List of Southwestern Eye Center's Reviews
I always wait at least 45 min to see a doctor except for Dr. Brill! She is fabulous and takes her time to listen. She immediately had me taken care of and in the proper hands. This review is about Dr. Garcia who I waited 50 mins in a hot office (this place never has air circulating). I attempted to explain an extraordinary issue with my eye lashes/lid which has gone on for years. She refused to listen, she articulated in her own words she is an expert with a 16x lens and there was NOTHING wrong! Despite my protest and request to use eye drops to look closer she rushed on to the next patient. . I am a very kind person who takes the time to write positive reviews and this is my first negative. I felt as if she was-insinuating this was a made up problem and it was evident I was taking up her precious time. Meanwhile , I have unresolved eye lash/lid issues for the past 4 years. She had multiple patients at one time and I was honored to have maybe seven minutes at the most. Dr. Brill is an exception and by far deserves five stars. If you want a specialty doctor who listens it’s not Dr. Garcia! Perhaps she might have suggested a dermatologist or an allergy specialist as my friend (a nurse) suggested after explaining this frustrating experience. Factually, this was a disrespectful and a rude experience in an office that reminds me of an eye factory.
It was my first time visiting an eye doctor, so I don't have a lot to compare to, but I did feel like everyone was very thorough and very kind. The staff was truly so enjoyable to be around, they made my experience so great. They explained everything to me and answered all of my questions.
The staff and eye doctor was very professional and quick in getting the help that I needed for my vision.
Had my appointment and right afterwards purchased a very expensive pair of eye glasses ($700.00). I received an email after two weeks the glasses were ready. I called the optical shop (just before 5:00 p.m.) and made an appointment for the following morning for pick up with Madison. I arrived a bit early (drove across town) to find the optical shop "closed." I was dumbfounded by this! Receptionist was "no help" just kept saying "they are closed today." No one let me know their change of plans and will NEVER EVER do business with this outfit again! I don't need to purchase the YSL glasses from them so I will not return nor do business there ever again! Wasted my time and day as I rescheduled many appointments for that one! Plenty of other places to have your eyes checked and buy pricey glasses where they treat you nicely instead of such unprofessionalism-wow, go elsewhere.
My family and I experienced professional, courteous and knowledgeable service. Dr. Matthew showed my son attention and great care. Time there was well spent.Thank you.
This was my first time visiting Dr Palmer for my annual diabetic eye exam. And it was a great experience. Brooke and Amaya went step by step with me about what was going to be done and did an amazing job making me feel comfortable. Dr. Palmer was quick and efficient and made nice conversation. I would recommend anyone who is looking for an optometrist to come to Southwestern eye center located on Miller/Osborn in Scottsdale.
Office people are very nice and competent. I like Dr. Palmer, but clearly did not appreciate being taken from the waiting room 45 minutes late without so much as an apology. The patient's time is as valuable as the doctor's time
I notice Southwest Eye will charge you for missed appointments and late arrival. But when they are, late you just wait. It appears their time is valuable, mine is not. It was more than twenty minutes between my appointment time and the time I was called. I will say, once in the office, I was treated well.
Dr. Palmer is great - and to make things even better all of the staff in the Scottsdale Southwestern Eye Center office are extremely friendly and helpful! In particular, Liah at the front desk went above and beyond to help me. I booked the wrong appointment type for my needs and she was able to help me get it fixed AND get my new insurance information sorted out and inputted correctly. I was really nervous going into my appointment because I knew that I had messed up when booking it online and she was so kind and friendly helping to get it fixed!
Dr Sangave is caring, competent, and explains eye issues in a way that makes sense. I trust his judgement and experience. I highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
