My father (age 62) went to see Dr. Pradhan with a shoulder injury that occurred more than 6 years ago. At that point there was severe negative impact on quality of life - trouble sleeping, inability to hold up arm, and general pain doing every day things.Scheduling appointment was easy and during the first visit X-Ray was performed with a suspicion of severe rotator ligament tare. This was confirmed by MRI scan. Follow up visit was very informative, Dr. Pradhan described the injury, showed images on the screen, and drew a sketch of potential 3 ways to fix it. Realistically, there were only 2 options - repair by reattaching the tendon or total shoulder replacement. It was clear that waiting 6 years did only harm and it was a big possibility that the muscle had atrophy and it would not be repairable which meant total shoulder replacement.Pre-op appointment went well, confirmed the plan, got covid test, and clearance from primary doctor. The surgery went very well. Dr. Pradah was able to repair torn ligament and reattach. Fantastic work, could not be happier with the procedure. Tiny incisions, nicely stitched, minimal swelling. His Physician Assistant was there along the way and was incredibly helpful in informing and supporting through the entire process.Father has a high tolerance for pain and had to be on heavy pain medication only for 1 day. Slept on a recliner for 2 weeks, resumed working (delivery driver) 2 weeks after surgery. Was in the sling for total 6 weeks. We could not stress enough the importance of good PT, it helped with the recovery process immensely. Now it has been 4 months, there is no pain doing every day chores. Some discomfort during very active tasks, but already well ahead of what it was before. Mobility is back to normal! Sleeping through night, no repositioning needed. Could not ask for more.In sum, Dr. Pradhan and the team did an amazing job, recommended to anyone. If something troubles you, do not wait, get it checked and taken care of. He will help improve your quality of life and restore function.
