CHI Vincent - Morrilton has always been my “go to” hospital whenever I require medical attention. I live in Russelville, yet I will purposefully drive the extra miles to Morrilton so that I may receive the excellent level of care I’ve grown accustomed to at CHI St. Vincent. From the moment I walk in, the staff has my care first and foremost on their minds. Have there ever been occurrences when I’ve had to wait or I may have been unhappy with something? Of course, let’s be honest with one another. This IS a hospital and there will be times when stressful situations do present themselves whether I’m involved or not. That being said, those few times do not detract from my overall experiences at CHI St. Vincent- Morrilton. If anything, they only prove my point more. These professionals are human. They face stressful situations every minute, of every day, to ensure our continued safety. One never knows what their day is going to look like yet they must be prepared for anything and everything.A quiet moment spent tending a patient experiencing migraines, can quickly escalate to all hands on deck when a five car vehicle crash comes rolling in the door via neighboring ambulances, plus their own from the hospital. Add in Life Flight coming in hot with a three-year-old who fell off a second-story banister who now needs a neurologist ASAP or they’ll suffer irreparable brain damage. You’re in Exam Room 3 caught up in the middle of all of this while you’re experiencing a pulled calf muscle.I think I can forgive a bit of frayed nerves when situations escalate like the one I just described. We are in an Emergency Room, after all. These are trained professionals dealing with crisis situations. They make life and death decisions all the time while my hardest choice was deciding what to put in this commentary. I kid, but you get my point. In regards to the hospital’s other services, I have always experienced staff who seem to make it a point to go above and beyond their expected job requirements to ensure a patient has excellent care; especially the staff admitting patients into the hospital. I wish I had their names. These two women are shining stars who deserve public recognition. There was always a super nice man too but I haven’t seen him recently. Anyway, I am digressing. The Admissions Staff are exemplary. The hospital is always clean and organized. Each department I’ve dealt with has always treated me as if I’m their sole concern in that particular moment. I cannot tell you how much this means to me. It’s exactly why I continue to leave Russellville and drive to Morrilton for all of my medical needs. St. Mary’s is literally five minutes away from my home but I have informed my entire family to bring me here, to CHI St. Vincent - Morrilton. The laboratory services are always quick, clean, and brightly lit. The phlebotomist does an outstanding job drawing my blood each and every time. She does it the old school way - which I greatly prefer. By only using only one syringe and avoiding the butterfly needle, there is far less jostling of the needle in my vein. She’s amazing.I highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking to continue their medical treatments. The staff goes above and beyond to provide their patients with excellent healthcare. You may have some hiccups along the way but this is only realistic in a hospital setting. It’s the nurses, doctors, and supporting staff working tirelessly behind the scenes who are the true heroes. They’re the real reason I shall continue choosing this hospital time and time again even though I have one much closer to my home.Thank you CHI St. Vincent- Morrilton for everything you’ve done for not only me, but everyone else within our community. You’ve helped so many people with your tireless dedication to helping save lives, one person at a time.
