Derm Institute Of Chicago's Online Review Report Card

Very caring and professional!! While throughly examining my skin, Dr. Kim found something that looked suspicious. She asked me if she could take a sample for testing. A few days later I get a call saying I had basal cell cancer and needed Mohs surgery. Dr. Kim’s staff explained the process of Mohs surgery and answered all my questions. The day of the surgery, everyone made certain I was comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Kim and the Derm Institute of Chicago!!

I previously had a very positive experience at Derm Institute, which is why I chose to contact them again this year. Unfortunately, my recent experience this year was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I contacted the office immediately to report a documented medical emergency. The front desk staff confirmed that the information was relayed to Dr. Carqueville. Despite multiple follow-up calls and repeated requests to speak with her or leave a message, I never received a response. Each time I contacted the office, I was told that Dr. Carqueville was “busy,” and no effort was made to ensure follow-up or communication. The front desk receptionist appeared unprepared to address the situation and provided inconsistent explanations, which further contributed to the lack of professionalism. Appointments were repeatedly canceled for other patients, and explanations given did not reflect an appropriate level of concern for patient care. Given the seriousness of my medical situation and the fact that I have legal documentation supporting the emergency, the lack of response and accountability was deeply concerning. Based on this experience, I felt that my care was not taken seriously and that patient's needs were not prioritized. I gave this practice another opportunity based on past positive experiences, but the current level of communication and professionalism fell far below acceptable standards.

Dr. Carqueville and team are the best! I’ve been treated so well and felt so cared for through several visits and procedures. They are at the leading edge of treatments and are very patient in sharing information.

I made an apt for my husband and he showed up. They canceled his apt and I never was notified through text, call or email . He took off work and MARY The receptionist was rude , I may have given attitude due to the frustration of it being canceled and she did not accommodate him being seen at ALL! Very unprofessional on her end. I’m very upset bc if I had cancelled I would’ve been charged , but it’s okay for them to cancel as he drove all the way over there just to not be seen . Mary is very rude!

I had such a great experience with Dr. Kwan. He really took his time, listened, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and patient — I never felt rushed, and he answered all of my questions thoroughly. It’s rare to find a doctor who’s both so skilled and genuinely caring. I left feeling confident and very well taken care of. Highly recommend!

I’ve had nothing but a great experience since the first time walking through the doors with the Derm Institute. They made a very scary process for me feel very easy and since it’s been a breeze working with them. Can’t recommend them enough! #clearskin
