We went today (August 21, 2025) to get Cardiology care. The doctor was short of tempers. For example, when he was talking, mumbling talking, I didn't hear him. I asked for excuse me? He got short. His lips became tense. His tone became elevated. His eyes were pin-point. I knew he was having a bad day. The doctor kept the visit short and sweet. However, not talkative at all. Normally, the doctor would be accommodating. But, not today. But, afterward, we went to a hospital deli. The only thing good was the fresh Salad. We had lunch. I go and see him once a year. Maybe next year it will be better. And the bathroom on first floor is atrocious! Check the pictures...shame on Baptist Hospital. Oh, by the way, your front Security Guards is nice...
I visited the Emergency Department of Baptist Homestead Hospital, 975 Baptist Way, Homestead, FL 33033, due to an elevated HR (over 140 bpm), SOB, fever (over 39) of unknown etiology, weakness and general malaise. I was admitted and hospitalized to do further studies and was sent to observation (5th floor). I was discharged on august 16 around 9:00 - 9:30 pm without knowing my diagnosis, no patient education or proper follow up plan or referring documentation. I didn't discuss my imaging or lab results with any Dr prior my discharge; my medical problems were not properly treated, and I have been sent home with a leukocytosis, infection of unknown etiology, anemia and low iron level without medication to treat my anemia and low iron levels, no plan for home treatment, no patient education or follow up plan. After a positive blood culture results for a bacteria were back, no-one contacted me from Baptist to let me know my results and discuss treatment or plan options, despite I called and sent a patient concerned letter to Baptist patient experience. Dr Jorge Mejias (infection diseases) never contacted me despite this bacteria is a reportable bacteria to the department of health due to the fact that is very uncommon bacteria in USA. I have called in 4 occasions to Dr Mejias office and the receptionist keep saying that Dr need to review my case and then he decide if he wanted to see me or not. I haven't been contacted (14 days latter) by any staff member from Baptist Hospital since my discard to even notify me about my lab results.

Horrible care, staff rude, waiting time is up to a whole day...then to wait for xrays is another couple of hours if you need to be admited its another day of waiting
I was there 2 times 2 days apart. The 1st time I laid in the hallway 10 hours on a cheap bed . It took about 5 hours to see a doctor. I was diagnosed with a spinal fracture and the er doctor said I needed surgery. I left because I didn't feel he was capable to make that decision. Two days later I was back. This time 12 hours in the hallway despite them knowing my condition, they told me to follow up with spinal neurological doctor Three days later I saw the surgeon and he determined no surgery needed. Very disappointed with the whole process. Changed to Health South and 1 day later was located in a rehab center on my way to recovery.
Saved my life. There's no better review than that.Grateful for all the staff that were involved in this. Thank you .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
