Meghan M. McKeever

I have not seen her for any pregnany/baby related needs, just for regular gyn visits as a patient beyond child bearing years. She is compassionate, calm, great bedside manner, explains information so it is easily understood. She is always prompt with followup on test results and ordering of necessary tests. I have not had any difficult/complex ob/gyn needs, so cannot comment on her from that perspective.

I usually hate doctors and feel like they just want to make money and don't care about fixing my problems - this was not the case with Dr. McKeever! I absolutely loved her, she was so helpful and really seemed like she wanted to get to the bottom of my problem as much as I did! She made me feel comfortable and didn't mind talking in depth with me about my problem (since I'd been having it so long it was a long story). I wish she could be my regular doctor and not just my gyno.

Dr. McKeever is the greatest doctor I've ever had oversee my healthcare. If I could give her ten stars I would. I cannot recommend her enough and encourage you to immediately schedule your next appointment with her. I wholeheartedly agree with her other reviewers. I'd like to elaborate with a few examples from my own experience to help you understand why so many of her patients feel so strongly about this remarkable doctor. When my husband and I were preparing to start our family in 2014, I began my quest to find the perfect Obstetrician and ultimately chose Dr. McKeever as she met my criteria - graduated from a top medical program; a woman who also had children; privileges at Swedish First Hill or UWMC - and was overwhelming recommended from a friend I really trusted. For my first pregnancy we were in a very unique situation as we knew we would be moving to Boston at the end of the first trimester for my husband to attend graduate school. Dr. McKeever still provided amazing care when it would have been easy to phone it in. I had researched a lot on my own, but always came to appointments with a lot of questions and she took the time to answer every single one. When I left Seattle for Boston I felt prepared to transition my care to another OB and wasn't worried as Dr. McKeever laid out how the remainder of my pregnancy would go in Boston. When we returned to Seattle in 2016 and prepared to add to our family I knew I wanted to work with Dr. McKeever. She did not disappoint and remained the doctor who exhibited brilliant expertise coupled with an approachable bedside manner and "cool as a cucumber" temperament. For example, my husband accompanied me to review the 20-week ultrasound we had an hour earlier. During the appointment he began peppering Dr. McKeever with questions regarding her stats and thoughts around delivery. All great questions, but his approach wasn't the greatest. Anyone else in that situation could have easily become defensive. But, Dr. McKeever kept her same calm attitude and answered all my husband's questions. I'll also share that Dr. McKeever is incredibly empathetic. One example occurred during my six week post-partum check. She shared that after she gave birth she felt that "I'm amazing! I made a baby! I have super powers!" as she recounted in a booming voice and I'm pretty sure there was a superman flex in there. This was exactly the type of thing I needed and felt she understood me. I left with a smile on my face which is no small feat for a mother of a newborn and energetic toddler! Dr. McKeever has also provided exceptional care for my son. She did not deliver my son as he made his appearance in the early morning hours. However, she did stop by our hospital room a few hours after he was born. She stood for a full 30 minutes plus rocking my son (total mom sway) as we talked about our exciting morning. She performed his circumcision a week later and I was grateful that she used a numbing cream and sucrose pacifier to ensure my son was as comfortable as possible. The surgery went perfectly, and my son's pediatrician gave Dr. McKeever high marks! I'm thrilled to continue working with Dr. McKeever as she oversees my gynecological care. After the birth of my child she helped me understand my different birth control options and the pros/cons to each. I decided to go ahead with an IUD and Dr. McKeever performed the placement eight weeks post-partum. I'll admit I was a little nervous, but she explained everything beforehand and talked me through it while she performed the placement. Honestly, it was one of the easiest medical procedures I've ever had, and I attribute that to Dr. McKeever. To be clear, OB/GYNs are surgeons. While Dr. McKeever has yet to perform an invasive procedure for me, I will say during the procedures she did perform she was always precise and looked very natural. Ever run around Green Lake at the start of a New Year's resolution and five minutes in you're sucking air only to be passed by two women who are effortlessly going three times your pace as they casually discuss last night's episode of Scandal - those women are Dr. McKeever. She confidently knows what she's doing and expertly carries it out. You aren't going in to this planning on having an emergency c-section. But, I knew if an issue arose I could trust that Dr. McKeever, scalpel in hand, would successfully get done whatever was necessary. I must mention Dr. McKeever's nurse, Molly. She's amazing. Molly's incredibly efficient getting you into the exam rooms on time and prepped for whatever was on the agenda for that check-up. On more than one occasion I had follow-up conversations with her on the phone and really valued her medical expertise. I feel incredibly fortunate to have Dr. McKeever and Molly for my medical team.

A compassionate doctor and excellent at what she does. I have been going to Dr. McKeever for over 5 years. She delivered my first born via C, and everything went great. She prepared me for what to expect and answered all my questions patiently. I can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and has a "natural" approach to medicine, which I appreciate. If you are pregnant, I highly recommend seeing this doctor.

Dr. McKeever was recommended to me by several moms who told me she was intelligent, calm, and capable during their high risk labors, and set them completely at ease in what could have been a stressful situation. I have been through 3 pregnancies with Dr. McKeever including two miscarriages, and one success! She has handled them each with the utmost care and consideration, through the ups and the downs. Even a few times she stayed late at the office to call me just to check how I was doing after disappointing appointments, or treatments. I never felt she was rushing me on my visits. She is very well educated with the latest in obgyn research, and you can tell she genuinely cares for her patients and their outcomes. Now most of my friends go to her also, and we all feel very lucky we found her!

I can't believe that I'm writing a review about an OBGYN on Yelp! But I read them online before vising Dr. McKeever so I figured I should extend the courtesy. If you don't have an OBGYN in Seattle yet - go to Dr. McKeever! She is excellent at putting you at ease and listening to concerns or questions that you have. Also, the gowns that you're given during the exam are the nicest ones I've ever worn when getting my annual exam, and you never feel rushed like I always did during gyno appointments. This is an all female practice and really does make you feel comfortable coming in and discussing personal issues. Highly recommended :)

Dr. McKeever is a fantastic OB. I have carried and delivered both of my children under her care and have been more than satisfied with my experience. Dr. McKeever is extremely personable, honest and easy to talk to about anything regarding pregnancy, labor and delivery. When I first went to Dr. McKeever I was frustrated after 2 years of trying to conceive. She immediately set up a plan for me, and a few months later we were pregnant (with no medical intervention - I was lucky with that.) I absolutely LOVED delivering my babies at Swedish Hospital under Dr. McKeever's care. Both of my babies were delivered naturally and have breastfed great from day 1. My family also has a rare genetic condition that causes me to be a higher risk for Uteran, Ovarian and Colon cancer. When I mentioned it to Dr. McKeever she was knowledgeable about the condition and has been more than thorough with yearly exams and procedures needed beyond the normal pap smear. I recommend her to anyone I know that is looking for an OB. Although I may be done having babies I will still continue to drive 30 miles to see her for my annual exams because I have had such a great experience under her care.

Dr. McKeever is very knowledgeable in her field. She is gentle and took time to get to know my fiancé and me. I always have my questions/concerns answered and was never rushed out of my appointment. During my pregnancy in 2012, I was informed that she would not be on-call around my due date and that there might be a chance another physician would deliver the little one. When arriving at the hospital, I was greeted by another physician who I thought would be the one that was going to bring my daughter into this world. Shortly after, Dr. McKeever came in to check on me and informed me that she would be there to deliver my baby. Already nervous about my first labor and delivery experience, I was relieved when she (someone who knew me from the beginning) was going to help me though this life changing event. She used every technique (position changes, vacuum assist, etc) she could to help me deliver my first baby vaginally. I only experience one minor inconvenience during my ante partum visit and that was when Dr. McKeever was at the hospital delivering a baby and I had to reschedule my appointment. It was no biggie. Being a first time mom going through L&D, I was glad she was there. I would gladly recommend Dr. McKeever to others.

I don't recommend Dr McKeever if you want to feel like your own voice and experience is central to how decisions will be made about your labor and delivery. While the dr gives ample time for questions, she does not do much asking herself - about what you and what you want. She consistently presented her plan for how my labor and delivery would be as though it were THE only plan, without asking what I wanted or discussing more than one option. She also focused almost entirely on physical health. Although her staff focused more on mental health, it made me uncomfortable that my primary OB devoted so little time to mental health, given how much it can affect pregnant and postpartum women. She also didn't seem to know more than I did about the effects of various antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds for pregnant women.

You know I really like Dr McKeever and all, but I was very disappointed with the experience that I had with her office. I was scheduled for a colpo and I arrived to the appointment on time. Once they got ready to check me in I noticed that I left my debit card at home and had 30.00 cash on me. After the receptionist checked with the billing department she told me that it couldn't be billed to me and that I wouldn't be able to be seen, and that I would have to reschedule the appointment because I couldn't pay my 35.00 copay; and they were told that by Dr McKeever and billing. I waited over a month for this appointment to check and make sure I don't have cervical cancer now it will be two more months before I can be seen at another clinic. I will be having this procedure done at a different clinic, and I don't know if I will be returning to Dr McKeever's office because I will forgive but I will never forget how they made me feel at that moment. Make sure you have your COPAY OR YOU WILL BE DENIED HEALTHCARE =(
