Best Ophthalmologist in the area. Dr. Lewen sees me for preventive diabetic exams. On the few occasions when something came up he dealt with it professionally and courteously. Dr. Lewen does not run a patient factory. He takes time with every patient and makes sure their needs are met before moving on to others. I have never had any doctor I like as much as Dr. Lewen.

Had my first appointment with Dr. Lewen this afternoon. I found him to be trustworthy, knowledgeable, caring, and easy to talk to. I was very nervous but found his demeanor to be calming. He examined my eyes thoroughly and explained my condition to me. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a retinal specialist.

I was referred to Dr. Lewen as a precaution for a possible retinal detachment. Very thorough, explained why I was having symptoms, and addressed all of my concerns. All doctors/surgeons should take a page from this doctor’s book on how to treat patients. Excellent patient care. I highly recommend him.

Excellent experience with Dr Lewen. Had severe bleeding in left eye 20 years ago. He operated and all has been well since. I very recently (about 2 months ago) had severe bleeding in right eye. Dr Lewen was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable. Very thorough, Explains in detail his findings and what procedures he recommends. Very easy to take with. I was referred due to a rental tear. Dr Lewen did testing and confirmed there was a tear. Did a laser procedure to repair the tear. Absolutely no discomfort or problems. Complete office visit took less then one hour. Office staff excellent.

Dr.Lewen is a wonderful doctor. I take my 84 year old mother in law to see him every three months. He is always kind and explains everything that he is doing. She loves him and trusts him completely.
