Lissa Gandy 4 reviews·1 photo j NEW Dr. Temple is a nice enough Doctor, but if he does surgery on you, don’t plan on getting much pain relief!! I had a conversation with him pre op and explained to him that it takes.a lot of pain medicine to get my pain level down, and i knew it was a stupid conversation to have to have with him, but that’s just how my body works. I’m definitely not a pill seeker. I have owned a successful business for the past 13 years and don’t have the time or desire to use drugs for recreation. Before my surgery I had not had a pain pill for 4 years, and that’s when I had my first rotator cuff surgery. I knew what I was in for. This surgery would require extensive rotator cuff repair because of the damage. Post op, he prescribed me oxycodone every 8 hours. Well fair enough as I thought that should work. After the supposedly 3 day nerve block wore off in 15 hours, my shoulder came alive! I took a pill a got zero relief, then an hour later I took another, etc. until I had taken 4. My niece got ahold Of Dr. Temple the next day and he called in Toradol, which did help a ltiny bit, but I could only take it for 3 days, and he said that’ was all he could give me. I had a very painful and restless next 8 days, in which time I saw him in his office and told him the pain medicine didn’t help and explained again how it takes more than the normal amount to ease my pain. He said he would call the oxy in again. That afternoon I picked my script up and he had called in Tramadol. If we had talked about Tramadol, I would have told him it makes me severely sick to my stomach. No oxy like we had discussed. When I called the office to address this, he had already gone and would not be back in his office for 4 days!!! I had a miserable, painful, crying my eyes out, nerve racking, long weekend because now I had nothing for pain! First thing Tuesday after my niece called and stood up for me, his nurse called and said they would call in the oxy. This time he halfed my prescription to 20 which was ok because my pain was getting better. I had not realized until I got curious and looked at the new and old medication bottle, he was only giving me 5mg.’s, which if researched, is the same thing as hydrocodone 5’s. No wonder I had been in so much pain since day 1 post op!!! ! Its just unbelievable to me that a Doctor could care a less about pain management with his patients after major surgeries because he is looking out for his own rear!!! I have had several surgeries in the past and have never had an issue with pain management afterwards! Never! I hope this helps!
