She is very thorough and takes the needed time to understand my medical concerns. Dr. Degenhardt is quite intelligent and knows her stuff. I have been under her care for 7 years and I can truly say I am blessed to have such a skilled physician to care for me. She has made a huge difference in the quality of my life.

This neurologist is by far the very best neurologist you can ever hope to have. She doesn't just read test results like most of them. She actively asks pertinent questions to solve the most difficult of neurological issues. She genuinely cares about her patients, even if it may appear in a no-nonsense fashion. She is always patient and listens to all of my concerns regarding Myasthenia Gravis as well as new symptoms. She has helped me figure out what medications are right for me. And she is very informative.

For nearly ten years I suffered from strange neurological issues. They seem to come and go with little explanation. Numerous MRIs, ENGs, muscle biopsies, you name it...I was given several different diagnosis including the last from my Florida doctor, a devastating motor neuropathy disease. I believed I had MS and sought an expert in Dr. Degenhardt, thankfully she reran tests, tried successfully to treat with the least innocuous of all potentials meds. To say I feel 50% better is an understatement. I can sleep again, my muscle spasms are manageable and while I still see some progression...it is vastly improved and I feel like its manageable.

Dr. Degenhardt takes time to ask about symptoms and progress and has helpful guidance about coping with the daily living challenges of Parkinson's, as well as adjusting medications to address symptoms. She is very bright and thoughtful.

I noticed some of the reviews of this neurologist portrayed her in a negative way. I was seeing her when I lived in Augusta between 7/2012 and 1/2013. She began working at Pen Bay neurology in 2011. Hospital politics that prevent doctors from acting autonomously can erode morale, and this may have been what has happened with this neurologist. Doctors who are free to act autonomously have higher morale than doctors whose autonomy is constrained by hospital policies. I'd recommend her to anyone.
