Angela Kadenhe-Chiweshe

Dr. Kadenhe-Chiweshe performed an emergency appendectomy on my six year old son. She was absolutely lovely. She made my son laugh and made us parents feel really good about the surgery. She’s a true gem.

We saw Dr. Chiweshe for follow up after my son had a serious injury out of state. Full of empathy for my son and for me as a parent, she explained every little detail in a way that had not been done (maybe could not have been done) when the accident happened. Although we don't expect to need any surgery with Dr. Chiweshe related to this injury, we (my son and I, as well as the rest of his support network) feel in the best possible hands.

Dr. Chiweshe is incredible! We met her after our GI doctor recommended we seek out an evaluation from a pediatric surgeon. It was a daunting process but I cannot highlight enough how our fears disappeared after our meetings. From the first meeting through the biopsies, Dr. Chiweshe was incredibly empathetic and so knowledgeable that we felt so much at ease. She explained everything with patience and we completely trust her through it. When results of the first biopsy came back, she called us herself during the holidays and on her day off to relay the information. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our treatment team. I would unequivocally recommend her and I hope Weill Cornell knows how lucky they are to have her!

Dr. Chiweshe and team are phenomenal. We thought we'd meet Dr. Chiweshe just once when our twins' g-tubes were placed, but Dr. C. and her team (shoutout to Emily!) were with us every step of the way, accessible for questions and emergencies, helpful in brainstorming solutions, and kind, empathetic and invested in our babies. We had so many doc appointments across Weill Cornell, but we ALWAYS looked forward to seeing Dr. C and team. Having g-tubes was a challenging chapter, but it wasn't SCARY, completely credited to this practice.
