Dr. Azurin’s assessment of my nerve damage was accurate and the wrist/carpal tunnel issue treatment has helped me.
Dr Azurin was thorough, understanding and continued gathering info as he chatted during the neurology exam. This worked well for my adult child as this child struggles with anxiety, and she is not very good at communication.
Azurin is the worst medical Dr I have ever experienced! He is rude, will only prescribe what he believes will work, and tells you that you are taking too much medication!! I don’t pleasure being stuck in my bedroom 24/7 with migraines! All medications have side effects! I should have some say in what works for my body... I wouldn’t suggest this dr to my worst enemy!!
Dr. Azurin has always been my last choice to see. But today he was extra condescending with me about my migraine situation. He told me that I was nervous about going back to work (which I am not) and thus was claiming to be worse off than I am. He stated that he himself works with migraines and thus I should be able to. This is disturbing to hear as he has to inject patients with botox AND says little about his own skill at helping patients with migraines. He also confused periodic migraines with daily persistant ones. He did not listen to me, put me down, and had little help to give. IMPORTANTLY he did not wear his mask properly (below his nose). Shocking that an MD this late in the pandemic would still not have proper PPE and know how to wear it. My guess is that he may listen more to male patients than to women. I love the PA at this practice but I will have to find another doctor.
Doctor does not listen to patients, condescending, and doesn't wear his mask over his nose.
I would give zero stars if I could. Doesn't wear his mask correctly. Condescending. I've never had a good visit with him - he is one of those doctors who doesn't listen to patients.
Had an appointment at 6pm and wasn’t seen by the nurse until 645pm (after complaining to the receptionist about the wait). Waited another 15 minutes in the doctors office and by 7pm I walked out due to other obligations. This doctor is incapable of seeing patients in a timely manner. Now I have to waste more time typing a complaint to the Board for Professional Medical Conduct.
I am in shock reading the reviews of Dr azurin. I have been seeing him for treatment and management of migraines for years. He is intelligent, thorough, and easy to converse with. He always has options, that are best for my specific conditions he listens carefully to any questions I have. I will not hesitate to refer someone to him.
Wow I am surprised at some of these reviews. I have found Dr. Azurin to be open to listening. He does not try to push anymore medications on you then are necessary. He takes whatever time is needed with you. I have never waited in the waiting room for more than 10-15 minutes...usually less.
I am privileged in having Dr. Azurin on my side as my Neurologist. When Dr. Dunn retired I was not certain what I was going to do or who I was going to see. I had been going to Dr. Dunn for three years prior and was very comfortable with him, his office and his professionalism. Dr. Dunn assured me that he would get Dr. Azurin up to date with my condition. Still a little leary I approved. Three months later I met Dr. Azurin for the first time. Not only was he up to date with my condition, he also had a new approach to helping me out as well. He ordered new test, while still continuing with what Dr. Dunn had set up for me. As far as his concern and compassion, he made me feel like a long lost friend and and new my chart better than I did myself. I am still seeing him every three months, and look forward to his visits. Thank you both Dr. Dunn and now Dr. Azurin the transition was FLAWLESS!!
Horrible and rude !!!!!!!!! Called with an emergency. Doc was like. Why did you call me ?!!! Seriously ?! Never again ! Can’t even give one star
I had the worst appointment of my life with this doctor. He was rushed, didn't listen at all, and was patronizing. He talked at me and was rude when I tried to ask any questions about my health or medications to the point that it felt like I was being barked at, and he did not provide me with any helpful information or discussion about my condition. The appointment was a waste of my time and I refuse to see him again.
I had one of the worst experiences of my life today, dealing with this doctor. If you want a doctor who's considerate, compassionate, and actually cares, he's not the one. He spent approximately 5 minutes being condescending. And rushing through the most generic Neurological exams I've ever experienced. He even said that he was going to check my records, and left, and never came back. Before that he asked me multiple times, *didn't I already have test done*, and *haven't I been seen by other doctors*. Repeatedly asked who sent me to him. And why was I there. But didn't listen to one word that I said. Asked me to walk on my tip toes across a room. I told him that I had to use my cane. He asked me to try anyways without it, even though my legs were extremely shaky, he didn't even try to support me. I almost feel on the EMG machine. All while he sat with a half smirk and didn't offer any help or assistance. This is when he left, said he'd be back, the nurse came to do my blood pressure and said that I could check out. I started crying from the frustration and the amount of pain I was in. I had spent all day not taking my pain meds so that I could get to this appointment without being tired. Every slow step and movement was met with pain shooting through my body, and me becoming more and more fatigued. All of this torture for the most unprofessional doctor I've ever experienced. There is definitely no "CARE" within Health Care.

Today was my first visit with Dr. Azurin, and I found him to be easy to talk with, and very knowledgeable about my lumbar spinal stenosis treatment. I was treated with respect and I am very comfortable with his judgment, and left this visit with complete trust. I highly recommend him.
Wow is all I can say. I went to him a little while ago and he obviously did not pay attention to my medical chart. Put me on a medication that made a current health issue much worse then at a follow up I just happened to mention this issue to which the reply was oh you have that? I would have never prescribed that medication if I had known.....uhm it was in my medical chart there doc........thanks....
Dr. Azurin is the type of neurologist whom I hope I never have the displeasure of encountering again. He was quick to use scare tactics to push Copaxone on me, and even after writhing in pain for hours after every thrice-weekly injection, golf-ball sized lumps that wouldn't go away for weeks, and the fact that my condition was worsening, he would resort to scare tactics every time I questioned the medication. Specifically, he told me that there were effectively two kinds of drugs; Copaxone, and ones that would cause birth defects. I am a 25 year old woman and vocally mindful of my reproductive health, thus, I believed him and continued the Copaxone. My health continued to decline until I finally started getting hives on my increasingly-painful injection sites, which confirmed my long suspicion that I might be allergic to the drug. The last day I saw him I vocalized this concern, as he, without explanation, was attaching electrical nodes to me and began shocking me, then told me, and I quote, "I know you're young, and you're not thinking about this now, but some day you'll want babies, so you really should not take those OTHER drugs." I had seen this man between 8 appointments, every single time vocal about my reproductive health, and he had the GALL to lecture me about my own mindfulness? I canceled all future appointments, stopped taking the drug, and my health steadily improved thereafter. I have multiple sclerosis, and I need medication, but there is a PLETHORA of medications out there, not just Copaxone and "the scary kind". I will never, EVER, see James Azurin again. In my opinion, he does not deserve to be a doctor, and I'm certain his insistence to push Copaxone is entirely self serving. Do not make appointments with this man if you can help it. I highly recommend getting a proper neurologist instead.
Horrible bed side manner
Horrible Doctor. Wont listen to anything you say.. Made me believe I had M.S. after the test came back negative he washed his has of me. Sent me for blood work he never explained along with other test he refused to give me any response about till I came back to the office 3 weeks later. My mom went with me and when she asked a question he dismissed her and told her what she was asking was not true (she asked if migraines were possible) When I asked why I was having headaches then he told me I wasn't having the symptoms I was having. Then told me he can't tell me what i have only what I don't. And then ended the appointment.. Had 2 appointments with him.. Each time waited 20 minutes to get into the room and another 5-10 in the room... Then saw him for maybe 10 minutes each time... Such a waste of time!!!
