List of Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center's Reviews
Since my cataract surgery, my vision has been terrible.I have told them about it and they told me that's just the way it is.I would recommend nobody go here. I had cataract surgery in my other eye with out issue so I know the difference this place is a money grab. Find another place.
After my experience at BDPEC, I would NOT recommend them to anyone I care about. 1. Appointment Miscommunication: I was not informed (in writing or through multiple reminder messages) not to wear my contacts for 48 hours prior to my appointment. Upon arrival, I was told we had to reschedule since they had only been out 15 hours. 2. Pre-Operative Consultation: The doctor who performed the surgery rushed through the pre-op meeting. As this was my first eye surgery, I was nervous and had questions, but he seemed eager to leave the room. I expressed a preference for a lens for distance vision, but he insisted on a different approach. During the finance meeting, when I had questions, his response relayed through the staff was, "I already went over that with her," which is unacceptable. 3. Post-Operative Issues: Immediately after my surgery, the front desk called the wrong number for my fiancé three times, leaving me in a very full waiting area for an hour. The surgical office staff incorrectly scheduled my post-op prescription appointment as a full eye exam resulting in my eyes being dilated, which is unsuitable for a prescription appointment. This led to another wasted appointment. Seven months post-op, my vision has not improved. It took three months of bi-weekly visits with the optometrist to find a prescription that somewhat helps, but I still have constant headaches and resort to squinting to see. It is also difficult for me to work since I cannot see up close, or distance. 4. Billing and Collections: I was billed for my "pre-operatory" visit to obtain consents and answer questions as well as the "history and physical visit," which I understood both to be included in the overall treatment plan. I paid my portion of the surgery in full on the morning of the procedure. However, I soon began receiving invoices for unpaid services. Despite confirming with the billing office that I should not pay these invoices, they reported me to a collections office, which has been calling me nonstop. I am looking into the “no surprises act”. After calling billing to inquire about these invoices/collections, I was told “I was incorrect” and had to pay despite having paid in full and being told not to pay because “insurance sometimes takes a long time to pay us”. I asked the billing office to send the itemized surgical notes, etc. to me since there is not one piece of information in my online patient portal, and they sent it to an email that is not mine. I will never recommend this office to anyone. My experience has been horrible, and my vision has not improved. Terrible.
Very sad. The office does not answer the phone and for some reason is unable to return calls to patients. very sad. 5 different appointments in three different locations in Mesa before cataract surgery?? certainly a method of running up the bill!!! Before the surgery beware of the scheduler upselling the lens to insert!! again to make more money! The offices are a real s___ show. 5 appointments at different times and days in three different locations?? Really?? Finally get to see the surgeon but we waited 1/2 hour after appointment scheduled time, only to be led to waiting room, another 20 minute wait to see the doc. He says everything looks good explains no reason for expensive lens ($4k) . Then back to original waiting room to wait for scheduler along with the 6 other people who were with in each of waiting room with us. After another half hour back in original waiting room, we left. 20 minutes home then 33 minutes later scheduler calls to upsell (denies attempting to do so claiming doc has it in notes). Scheduler says i need to sign paper work for authorization. After 5 visits I will not waste another half day with this. Scheduler promised to email paperwork as it needed to be signed within a week he said. 2 weeks later no email, no paperwork, and scheduler is never available. if you call them please go to the bathroom first it will be a long wait. Still awaiting call back from someone, anyone. Very strange that the office had 6 or 7 staff members (being paid well, I hope) milling around, talking to each other while the 6 groups that await the scheduler are waiting in the original waiting room. Doordash delivered food twice while we were waiting before we left. Come on scheduling (upselling) can be accomplished quickly. This experience is unbelievable and unforgivable. At this point due to lack of communication, I do not know if I am having the surgery or not?? no instructions, no nothing. Lost confidence in this business. A rating of 1 is a gift!! office is horrible
I do not recommemd this place at all. i dont know if the dr was having a bad day, but that in itself does not exclude being unprofessional. There is no excuse for the way we where treated very rude and not only that but raised her voice to top it off. And demanded my dad to have a surgery which he did not want. Dr la was extremely rude to my dad as to myslef. All because he ran out of his eye drops and said i can not help you or refused to help unless my dad does the surgery. Sounded more like milking the insurance to me. which his eyes have not worsened or has had any changes or pain. Over all bad customer service i will not bring my dad here ever again to get treated like a child. All this goes back where they had done lazer surgery they recommended and left scared tissue and now he has issues. supposedly Beware
Professionalism and competence with concern is the best way I can describe the staff and doctors at Barnet Dulaney Perkins. From the minute you enter the office until the time you exit you know you're being treated by medical professionals that are dedicated to service. Dr. Graff was thorough and addressed my issues and concerns while making me feel at ease. I recommend them with confidence.
PSA- if you have floaters, get your eyes checked! It's also very important to get in ASAP if you have a retinal tear! I've had unfortunate eye issues and Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center is amazing! They have saved my vision twice now. I highly recommend their team for eye care!
I do not normally write poor reviews and post them. However, I am making an exception to help ensure others can avoid an experience like mine. This place is stunningly disappointing. The waits times are excessive with no communication to explain them. Then, once you do see an actual doctor, there is little to zero patient engagement. It is clear that this is the norm and reasonable as a standard. It’s difficult to appreciate the actual services when trying to digest the cattle call nature of the experience. If you need eye procedures do insist on a different company.
I called and after waiting on hold 25 minutes they did not know who Whitney W is. Farce.
Everything went great at my visit. Dr. Anderson took care of me as usual, he said my eyes were doing well and he didn’t see any problems. He answered any questions that I had.! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good eye doctor.
Doctor Anderson was personable and professional. I am visually impaired with decades of treatment, and I recognize and appreciate he is thorough and compassionate.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
