ROBERT A YOHAI

Dr. Yohai did my upper eyelid surgery a number of years ago, to reduce their size and weight.  They were impairing my vision.  Everything went very well.  About two years ago, he did cataract surgery on one of my eyes which also went very well and which helped my vision in that eye.  It was a more complicated, intricated surgery than the "normal" cataract surgery.  Now I am going to have cataract surgery on my other eye.  I have great confidence in his extensive knowledge and great skill.  I also like that he has modern examination equipment of many types in his office for complete examinations, no matter what the problem is.

Dr Yohai performed my cataract surgeries. I have a history that includes a childhood eye injury, which required painful & traumatizing surgery. To this day, I'm still very jumpy whenever anything gets close to my eyes. Dr Yohai was patient, calming, and did a spectacular job. I now see at nearly 20-20 & just donated my old glasses. I trust him to perform the ptosis surgery I will require. I can't say enough good things about him & his nurse, Jackie. Even his dog, Buddy, is a treat. Who'd have thought going to the eye doctor could be a pleasure?

After being undiagnosed, months of suffering (anemia, fever, headache, weight loss) several trips to the ER, 2 hospital stays and numerous test and consults, Dr. Robert Yohai was the only one who could diagnose my mom with Giant Cell Arteritis which can cause blindness if not treated. Thank you Dr. Yohai, we are so grateful!!

Dr . Yohai is one of the most kind and compassionate physicians I know. I have a pretty complicated eye history and Dr. Yohai has the knowledge and skill in order to preserve my vision. His office staff is warm and friendly and then there’s sweet Buddy who greats me with a wag and gallop once I enter the office!

Dr. Yohai was recommended to me for eyelid surgery by another plastic surgeon. (He actually said Dr Yohai would change my life!.) My eyelids were so droopy that I failed my DMV test! His staff were wonderful and got me in to see him promptly.Dr Yohai was very professional. He carefully examined my eyes and eyelids and informed me that we would first need to treat my dry eyes first, before raising my eyelids. He explained that my eyes would become drier when the eyelids were lifted, which they did but it wasn't a problem because we had started treatment before surgery.My surgery went great. After two weeks of healing my eyes were now once again big and beautiful! but my eye sight was now even more blurry. I was very worried and called Dr. Yohai's office. Dr Yohai came right to the phone, he reassured me and suggested we increase the dry eye treatment and re-evaluate in a week.When I saw him I was terrified that something had happened to my eyes. He performed extensive testing of my eyes for over an hour. He explained that I had cataracts and this was the cause of decreased vision. He also accounted for why my vision seemed worse after eyelid surgery: Essentially I was squinting before surgery so things looked clearer.He discussed all of the options for Cataract surgery with me. I had always need glasses to pass the DMV, so I chose the Toric lens implants to correct my astigmatism. After two brief and painless surgeries I now see 20/20 and passed the DMV test without glasses!I cannot recommend Dr Robert Yohai highly enough. He really did change my life!--Jeannie

Dr. Yohai deserves your considered judgment when selecting a cosmetic and eye surgeon.He's quiet, unassuming, and doesn't promote himself like some of the expensive, well-marketed competitors that also do blepharoplasties at premium prices.You can select him with confidence because he is a highly experienced, skilled surgeon. He has performed several procedures for me including cataract surgery to implant trifocal panoptic inner ocular lenses.He is highly respected by hospital staff, unflappable and calm in the OR. He is perfectionistic about his work and strives to deliver optimal results.I am well pleased with the outcome.

I went to Dr. Yohai due to severe double vision. After a thorough examination Dr. Yohai told me that I had significant strabismus in both eyes. A complicated situation that required surgery.The surgery is not lasik or computer assisted. Its success depends on the personal skill of the surgeon. What could be more perfect that a skilled surgeon who is a perfectionist! That's Dr. Yohai. My eyesight is excellent now.I highly recommend Dr. Yohai for all of your vision needs. He's the best!

I had something of a perceived emergency, and I don't mess around with my eyes, but the local eye doctor was unavailable, so his office referred me to Dr, Yohai in Novato. I'm so glad they did! He's very meticulous, very thorough, explains what he's doing, and while he is focused on his work (and wouldn't you want him to be?!), he is understanding and compassionate. Plus - he's a dog lover! That speaks volumes about a person in my book. Buddy, Dr. Yohai's shadow, is a big, sweet Golden Retriever who just made the whole experience more relaxed and fun. I have my permanent eye doctor. Thanks to the nice staff as well, the whole bunch are 5 stars. (You, too, Buddy!)
