Excellent eye specialist

Dr. Sohmer found a condition my previous doctor missed. She was shocked they didn't properly diagnos the problem dispite repeated visits I had made to their office, displaying obvious signs and symptoms. She got me into a specialist immediately.

She is the best eye dr I have been to and I have plenty of vision problems. Don’t waste your money at any of these chain places where they don’t have real dr.

Dr. Sohmer is an extremely thorough physician. She always compares your current test results to prior readings to determine if there are any trends that need to be monitored. She remains current in all advancements in the eye care field and uses the latest technology to evaluate patients. I am very comfortable with all of her recommendations. They are fact based.

Always professional and informative on all my annual eye exam visits and trips for eye infection. Very experienced which I like.

I debated whether I should even write a review because part of the dissatisfaction is due to her age. However, I decided to go ahead with my posting because the problem is not just that. 1) first impression: she arguably has a lot of experience in her field, but when she is unable to hear her patient and needs a second or third person to double or triple explain what the patient is saying, there is a problem. 2) she is not just unable to hear well, she does not listen to the patient. This is even a bigger issue. When the patient tries to explain what is bothering her, the history and chronology of the symptoms, what measures have been taken thus far, etc. she needs to pay attention and then diagnose based on her experience. She does not. She hears and listens to what she wants to and repeats the same thing that the patient precisely said was not the issue.FRUSTRATING! We are paying good money for insurance premiums, co-pays, time and effort to see a professional. We need better than this!

I left there more confused than informed.

The first thing I noticed was How dirty the waiting area was which was bad for my first impression. A staff member yelled at her coworker, and I mean really attacked the person with what she said. My appointment was disappointing because I didn't think they listened to me and she was abrupt and I felt she was condescending to me. The checkout person was nice, but overall, I won't be returning and I would not recommend
