I am so thankful for how nice the surgeons and staff were for my mother’s surgery! They didn’t treat her differently when she asked silly questions out of fear of the outcome of her surgery. I also appreciate the little pamphlet I got when checking her in that told me where things like the cafeteria is, what to expect when the procedure is done etc. It’s incredibly helpful to have especially when we are not familiar with the hospital. I’m a hardcore Ohio State and Michigan State fan and I rag on Michigan ALOT, but U of M hospital will ALWAYS have my upmost respect!

Now I’m all 4 safety 4 every1….. BUTTT What in The General Hospital bs is going on here, I get a 911 call regarding a loved one being brought to this drama center ONLY TO BE INTERROGATED …. They make you take photos and forces you to give your driver’s license so they can record your info in their system…..in order to check on your loved ones ( WHICH IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS) 🙄🙄🙄…. (PRIVACY INVASION AT BEST 😡😡😡)

Called oncology 5 times never received a call back. 0 srars

This is exactly the type of place you wait months to get into to see a specialist, then that specialist redraws all the same labs you already had done, then figures out they probably don’t know what the issue is either, so not only do you get to wait months, you are dually dissapointed by the lack of specialized knowledge you thought you we’re coming to see.

Got to the hospital by the ambulance last night. Had great staff, the only thing I was extremely upset about is I drove 3.5 hours to be at the concert, passed out and hit my head. The staff told me they would get me back to my car, I was left at one am, with no way to get 3.3 miles back to my car. We ended up paying $55 for an Uber at almost 2am.

I had my aortic aneurysm surgery there I spent 5 Weeks there my daughter lived in the hospital with me they adopted her made sure she had all the snacks and food she needed. Everyone was great.

My experience with this hospital’s administrative and scheduling process has been extremely disappointing, despite the excellent care provided by the surgeon and nursing staff. My son’s surgery, originally scheduled for mid-January, was postponed until early June. While I understand that schedules can change, I had already arranged time off from work and had to reorganize everything. On the day of surgery, I requested a school excuse for my son. I was sent from the front desk to the nurse, then told only the surgeon could provide the documentation. I was given a phone number and instructed to call the following day to request the paperwork. When I called, I was told they could not email documents and that I would have to either receive them by fax or drive to the office. I drove approximately 40 minutes to pick up the paperwork, only to discover it did not include the surgeon’s instructions that my son remain out of school for 3½ weeks. The school rejected it because it lacked this essential information. I called again and politely requested that the correct documentation be faxed directly to the school. I was told it would be sent. A week later, the school informed me they had still not received anything. When I called again, I was told the paperwork had been prepared but, can’t confirm if it had actually been faxed. After another request, they finally sent it, but it was the exact same incomplete document that had already been rejected. Fortunately, the school decided to excuse the absence because it was the last day before summer break. Had they not done so, this administrative error could have created unnecessary problems for my son. I chose not to leave a review at that time because I wanted to move on. Unfortunately, the experience continued. My son’s postoperative follow-up was scheduled seven weeks after surgery, which already seemed later than expected. Then, just hours before the appointment, we received a call informing us it was being rescheduled for three months later. That means the follow-up will occur approximately five months after surgery. By that point, I had already taken a vacation day from work specifically for the appointment, which was wasted due to the last-minute cancellation. To be fair, every staff member I spoke with was courteous and professional, the nurses were excellent, and the surgeon provided outstanding care. My frustration is not with the medical team. It is with the repeated administrative failures, poor coordination, inconsistent communication, and lack of consideration for families’ time. When parents are already dealing with the stress of their child’s surgery, they should not have to repeatedly chase paperwork, make unnecessary trips, or lose vacation time because of preventable scheduling and communication issues. I sincerely hope the hospital reviews these processes and improves them for future families.

My experiences here have all been exceptionally good. A year ago, I was feeling very ill and close to dying with a very rare disease. I decided to go to U of M because I heard if you have something rare, this is where to go. The team ran all the right tests to diagnose me and treat my condition. I am better now. I’m so thankful and was impressed both with my doctors’ ability to look at objective facts and information, and also the compassionate way they treated me during a very difficult time. I am alive AND WELL today because of the care I received at U of M. Doctors at Corewell, Beaumont, and Henry Ford told me that nobody in their system would be able to diagnose or treat me for my neuroendocrine tumor. U of M was able to handle my care and make me healthy.

ALL the nurses, Doctors, Staff, treated me with kindness! That's why U of M in Michigan is so highly rated.. I had a successful leg surgery and everyone that cared for me was Amazing! I recomend to Anyone that is seeking Top Notch care!!!

Love this hospital, always get the best care, but recently on Friday night, june 26, i had an unpleasant and uncomfortable moment when I was leaving the ER. As my daughter was getting the car to leave, I waited for her at the entrance, a security guard was there close by. I couldnt help by notice he was just on his phone, that was not the issue, it’s what he was watching. He was watching s3xual content, i thought it was very odd doing it while on the job and not even hiding it as i was a a couple feet away from him.. . It definitely made me feel some way, but at least it was me who saw it and not a child or someone younger.. This hospital is too amazing to have staff like that
