks at his patients' holistically rather than just from their symptoms. I am fortunate that I am under his care.
I moved to Houston a few yrs ago and had not found a cardiologist. A friend recommended Dr Berman. The front desk staff was great from the moment I walked in. I was a little apprehensive when I met the nurse because she was very quiet but was great when she did EKG. Dr Berman was amazing. The staff who did stress test and echocardiogram were amazing as well. Everything was explained clearly and I left feeling grateful. Thank you Dr Berman and staff.
Most dedicated, understanding , devoted heart surgeon in Houston.
I do not recommend Dr. Berman
Dr. Berman is always in a hurry, diagnosed me incorrectly, prescribed the wrong med and never followed up with me. The staff never seems to have time to call patients back. Overall I will never return to his office
I saw Dr Berman from a referral, I was so pleased with everything I saw and heard from him and his staff. To me Dr Berman is very personal and a very caring person, he take the time to listen. I would highly recommend his to anyone and everyone, you will love him.
Dr. Berman is incredible! Not sure what the negative reviewer is speaking about, but the whole office is cordial, friendly and Dr. Berman is the best Cardiologist in town!
Horrible experience with staff and nurse of Dr. Berman. My son and I left the message couple of times to follow my son’s blood work result. Nobody even called us back. No answering phone call. Always on hold. I wish Dr. knows how they treat their patients.
Long and short of it is Dr. Berman is just a fantastic person and doctor. He's friendly, caring, knowledgeable, but most importantly he listens to you. You can talk to him. His staff is very friendly, but I will admit that it can be difficult to get callbacks when you leave voicemails. Be persistent and you'll get what you need eventually, and this isn't uncommon from a lot of doctors offices, it's a pain but is what it is.However, when you really need a good doctor that genuinely cares and wants what is best for you while also being attentive and listening to how you feel, Berman is the guy.
I am very impressed with Dr. Berman. However, I agree about the office staff not caring. The nurses are very nice. While my phone call, wasn’t critical, it was never answered, which I consider common courtesy with any profession. If this is their policy, I am tempted to go to another cardiologist. I would hope these reviews make it back to Dr. Berman so he will make some changes in his office policies.
The worst staff ever. I left a voicemail for the nurse two days before my appointment to confirm my testing. The next day I spoke with the front office to confirm and told them I had no problem rescheduling for the following week but to please let me know as I did not have time to come twice. Martha said no problem. The next day I show up for my appointment, fill out the copious amount of paperwork then wait. Only when I was called up to the window the told me my test was not scheduled. I don't know what more I could have done, but clearly this office is uncaring about their customer's time. Find another physician to go to! Don't waste your time.
Great doctor. I enjoyed my visit to his office all the people working there were so nice and helpful.
I wish Dr Berman knew that the first contact with this clinic is the front desk. No smiles, abrupt, in person the same. A total turn off to see the doctor. Again, when you call you feel you are bothering them.
Get your medications before you leave his office because His staff will not return your calls so it doesn’t do any good to leave a message
