To start with a positive, I do believe Dr. Mendez knows what he's talking about and would trust his diagnosis. However, in my four or five years of going to this office, my consistent experience has been one of feeling very dismissed by the front desk staff and even Dr. Mendez himself at times. I have generally overlooked this. However, recently, even though I asked specific questions to the front desk staff in order to know which steps to take next, I was given wrong information, missed work and my appointment because of this and caused the phlebotomist to be late w/ her patients after me. I called Dr. Mendez's office multiple times during office hours after this and no one answered. I left 3 messages and no one called me back. I was in the middle of getting tested and was on my 3rd test as ordered by the doctor, however could not move forward w/ that testing until I had correct information. I reached out to the office staff and asked them to call me back multiple times and still have not heard from them 2-3 months later. I asked for them to call me back or connect me directly to the doctor since I was given wrong information the first time around. It has been 2-3 months and I still have yet to hear from them. The office staff is very dismissive and very unprofessional and at this point I would say unethical. I used to manage the front desk of a doctor's office that had 7 different doctors. We opened our doors when we said we would open and we answered calls and/or returned calls and we never dismissed our patients. Given my background and experience in going to this office for the past 4-5 years, I cannot say that I would recommend this office to my friends or family. At this point, I still am not able to finish the testing the doctor prescribed because the front desk staff will not contact me nor have they let the doctor know that I have been calling and asking for help.
