Alfred Colfry

Every women dreads a diagnosis of breast cancer, but meeting and working with Dr. Colfry made a difficult situation much more pleasant and bearable. His obvious empathy and compassion for all of his patients is remarkable, reassuring, and encouraging. His surgical skills are incomparable. I had a lumpectomy performed a little over a year ago. From the choices that Dr. Colfry made, and the range of options that I was offered, I felt then, and continue to feel now that I am extremely fortunate to be under his care. Post surgery, I had no problems, no evident scar, no scar tissue, and truly nothing to remind me that anything was done! Follow up visits and screenings continue to provide a safety net. Though I certainly never wanted to hear a diagnosis of breast cancer after a routine mammogram, I can honestly say that Dr. Colfry and his staff turned a dark moment into something positive.

Amazing surgeon with great bedside manner. He went above and beyond to make sure we had all the answers needed to successfully operate and treat my breast cancer. Very thorough and always took the time I needed to answer any and all questions I had, as well as giving me information I did not even think to ask for. I do not think I could have had better care.

Dr Colfry and Staff always made me feel comfortable. Answers all of my questions with alot of patience. He is an awesome surgeon. They all make you feel that they really care for you and your progress.

Dr. Colfry is excellent in that he treats each patient with respect, patience, compassion and genuine concern. He listens intently and spends time making sure the patient completely understands the diagnosis and treatment plan. Terry follows through with compassion, efficiency and availability. His entire office makes you feel appreciated and eager to assist in any way possible. Dr. Colfry made my unfortunate situation one into a positive experience with excellent results after extensive surgery. I give him the highest recommendation .

Very knowledgable and polite. Speaks to patients in terms they can understand, never rushed my mom through an appointment. Dr Colfry and his office staff are so, patient, genuine and tender in their demeanor.

I just read the only review on here stating and I quote "can't be trusted". I don't know or understand what that is all about but my experience with Dr Colfry and his nurse Terry has been nothing but excellent, caring, patient, considerate, informative and exactly how it was explained and described to me. My lumpectomy scar is very minor. I had hardly no pain during the recover time. No complications what so ever. He even called me personally and his nurse stayed in contact also. He is highly recommended!

Dr. Colfry's personable warm bedside manners and friendly personality made one of the worst events in my sister's life very comfortable and manageable for her. He was informative and available to the family and we each thank him for his professionalism.

The best decision of my life was to listen to my personal physician's urging and my own personal prayers which brought me to Dr. John Colfry. Recently diagnosed with breast cancer and after the consultation with Dr. Colfry, it was crystal clear that being at Touro and under his expert care was exactly where I needed to be. Due to specifics of my cancer and long history, I chose bilateral mastectomy. Dr. Colfry performed a Hidden Scar Nipple-sparing Bilateral Mastectomy and I could not be more happy with my result, as it is now impossible to tell that I have had breast surgery. Dr. Colfry took excellent care of me while in the hospital and I am thrilled to remain a patient in follow-up care. His knowledge, skill and expertise in this field is unmatched and genuine compassion for his patients is precious and plentiful commodity. It is not an exaggeration to say that on a scale from 1 -10, Dr. Colfry rockets to 50!!! I cannot recommend him highly enough. Any woman receiving a breast cancer diagnosis or ANY concerns in her breasts should be under his care. Distance is not a factor; I drive from across the lake to see him and would triple that distance if necessary. I remain eternally grateful and his biggest fan!

Dr. John Colfry is a brilliant surgeon and most compassionate physician. Diagnosed w breast cancer, I sat numb and frightened at our first meeting. Consult was detailed, unhurried and his genuine concern was obvious. Dr. C. performed a nipple sparing bilat mastectomy with an improved new hidden scar technique, and my results are exceptional. I highly recommend Dr. Colfry; there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God that I am under his care. His assistant, Terri, is also phenomenal.
