I could not have made a better decision than choosing Dr. Bates as my plastic surgeon. I had been wanting a BBL on and off for years, as I had wanted to transform my athletic build to more feminine. When I consulted with Dr. Bates, I knew he envisioned everything exactly what I was hoping to accomplish with this surgery. The two most important things that stood out to me was his honesty about the results he could accomplish with one BBL surgery and the fact that he was not trying to sell himself. He really showed that he cares about his patients, which is why I chose to move forward with him, rather than various other surgeons in CA.During my consultation, he was also very honest about the complications that can happen with getting a BBL, and gave plenty of pamphlets explaining everything one should know before surgery. I had already talked myself out of getting a BBL various times because I would go read the horror stories about women going to Miami or Mexico to get a less expensive procedure done, but then are faced with numerous complications, and unfortunately, sometimes death. With Dr. Bates, because he showed he cared about his patients and was being honest about everything, I felt extremely confident in him and his staff. Fast forward to two days later, I was in the OR getting a BBL by Dr. Bates!Not to brag, but I had probably one of the best recoveries post BBL surgery. The day after my surgery, I had to stop myself from moving around too much. I felt amazing, only a little sore on my abdomen, back, and butt. A better word to describe the feeling was sensitive. I felt so good, and already happy with my new body, even though I had a lot of swelling. My 1-week post-op appointment with Dr. Bates made me feel like a million dollars, because I felt amazing and was healing very well. Of course, there are so many factors that play into recovery, but I can guarantee that a plastic surgeon who performed your surgery properly plays a large role.If you are looking for a plastic surgeon, I highly recommend choosing Dr. Bates. He is not only a phenomenal surgeon, but he is also a very down to earth human being. I made the best decision for myself when choosing Dr. Bates as my plastic surgeon!

I had a double mastectomy plus radiation prior to getting my reconstructive surgery. My mastectomy/radiation left me with extensive surgical trauma/scar/disfigurement. I first met Dr.Bates a year prior to mastectomy and then again post mastectomy/radiation. The ease of my appointment was great, comfort level great, follow up care great . Unlike most patients because of my mastectomy I had a highly invasive procedure that needed an extremely skilled microsurgeon ( 12 hour surgery) . My procedure was called a diep … basically he used my tummy skin, fat and some blood vessels , transferred to chest area to recreate new breast . It takes a skilled hand/microsurgeon and attention to every small detail to have a successful diep done. I am 100% satisfied with pre op care, post op care, pain management and mostly his explanation of realistic expectations based on one’s individual case. I will be seen him in future for cosmetic surgery unrelated to cancer.

Dr. Bates is hands down the best. He explains everything with detail and answers any questions so you feel comfortable. I would recommend anyone planning on getting a breast augmentation to go to him. I have heard nothing but good things about this Dr. Bates and the other doctors at this office. The staff and nurses are knowledgeable and super nice and my whole experience was awesome and since it was my first surgical experience and a really good one from the time I made the appointment till my last was a really good experience I was always seen right away. I never sat waiting like at some other doctors offices I’ve been to before I I discovered Dr. Bates. Did I Mention I love my results!!!! I got exactly what I wanted . I couldn’t be happier. Let them know you saw my review when you make your appointment!! You won’t be disappointed.

After meeting Dr. Bates for my consultaion for a breast lift and augmentation I knew he was the Dr. For me! I have a very extensive medical history with numerous difficult surgeries and Dr. Bates took the time to go through everything with me so he could plan the best approach to the surgery he would perform on me. He has the BEST bedside manner and really cares about his patients and their families. On the day of surgery I felt right at ease and woke up happy and in the least amount of pain I've EVER been in after any surgery!! The healing process and has been a breeze and I have had zero complications (something not typical for me). At each and every follow up appointment Dr. Bates has listened and addressed any questions or concernsI had and has even become my 3 year old daughter's FAVORITE Dr to with me to! If you are considering any kind of cosmetic surgery I cant recommend Dr. Bates enough! He has the skill, forethought, and bedside manner you want in a surgeon. Thank you Dr. Bates for restoring my confidence and self esteem and making this mama feel great about herself again!!

Dr Bates delivered an amazing experience from start to finish. I met with him for a complimentary consultation for breast augmentation and lift for mild tuberous breasts. The first encounter was super pleasant! His bedside manner is superb! He was clear in explaining what would give me the best outcome and answered all my (many) questions. He knew I had done my research and was very transparent about everything that could be done. I saw him a second time because I had even more questions, and he was just as kind as the first time. I had 8 other consultations, but ended up going back to Dr Bates because he gave me the best information and scenario for my particular case. Every appointment with him was this way. I got my BA/BL a week ago, and he nailed it! Even though my case was slightly complicated, his work looks fantastic and I'm thrilled with the results so far. I highly recommend him for all your PS needs. I also got Botox for my TMJ with him, and one syringe of Voluma, and I'm pleased with both! Dr Bates rocks!!!

I can't say enough good things about Dr Bates and his entire staff.  They were all very kind and caring, making me very comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. The work he did was fantastic. I would not hesitate to go back or recommend him to my friends.

Dr Bates is an extremely skilled plastic surgeon as well as a very kind and empathetic Doctor. I needed a lumpectomy (and a reduction on the other breast to match) and he did a truly amazing job. I now have slightly smaller breasts that look natural and well shaped .... I always feel like the result that he achieved turned my distressing experience with cancer from lemons into lemonade! I am deeply grateful to Dr Bates for both his great work and his kindness. He is a wonderful and very talented Doctor.
