I am so happy and relieved to have Urologist Dr.Charles Kim take care of me and my unwanted kidney stones. Thanks to Dr. Kim i have one left to go. His staff has been incredible. Usually i have to chase people around to find out the status of appointments but I didn’t with Dr. Kim’s crew. My CT scan was set up perfectly for me and my follow up appointment with Dr. Kim as well. Special Mahalo to Mei-Ling, she kept me in the loop about what was going on. Your awesome!!! Everyone works so hard to help you. They truly care because it shows. All i can say is Thank you so so much!!! Keep up the Great job you all are doing! I was here 7 months ago and wasn’t expecting to be back this soon. Two kidney stones this time and they were just as bad, if not, worse than the last time? I guess it really doesn’t matter, either way it was an excruciating nightmare. I have a very high pain tolerance too!! Dr. Kim was extremely booked so I saw a Nurse Practitioner Toni Ballard APRN. She immediately put me at ease, answered all my questions and got the kidney stones rolling. Literally. Much MAHALO to the entire staff once again. I love you all but I really hope I won’t have to come back any time soon or at all. You understand. 😣

Within 24 hours, upon referral, Dr. Kim called on a Saturday morning to schedule a consultation for early Monday and his proactive stance was evident right from the outset. When the diagnosis confirmed a 7.1 cm malignant liposarcoma obstructing the right kidney and ureter, Dr. Kim pre-arranged with a general surgeon imminent surgery. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Kim’s presence in the operating room was reassuring. After the general surgeon successfully excised the tumor, Dr. Kim’s own brilliance and skill shone as he seamlessly reconstructed a replacement ureter, using the appendix, and saved my right kidney. Dr. Charles Kim is truly an amazing surgeon and his commitment to his profession is unparalleled. A caring and thoughtful thinker, Dr. Kim is extremely modest, and quick to give others credit. I researched prostate surgeons thoroughly, with the help of a research urologist friend. I thought I would go to one of the recognized top 4 in the nation, since I had family and close friends near 3 of those 4 surgeons. Dr. Kim gave me no pressure, just clearly answering the many questions I had developed. His answers SURPRISINGLY changed my mind.
