This facility and its staff are *exceptional* and changed (and saved) my life. I rarely leave Google reviews, but I feel it is important to share my experience with Pasadena Villa and to encourage anyone who feels in need of help to contact them.I spent many weeks in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) working in both group sessions and individual sessions with the Psychotherapists, Therapists, and the Psychiatrist at Pasadena Villa. Each Psychotherapist and Therapist brought a different and unique approach and focus to each group and session. This allows everyone in each group to approach a number of different issues and concepts (for example trauma, anxiety, depression, or grief) in a number of different ways (for example learning about healing, coping, growth, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy) and was tremendously helpful. It was never repetitive, and the variety and depth of the topics and personal approaches helped create meaningful and sustainable progress and change.I came to Pasadena Villa in a very dark place and without hope - I was in crisis and did not know what to do or where to turn. Over the weeks I worked with the staff, while it was difficult and emotional work, the program absolutely was an unqualified success for me, and by the time I left I had gained knowledge, skills, tools, a different perspective, and (most importantly) *hope*.With regard to the individual Psychotherapists and Therapists, I also want to note that I am over 50 and have worked with numerous therapists and doctors over the past several decades, but the staff at Pasadena Villa are without exaggeration the best I have ever encountered. Across the board they work extremely hard to connect with each group and each person and help them make progress and gain skills and knowledge. They are also all highly skilled and experienced. Of particularly note for me were Jessica (who provided kind and remarkably observant and insightful guidance and support on a number of issues regarding trauma and coping), Jenna (who provided keen and observant analysis, understanding, and guidance on relationships, trauma, family issues, and shame), Deanna (whose unique approach to exercises in building skills and strength led to an "a ha!" moment in almost every session), Philip (whose gentle and open approach to a number of different types of counseling created a welcoming and effective atmosphere for learning and growth), and Kaitlin (whose joy, enthusiasm, and incredibly generous work with music therapy created a surprising and uplifting space for discussion, sharing, and expression).I was very nervous about entering the PHP and IOP programs at Pasadena Villa and did not know what to expect, but I never even dared to hope that it would be as remarkable and rewarding of an experience as it turned out to be. All of the staff at Pasadena Villa have my sincerest gratitude and thanks for providing the most important experience of my life, and for helping me discover the gift of hope for the future.
