Please take this review as an accurate representation of Dr. Pillai and her office. We have been with Dr. Pillai for 10 years and have nothing but great things to share. I understand that people with bad experiences are always the first to share their experiences, but I think it is unfortunate that the only vocal reviews are those with negative experiences. In all of our visits, I can say we have never had a bad experience. If you are not interested in the rest of the review to follow, please know that I fully recommend Dr. Pillai to anyone and regularly give this recommendation to family and friends alike.Below are an account of some of our memorable experiences with Dr. Pillai over the years:With each of our kids, Dr. Pillai was ALWAYS the only physician to see them after birth. She makes a point to release the baby as soon as is safe and never made us wait. In one case, Dr. Pillai made a special trip to the hospital, after a complicated delivery, to release our little one so that we wouldn't have to stay another night.Dr. Pillai gives you her cell phone number!! I don't mean this in the figurative sense, like she gives you a pager number or call service number, it is her actual cell phone number for the phone she carries on her person! I have personally called Dr. Pillai after/before office hours and she has either answered or called back within a few minutes. The reasons for our calls have always been urgent in nature and is always able to give direction based on the information you provide her. On one occasion, we had a 2 year old with a very high fever. We called Dr. Pillai and she directed us to the ER. What's more, she called the ER to let them know we were en route. They expedited our wait and got our little one on fluids almost immediately. Like Dr. Pillai, her office and office staff are extremely helpful and professional. I have always been able to make an appointment for illness/injury in the same day. Her office staff is compassionate and will consult Dr. Pillai directly to determine where to fit your child into the schedule. Just recently, I was able to get a little one in the at 9:00 a.m. after calling at 8:00 a.m. We have also seen Dr. Van on several occasions and are equally pleased with her service. She, like Dr. Pillai, takes the time to answer all questions and makes sure you are comfortable with the treatment provided. On that note, the office staff always informs you when your appointment is with Dr. Van and not Dr. Pillai. If you prefer to see Dr. Pillai, you just let the scheduler know and she will give you appointment options. Seeing the PA is always your option and the office makes that clear. For first time parents, I share this story:Our first baby was a slightly jaundice after a few days with mom in the hospital. Dr. Pillai gave us the option: leave the baby, without mom in the hospital OR take baby home and bring her in to see her the next day. We opted to get baby home and visit Dr. Pillai the next day. At our visit, Dr. Pillai determined that her jaundice was slightly higher and wanted us to have blood work done that day. As first time parents, we were scared and concerned. We took the baby for her blood work and were told we would have the results the next day, which is an eternity for new parents. At 7:00 p.m., two hours after getting bloodworm done, Dr. Pillai called us at home. The blood work came back OK and she wanted us to know as soon as possible so we could rest easy. It was a huge relief and we really felt how much Dr. Pillai cared, not only about her patient, but also about us as parents.I don't know if Yelp has a contact function, but if you need more reasons for why I recommend Dr. Pillai without hesitation, feel free to contact me.
