Cherokee Health Systems

I have been treated very well at Cherokee Health Systems in Seymour. Everyone has been professional, caring and kind during each of my three visits over the last year. I originally had an MD that I saw, but he retired and I see a nurse practitioner who is down to earth and listens to me. When you call for anything, they are efficient, personable and professional. I have no insurance and the prices are adjusted where I can afford it. The facility even has its own laboratory! I am happy to be able to use their health care services.

Sara Propst is a terrible provider that knows absolutely nothing about real trauma and more than likely will re traumatize anyone who experienced terrible abuse, as Cherokee Health Systems clinicians from the top down would rather protect their egos by telling themselves the client was resistant to treatment, which is why they abruptly stop instead of acknowledging the client was asking for longer sessions and more frequent appointments that are not two to three weeks out, as 30-minute sessions serve absolutely no purpose to anyone unless you just want to be heard. How it's legal to give such short sessions to people with severe mental troubles in the state of Tennessee is beyond me. If you see a Cherokee Health clinician once every two weeks for a 30-minute session, you are going to see them for a total of 12 hours a year. You will not build trust with them in that time frame if you experience real trauma, so I recommend you go somewhere else.

My husband has been a patientvther for 10 years. The past few years the Seymour office has went downhill. He went to he checked because he didn't feel well. The Nurse practitioner told him they were so under staffed she couldn't check his ears. He ended up having to go to a walk in clinic and be treated. Thankfully they took car of him because his ear drum could have burst. Don't put your health at risk going there.

I am very disappointed with the health care services in Maryville. My daughter called this morning to talk to nurse. She has been very sick for several days and started getting worse during the night. Probably severely dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea. She called early this morning but received no call. I advised her call back around 2pm and was assured she would receive call from nurse but as of 8pm has no returned call. This is so unprofessional and inappropriate for health care facility.

The physicians there do nothing to help patients. The office staff don't know what they are doing. Don't waste your time.

Big mistake going to Cherokee Health Systems for anything!! This place is a joke, nothing but quacks! Never see a doctor, just a "nurse practitioner ", and she refused to prescribe me an asthma medication that I have taken for 15 years that worked perfectly, instead switched me to one that has me using a rescue inhaler every hour! And she dismisses me when I tell her.... Then she dismisses my back pain and says I'm imagining it and it's really a symptom of depression, even though my MRI report shows spinal stenosis, narrowing of the spinal cord, lesions, several protruding discs with tears, and synovial cysts... It's pure insanity she is able practice medicine! And then they say they put a referral in for an orthopedic Dr but here I am still waiting THREE MONTHS later! I have never dealt with such absurdities in my life! Nothing but pain and suffering dealing with that place. Stay away at all costs!

Took my newborn there.... never actually saw a DOCTOR.... who we did see ended up using the old scare the patient tactic to try and force formula on our baby when all we needed for her to do was to tell us to feed her more BREASTMILK more often (we didnt know... we're first time parents)... needless to say we changed DRs and "magically" all of her problems were resolved.... hmmmm yea wouldnt recommend this place to anyone with infants....
