Pretty much the worst medical experience Ive ever had.I enter the office and check in at the desk, giving the lady my insurance card as she asks for it. She stares at it confusedly for a few minutes, and then asks me what my copay is. I say nothing, because I dont have any copay (I have a strange HSA plan). She doesnt believe me.She asks me to use the office telephone to get a rep from Cigna on the line in order to explain to them how my insurance works, since my explanation wasnt good enough. Let me repeat that *I* was told to call my insurance company, and get a rep on the line.I do so, anyways, providing all the information the rep needs to open my account (social, birthday, address, etc.) I hand the phone to the lady at the desk and sit down again. The rep starts reconfirming all the information from the offices lady, probably because thats standard practice (since a new person is on the phone). The lady asks me for my birthday and social, and the doctor, who is sitting there, starts yelling at me that I should have already provided all this information (which I did, and he heard me doing) and that I should have stayed on the line with them while they were talking (seriously?).Anyways, that happens, and finally they figure out how much my visit is going to cost. I pull out my HSA debit card and they tell me sorry, we dont take credit. No problem, this is a debit card. We dont take those either, check or cash only. The doctor yelling at me was the last straw, and not taking my card just gave me a quick exit from this horrendous practice. Stay away.Given that this is Chinatown, perhaps Chinese patients probably will have a more reasonable experience. :/
