Dr Robert Urrea has performed both back and neck surgery on me. He operated on my back some years back. The operation was a miracle and eliminated all my pain. Then on 11/13/2021 Dr Urrea operated on my neck. Both the back and neck in simple terms were to remove damaged disks put in "Cages" then put in plates and screws to hold everything. I had absolutely no pain or even any discomfort for the neck surgery. i have recommended Dr Urrea to an Alaska friend she talked to Dr Urrea flew to El Paso and he has done both back and neck surgery on her. I have been a patient of Dr. Robert Urrea's for 13 years. He has performed two extremely difficult fusions to my cervical spine and one to my lumbar. Additionally he has repaired a trigger finger, treated a torn patella tibial ligiment and set a fractured finger! I find him to be patient and empathetic as well as extremely skilled. His staff are equally professional and kind. True on occassion the wait has been lengthly but the options make it worth it. I absolutely would go nowhere else for orthopedic care. October 23,2020 update: I am scheduled for another lumbar fusion. I have lived with pain consistently the past two or more years. I have a fractured vertebrae at L5/S1. Again, there is none I would trust with my care other than Dr. Urrea. He has prevailed when another Doctor said "no, it was too difficult". God has blessed Dr. Urrea, and Dr. Calderon with patience, skill and compassion, the attributes I require from a physician.

Had rotator cuff repair. Prior to surgery and the surgery went as planned. Very knowledgable and experienced surgeon.

Dr Robert Urrea has performed Cervical Spine Procedures, Lumbar Spine Procedures, and several Nerve BLOCKS with the best success. Absolutely no adverse consequences have been experienced. His Aides, in fact his whole staff display outstanding INTERPERSONAL relations throughout all of our activities. Therefore, with utmost respect for Dr Urrea and staff I do recommend their expertise for consideration when deciding events that uses their qualifications. I am a RN & was first diagnosed by Dr. Urrea in 2008 with a herniated disc; years later Crossfit aggravated my condition and I developed another herniation. Spinal injections only temporarily helped my pain so I went ahead with surgery in May of 2018. My pain is almost completely gone & I no longer have the pain I once did; I have frequently referred him to friends. Dr. Urrea operated on my father, mother & myself all with positive outcomes that saved us. I would not recommend anyone higher.

I am a registered nurse and was first diagnosed by Dr. Urrea in 2008 with herniated disc L5-S1 and was treated with pain Rx's as needed. No surgical intervention was necessary back then and I managed over the years. In the past couple years, overexertion and multiple sports injuries including crossfit aggravated my condition and I began to have pain down my right leg. At the urging of my wife, I went back last year in Oct 2017 for follow up and then found out I had another herniated disc that was compressing my spine causing the pain in my right leg. Surgery was recommended. I also opted for spinal injections, which temporarily alleviated my pain. I went ahead with surgery in May of 2018 and had surgery for discectomy at L4-L5 and L5-S1 with laminectomies. I am now about 3 months post op and my pain is almost completely gone. I no longer have the pain I once did and I've even started working out again (no more crossfit!). Dr. Urrea is professional, courteous and tells you like it is. His PA Jose is excellent and staff is kind. I don't know what the other reviewer mentioned about staff being rude, this is simply not the case and false. I also failed to mention that Dr. Urrea has operated on my mother, father and myself and we all have regained our abilities to move and get our lives back without debilitating pain. My first and only option would be Dr. Urrea.
