I'm suffering from miserable horrible back/leg pain I randomly chose Advanced Spine & Joint Care and I spoke with Dr. Elliot told him my symptoms to hear 'let's get you in here and I'll have you feeling some relief'. It's so bad I'm on crutches, I limp in to my Friday appointment, go to a back room where I'm rushed like the previous two patients, without much examination at all, no in house x-ray or MRI or any kind of tools like that, I was told best option was a 90 day rehab program, and that was pretty much it. Hardly any exam to come to that conclusion...I mean, if you tell someone on the phone you're going to help them, and they come in AND YOU DON'T EVEN TRY to help them?? I mean I was hobbling around with a cane and even needed help lifting my leg, no help, no relief as promised, zip, nada, not even much of an effort, instead most of the appointment was spent 'pre-selling' me on this grand rehab program for just a pinched nerve. So... I'm told I have to come back the next day. When he's telling me he often charges $175 for this initial visit kind surprised not to get any much treatment or real examination. He could obviously tell I was disappointed when I was checking out and paying, but when he did say 'Come in tomorrow for a no cost visit and we'll go over the options and start." So I go in next day for said 'no-cost appointment' meeting to discuss and start the treatment. He starts off by putting on a recorded video about treatment, using a decompression table, 'If this looks like an easy process it is because it is' as the video puts it, you're just placed on the table for 30-45 mins, the doctor turns it on..So I'm stoked, then he comes in the room and tells me he's got one of these tables right in the other room, but NO, I WILL NOT BE SEEING IT lol. I know it sounds unbelievable, turns out he changed his mind and he will not be going to be going over the program or offering said treatment that day. As he put it "I want to see where your head is first". What?! You tell me to come in special for this, you're a professional supposedly, if you change your mind, you could have called me before I went through all the pain involved in getting to you (I've since moved on to a walker it's gotten that bad). If my money wasn't good enough that's fine, it a free market, but when you SPECIFICALLY TELL someone, especially being a professional in the medical industry...yes I'm bitter if you can't tell...I fell for the classic bait-and-switch not once but TWICE! My 1st appointment I was promised relief, nope, and 2nd appointment I was promised a no cost visit, nope, and a program review, no, and start of therapy, nope again. Ugh, does that count as four bait-and-switches I fell for? Before doing a thorough exam, running no tests or x-rays, and to propose a 90-day 24 visit program running $2000-$3000 as he told me, naturally I'm going to inquire on my other options, a cortisone shot runs $750-$1000 he told me was an option. So, now for the 2nd time, I'm leaving Dr. Elliot's office in horrible pain, and the pisser is, my no-cost program consultation/treatment visit included no program consultation, and was nothing near no-cost, I WAS CHARGED AGAIN A FOR ANOTHER USELESS VISIT. I mean that's gotta be the meanest thing ever to do to someone, he has me hobble in to his office, watch a treatment video that gives people with my condition great relief, send me away for another two days of painful torture (Sat to Mon), I told this bait-and-switch story to a few people, including a friend in sales, and he knew exactly what was going on, I didn't pass the doctor's 'Set-Up Close' or 'Pre-Close' sales technique, where when he focused those first 2 appointments on feeling me out on how much I would pay, as my sales friend explained, the doctor felt I wasn't a sure thing deal during his 'soft close', and using the 'Take Away' technique on that 2nd appointment, to intentionally have me wait 2 additional days and have me come in first thing Monday morning knowing that the pain will get worse I'll be an 'easier close' on Monday morning. I was lied to on both days, lots of fees no treatment...yes this was an expensive lesson learned but I'm cutting my losses, and hope I can help others avoid what I went through, this has been a horrible (and expensive) experience, and the only difference between when I met Dr. Elliot and now, is that now I have to use a walker and that my wallet is lighter. PS You may notice the price ranges in his quotes $2000-$3000 and $750-$1000 for the needle, why ranges and not a straight quote? My sales friend says 'That's why the 'set-up close', it is used to determine how much you can pay...my sales friend advises 'If you drive an expensive make of car, don't park it in front where it can be seen from inside the office because if you're seen getting out of an expensive car, the 'range-pricing' won't work in your favor.
