Dear Dr. Buxton: I just wanted to send a brief note to show my deep appreciation for your willingness to meet with me multiple times over the holiday regarding my medical condition. Your dedication, attention and professionalism meant a lot to me, and I wish you and your friendly and professional staff all the best in 2019.

I had Pterygium surgery 2 years ago, woun't say its not painful but if you do choose to have surgery DR.Buxton is the Doctor you want he was great my eye was beautiful again.Thanks DR.Buxton

Dr. Douglas Buxon is in my humble opinion, the most knowledgeable and competent Opthamologist Specialist in his profession. When we came to him, my Mother was in a very poor condition. She was treated very poorly and had inferior medical care prior to arriving to see him. My Mother would probably be totally blind if not for the integral part he played in restoring her eyesight after having a negative encounter with an incompetent group of doctors that were not nearly as proficient in their diagnosis and treatment for her needs. I sincerely wish that we had come to him and his team at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary at the onset of my Mothers deteriorating visual challenges. I highly recommend that if anyone reading this post have ANY optical challenges that Dr. Buxton be one that you seek out FIRST to evaluate your condition.Its been nearly ten (10) years, at least five (5) surgeries and I am happy to report that Dr. Buxton is STILL passionate, compassionate, professional, well informed as well as informing, proactive ( in his synopsis ) with a high level of integrity ( absolutely NOT practicing for economic gain ) I have personally discerned that he loves helping people. His support staff is second to none as well. Great doctor and GREAT MAN.

I've been seeing Dr. Buxton for 20 years. I have a very complex cornea disease and the only reason i'm not blind is because of all the hard work and appropriate treatment from Dr. Buxton. He is beyond excellent.

I saw Dr. Buxton for an IOL evaluation and implantation procedure. He is rated as one of the top practitioners in his field. I found his staff to be cordial and efficient. Dr.Buxton exercised a great deal of care and precision in evaluating my condition and answered all my questions to my satifaction addressing all of my concerns respectfully... He subsequently performed the the surgical procedure (under local anesthesia)in the NYEEI..I was impressed by the skilled professional manner in which he conducted his work and I am very satisfied by the results....My eyesight is now restored as it should be......if you are seriously considering Dr. Buxton I suggest that you also search Castle Connolly's, Top Doctors In America, Guides To Top Doctors and New York Magazine's, New York's Best Doctors....

The waiting time to see Dr. Buxton is awful . . . but I always plan ahead for that when I see him . . . I like to think that his professionalism doesn't allow him to turn anyone away, so his office is always over-booked (maybe naive on my part, but I really believe he's a consummate professional, who is aware of what a good doctor he is, and wants to help as many people as possible).  He is considered one of the best ophthalmologists in NYC (always listed in publications like "Best Doctors in NY" and several other publications, where doctors are rated by their peers, not by their patients - that is, other DOCTORS think he's impressive) . . . I consider myself lucky to be his patient, and just suck up the waiting time . . . .
