Phoenix Rebellion Therapy's Online Review Report Card

My daughter came here and they NEVER asked for her insurance card and sent the claims to the WRONG insurance. They called ONE time "as a courtesy" to get the correct information and didn't send her a bill or anything because of a DATA BREACH??????? HOW is that my daughters fault???? Then when my daughter finds out they have the wrong insurance information, she gives them the correct insurance information (which if they took a copy of the insurance card they would have had the correct claims address) they send to the correct insurance and it gets denied for TIMELY FILING and they charge my daughter the FULL amounts of the claims. They literally didn't try to contact my daughter to get the correct insurance information and they never sent my daughter a bill until it was too late. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT ADDED STRESS AND DEPRESSION!!!! THOUGHT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO HELP WITH THAT???

I was able to get through and talk to someone in billing. The lady I talked to was very helpful. She researched my account and found the discrepancy. she told me they are trying to improved their billing site to show what was billed for what dates so there isn't any question. There was an error in their billing so system trying to bill me for a date I had canceled on. She apologized for the error and we resolved the issue. I really liked the counselors and therapy they had but I stopped using their counseling because of the confusion in their billing system.

The biggest crappiest business ever. They don't know how to run a business they are so mixed up in their paper work and billing. I dumped them over two years ago because they kept double charging me for visits and when I went to talk to them about it they gave me all sorts of stupid explanations why they bill the way they do. I never could get a hold of any billing people to talk to on the phone. they say they will call you back which took awhile for that. So eventually I went in to talk to management and they were worthless to get any help from with their ridiculous excuses and explanations on billing me more visits than I had. I fought them for a few months to get them to refund me those times they double charged me. I still felt like they owed me money but finally we came to an agreement. I was not satisfied. I wrote a bad review on them and now two years later they are sending me emails and texts saying I owe them money again. What dishonest, corrupt and poorly run business. They can't be trusted, they only care about extra money they can get from their clients. Stay far away from this business, they are good at scamming people. My therapist who I liked even left them for another place to work, she knew of the lack of integrity this place has. They will give you more headaches and hassle and try to steal whatever money they can from you. Go to another place that actually cares about their clients instead of stealing from them.

Like any service, finding the right therapist is everything. I would say that for all of the 1's, they should remember that the entire group isn't bad because of one experience. Having said that, I've been working with Josie for almost a year and find our time to be so valuable. I appreciate her work in helping me do MY work. I knew going in that I needed to work through the trauma and it would not be fun at times. She really guided and challenged me so that I could work through it all. I really can't say enough about her approach. As for billing, I've never had a single issue. I think this might be something you, as the patient, want to discuss before you start therapy so that it goes smoothly.

I was contacted by Phoenix Rebellion in reference to a VA referral. I went through the process of acquiring the appropriate VA authorization number and filled out the 10 forms that Phoenix Rebellion requires, which can be time consuming. Two hours prior to my appointment I was contacted by the office stating my appointment had been canceled by the provider, Laura McCauley. I was asked to reschedule later in the day or the following week. The reason I was given was that they had not received the VA authorization because the office manager was out of the office, and the provider wanted to fill her schedule. Due to the poor initial impression from this facility I contacted VA Community Care and requested they rescind the authorization to be seen at this facility.

All they want to do is take your money. Even after services. Better off going somewhere else.

While I really REALLY enjoyed my therapist Jessica, I cannot justify supporting a practice that is a “proud supporter” of the Fraternal Order of Police. The FOP supports terrorist organizations like the police and Trump (condemning an insurrection is in fact not enough) and I will not give any practice that supports racism, sexism, ableism, and fascism over their own community. Side note: displaying thin blue line art next to stronger together (Black Lives Matter) art is a wild choice because they are inherently opposed

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel an ethical obligation to warn others about my experience with this practice. I raised serious ethical concerns regarding how therapy was handled in my case, and instead of addressing them, the office cut off communication entirely. Rather than engage professionally, they: - Blocked my number from even speaking to a receptionist. - Refused to provide any follow-up after acknowledging the issue. - Shut down all dialogue instead of acting with integrity. If you are considering therapy here, be aware that this is how they handle complaints and accountability. Instead of transparency and professionalism, they prioritize avoidance and damage control. Because of their refusal to take responsibility, I will be formally escalating this case with: • The Utah Department of Professional Licensing (DOPL) • The American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) Ethics Committee • The Utah Board of Examiners for Clinical Mental Health Counselors • The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Ethics Committee • The Utah Division of Consumer Protection • The Better Business Bureau (BBB) – Utah Chapter This is not about a bad experience; it’s about professional negligence and ethical misconduct in mental health treatment. If you or someone you know has been impacted by similar issues at this practice, I encourage you to document your experience and report it as well.

You should really ask the therapists there how many clients they are pushed to see a week. If it is more than 25 clients a week something is wrong. The company talks the lingo and has great marketing strategies. Although therapists doing true trauma work shouldn't be pushed to the brink. Again they know the lingo but are training their therapists with proprietary Youtube videos and power points. The narcissism in this place reeks they don't seek outside training.

The therapist I worked with was amazing and really helped me. Unfortunately for her she works for a terrible company. Their billing department is full of liars and fools. It does not matter how good the therapists are if the company they work for causes crisis after crisis for their patients. Update, after further contact and lies, I called them on it. It did not go great. It went well enough that I no longer have a collections bill on my credit report but there is no remorse, apology, or promise of change. It still doesn't matter how great and amazing their therapists are.
